It’s the little things...

At a glance this outfit screams casual and care-free, and while it still evokes this, the meticulous color scheming is very cleverly thought out. The subtle things go a long long way! 

Was it intentional to accent the yellow/gold stitching of the Dr Martins to with the gold sequined elbows? Who knows, I’m just the photographer...

But the way blonde and black ricochets from top to bottom is pure genius.

The celeb-news outlets are going mental today, speculating that it’s now Rita Ora  - the mystery woman Beyonce has singled-out, singing words of infidelity on her new track ‘Lemonade’.

Seems Rachel Roy is off the hook for now as “Becky with the good hair,” seems to be the British singer signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation label...

Oh well, great outfit though. I expect to see more of this, the color-scheme, the style, the cat-fighting...

Gucci must be rubbing their hands in glee!

Because at $1890 for the skirt and $1390 for the blouse, this shiz don’t come cheap.

Kenzo and Chanel in Larchmont Village (today pronounced with a silent t...)

OK so Larchmont isn’t very French but it’s definitely a fashion gem in the heart of LA.

We have high-fashion casual on both these looks...

The white Kenzo sweatshirt isn’t cheap at around $300, but what I love about the Paris-based company is they manage to do loud colors and brazen logo’s but also maintain class!

- and that doesn’t come cheap.

The Chanel hightop sneakers add a touch of nonchalance (look at me with all the French words today!) to this otherwise chic outfit. I do love that over-sized black and grey cardigan - the subtle winner in my opinion...

This light and dark denim contrast is a trenchant option when going for the full denim look...  

I like this simple but clean style with the turn-up sleeves and turn-up jeans to accentuate the awesomeness of the silver slip on sneakers.

Espadrilles are obviously back in season and any variation or emulation of the Stan Smith sneaker seem to be a staple at the moment! 

I must say I love the creme and red heel version of the shoe, combine this with the shredded leather fringe skirt - this look may win it...

But, then we have  the all white shorts and long sleeve accompanied by the beige Espadrille wedges... just in time for summer.

Kombucha - come to me!

Yeah I know it’s a big L.A preconception that we’re all vegan, do yoga in mass communes, drive electric roller-skates and smoke copious amounts of dried kale!

Some of this is true...

I however, after spending most of my youth ruining my body with extensive socializing and late nights - I now spend a lot of my time staying as healthy as my schedule will allow. 

That’s why in my household, we make home-made K-tea, and I highly recommend it! (I don’t recommend saying K-tea fast, you may confuse people, especially Katie’s).

And yes you can buy kombucha in loads of stores these days but here are two reasons not to...

Brands like GT’s Synergy and Health.Ade etc can be pricy, and yes it’s fine paying a high price for a good healthy product, but a lot of the health attributes associated with kombucha are lost in the processing and bottling phase.

Legally these brands have to process their product and these health benefits are greatly diminished. Not all of them, but you are basically drinking an expensive kombucha-flavoured drink...

‘Above’ is a little storyboard of how it goes down in my pad: 

Anyone not familiar with Kombucha... It’s basically a probiotic organism fermented with tea (we use mostly green tea). When the bacteria have multiplied, the ‘mother’ will split and spawn a baby called a SCOBY, which is an acronym for symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast. 

I’m no technical expert when it come to the science and terminology but some of the many health benefits range from cancer prevention, hair re-generation, increased energy and improved digestion...

I’m just an expert at drinking the stuff.

Denim-head!

I’m shooting a lot of denim on the streets of LA at the moment and with festival season upon us, these new looks from All Saints are definitely inspiring...

This ‘Birds Denim Jacket’ has a pretty traditional cut, but the slanted pockets and awesome embroidered sleeves make it jump!

Same with the shorts... These would be my ‘pick’ if you aren’t opting for the all denim look, saying that - all-denim seems to be in right now... 

But, be careful going full-denim - it’s not a toy!

Apple and the tree...

Dad’s style caught my eye with this retro-grunge look; a little bit Silver Lake for my taste but definitely some talking points here: 

Golden Goose shoes will set you back $535 for these low-tops, and despite being a crazy-cool brand they are extortionate - lets not sugar-coat it. But hey if you can spend the money then why not?

I like the cut off Levis shorts and the tats keep the look edgy, the jacket is a miss in my opinion but it’s just mine... All in all - cool dad.

Mini-me’s Varsity jacket and Darth Vader backpack are awesome, I didn’t even notice this little chap till I edited the photo. 

I’ll be convincing my little boy and girl that these molded Star Wars bags by Loungefly.com are next semester’s must... I want a Chewie bag in large!
