I’m giving you the after first! (Scroll along for the before and after and before 😜) My beautiful client Ava was such a sport, this process took 6+ hours! #nojoke Her before picture shows dark hair, however it is not her natural (aka virgin hair) she has many layers of a dark artificial color on her hair. I applied SO MANY FOILS! It took quite awhile to process to get out the artificial pigment and get her hair light enough to support this vibrant violet color. I used @matrix #lightmaster to #highlight after processing, washing and drying I mixed @pulpriothair #violet #lilac and a bit of #mercury colors to create this customized shade. I want people to know these types of vibrant hair colors take a very long time to achieve, however it’s so worth it in the end!! (at Enlighten Studio)

OMG! I could watch this video on a loop endlessly! I love everything about it. The beautifully styled, glamorous, yet understated hair. The beautiful yet simple makeup. 8 hour #colortransformation 😳 What took so long?? Well here were the steps. 1. Malibu Wellness artificial pigment remover applied on underneath sections to remove old level 4 color. About 45 mins Step 2. Balayage all of her hair with @matrix #lightmaster This took the longest amount of time! About 3 hours. Step 3. Process Balayage. About 35 mins. Step 4.Wash out Balayage. Step 5. Comb out and rough blow dry. Step 6. Section out and apply #ColorSync Midnight Blue with a dash of Clear in foils throughout the underneath Step 6. Apply ColorSync toner SPV & SPA. Step 7. Process 15 mins. Step 8. Wash out ColorSync. Step 9. Apply #shadowroot to deepen the base and blend grey. ColorSync 7n, 7g process 20 mins. Step 10. Wash out. Step 11. Cut and Style. DONE! LOL!! Remember that old saying “Tell him I’m busy washing my hair!” Do you know why it took so long to wash your hair back then? It was a PROCESS! Most women got their hair “set” and they wore it for a week at least. So when they or a stylist washed it for them They had to take it all down (take all the pins out) brush out a weeks worth of hairspray, wash it up to 3 times, condition, then re-set it. Well, we are kind of back to that! Except no “set” it’s a “blowout” now then a few days of dry shampoo. It takes me at least 3 washes to get all the gunk out. 😳 It’s all good to not have to style my hair everyday though! What’s your favorite dry shampoo?? (at Enlighten Studio)

I HAD to repost this beautiful picture from my wonderful friend @joanie.simon her photography feed @thebiteshot is amazing! I am absolutely in LOVE with this red tea! I must ask her what it is. Maybe I’m inspired by all the red #haircolor I’ve been doing lately? Part of me doesn't want to mention the new camera because I am a firm believer in the idea that it's the photographer, not the camera that makes the images. But, that said, I'm moving into a level of business that requires huge files, billboard sized resolution, and the old girl wasn't cutting it. Too, I worked damn hard to afford this camera and that's a reason to celebrate, right? I was felling myself (as the cool kids say 😜) this morning so I had to take a pic! I had breakfast with my sisters and mom before my mom went back home. So, I'm not a photographer.. but I love my little display on my dresser. I got 2 new candles from @marshalls on CLEARANCE! The Pink jar is Peony Blossom. I love #pink and I love #peonies This candle smells amazing! Imagine all the treasures I can put in this beautiful jar when it's burned out 🤔😍 The little purple bowl in the back is a mandarin & oakmoss scent. For whatever reason it reminds me of my nana. She had a powder that smelled very similar to this. She also had all the best treasures on her dresser too. Wonder who I take after?? Maybe I'll get better at this photography gig?? I'm not getting a fancy camera, I have fancy #iphone Maybe one of those clip on #ringlight would help?? I'll take suggestions from the #photographers out there. 🤔😍 #bekind #imjuststarting

When I'm doing a color this vibrant I ask my clients to go outside for a photo😳 I think I'll be asking Santa to bring @enlightenaz A #ringlight For #christmas 🤔😍 Anyhoo.. I've been doing lots of red color this past week, I say bring on the red heads! I loved doing this #balayage #colormelt on my amazing friend @jennmaggiore She's been a #redhead for quite sometime, however this time I changed up the tone and made the ends nice and bright! Of course I used @matrix #haircolor her base color is a #logics colorcremes formula 6R, 4RV, 6RO with 20 vol melted into a SoRed RV, SoRed R with 30 vol. I painted in panels of #colorsyncvinyls Midnight Violet with 10 vol. Who wants to try it?? (at Enlighten Studio)

Beautiful #colormelt to bring on the holiday season! Why do I love color melting so much? I feel it's a FABULOUS option for brunette's who have to get a base retouch due to those pesky greys. We can add color and dimension yet still have the ease of retouching the base. I used @matrix #colorsync to retouch her base with a 4n & 4nw with 20 vol. Then I melted in #socolor SoRed RV with 30 vol. What do you think?? (at Enlighten Studio)
