It is interesting that Regulus and Capella's conception of love, despite the former's denial, have the same basis.
Capella makes it clear that for her, love exists only in terms of how attractive a person is, that without that there would really be nothing. That's the dilemma she poses to Subaru, the one she challenges him with when she transforms into Emilia: if the woman he loves were to transform into an insect, would he still love her? Would he really be capable of looking beyond the look ?
Regulus hates this view of things, he labels Capella as a "flesh lover"*. But he is just a hypocrite. He is the living proof of Capella's reasoning. When Subaru asks him why he took Emilia, he replies that it's because of his face and that there is no other reason to love someone. He demands that none of his wives smile, because it would ruin their faces. It's all he cares about, there's nothing else for him beyond that.
The kind of twisted love that Capella professes does exist and, ironically, is practiced by the very man who believes himself better than her. From a man who believes he truly loves, but who cannot see beyond his own ego and who sees his wives as accessories to be shown off and nothing more. Regulus Corneas is much more lustful than he would like to admit.
*It might be a mistranslation, English is not my first language so I don't know what did the english subtitles say.

I was looking at the covers of the RE:Zero LN because I was bored (and to increase my interest in continuing, I'm currently caught up with the Anime), when I noticed a detail.
There is no Subaru.
THE FUCKING PROTAGONIST OF THE STORY DOESN'T APPEAR ON ANY COVER !
THERE ARE CHARACTERS REPEATED SEVERAL TIMES BUT NEVER HIM!
Did they think they wouldn't sell with him on the cover? Do they want to keep him for the last volume? Does the illustrator hate him? If I asked someone who knows nothing about the story to tell me the protagonist based on the covers alone, what would they say?
I'm really disappointed by this omission, such an injustice for such a fantastic character. (ب_ب)
#re:zero#re zero#natsuki subaru#this post is half a joke#and for the other half genuine surpris#I want justice for my hero Barusu

I think I should write something, after all by pure coincidence ONK ended exactly 2 years after I discovered it.
A lot of things have changed in 2 years, at the time I had read very little manga and ONK seemed like such an incredible thing to me. I remember trying Kaguya-Sama and not liking it, then it became one of my favorite series but that's another story.
I remember the months before the anime adaptation, when I couldn't wait for everyone to know about this story and to finally be able to talk about it with my friends.
How Akasaka was a genius to me and how i followed Renai Daikou from the first chapter.
The incest accusations after the series ended and how they turned out to be true. How the hope that Aka wouldn't go down that path turned first into disappointment and then boredom that it didn't lead to anywhere.
How I read the chapter in the volume where Kana went to that director's house and realized that an attempted rape - sorry if that sounds too strong - had been completely ignored by the story.
That was probably the point where I broke down and sold the volumes to make room. And how I've been following the series ever since just to see how this disaster would end.
And the story is over and... Nothing, at this point I can't feel anything except "It's over". It's literally "Thank you Aquamarine Hoshino, you killed yourself for our sake" and I don't know whether to laugh or not.
I thank the series for accompanying me for 2 years, but I don't think the journey was worth the destination.
#oshi no ko#sorry for the confusing wall of text#I'm just trying to figure out how I feel#I think none of us deserved an ending like that

So apparently in Japan if you name your daughter a name that starts with R, she will automatically become a bass player.
- Ryo Yamada (Bocchi The Rock!)
- Rupa (Girls Band Cry)
- Rin Kouyama (Girl Meets Rock!)
#bocchi the rock!#girls band cry#girl meets rock#I love looking for useless coincidences#I don't know if it happens elsewhere#In K-On for example no#the bass player was Mio there

This week's episode of MayoPan strikes me above all for the broad expressiveness of the characters.
It's really nice to see that the authors understand that facial expressions are a powerful comical tool, and that in using them they range in a great variety rather than being reduced to simple meme faces extensively tested.
It's one of those things that helps the series to have a unique imprint and that makes me laugh like crazy every week!

Gosho said some time ago that he was a fan of Spy X Family, I can't imagine how happy he is with the homage this week's chapter paid to Conan.

While I was still playing the first trilogy I came across fanart of Jove Justice and Thalassa and seriously believed that Apollo's father was a character from AA4.
And since I had already caught other spoilers - I can't avoid them - I thought it was part of the Gavinners.
So when I started playing "Turnabout Serenade" and saw the opening footage of the concert I wondered which of the shadowed musicians was Jove.
And then I spent the rest of the game waiting for the appearance of a man who wasn't there.
#ace attorney#This isn't the dumbest reasoning I've created based on spoilers#But it's definitely noteworthy#“Wasn't there” because he was dead#eh eh... Sorry bad joke

Apollo is a character with such an interesting development in AA4 and it annoys me that it doesn't seem to fully unfold
In the 4-1 and 4-2 he seems overly driven by others, but that makes sense when you consider he's a fledgling lawyer. It's literally his first two trials, and with no one to show him the way forward - Phoenix could still count on Mia in some way - it's obvious he feels lost.
In 4-3 he finally has previous experience and in fact the second day in court is practically all the result of his work. He's finally starting to understand his job and how it should be done, and it is thanks to his deductions that he manages to bring the truth to light.
In 4-4 so you'd expect him to finally take on an entire case on his own, succeeding Phoenix Wright just like the title says. Instead he disappears for half the game and closing the case isn't even the result of his work.
This possible story arc made Apollo feel more realistic and human to me than Phoenix, and it's a shame it didn't get to a conclusion.
#ace attorney#apollo justice#There might be some wrong memory because I played AA4 over a month ago#But this thing had been in the draft for too long and I wanted to get rid of it
