Once more from the top
Once more from the top... Today, I chat about what I intend to do for the future and for myself. I'm not going anywhere, but even heroes need to start fresh. #writingcommunity #authors #kidlit #writing #amwriting
It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I apologize for the radio silence lately. No, I’m not dead, and yes, I’ve been writing. This is honestly more of a personal vent than anything but it helps figure out what I’ve been struggling with and perhaps how I can fix things going forward. For example, the biggest for me is: What kind of writer am I? Am I someone capable of churning out books that, even if…

Palworld's Problematic Premiere
(Image Source: Gematsu) It’s tough to find a true competitor to Pokemon, a massive franchise juggernaut that will enter its 28th anniversary next month. Of course, there’s Digimon, which is still iconic on its own. Yo-kai Watch is big in the Japanese market but flopped in the US market. Some indie titles exist, like Coromon, Nexomon, Temtem, and so on. I’m sure many would love some competition…

Looking ahead into 2024
Time to say farewell to 2023 and focus on 2024.
If 2023 was a period of reflection for me, then 2024 is a period of realization of who I am as both a writer and a blogger/reviewer. Last year had no yearly review because I got smacked with my sworn enemy: Covid-19. Despite doing everything possible to avoid it, I still caught it. I missed Christmas because of it. I’m fortunate that I spent time with my family this year despite all that…

Fiction Friday: Bite Risk Review
It's werewolf time. Today we're reviewing Bite Risk by S.J. Wills #amreading #kidlit
(Disclaimer: All links provided are Amazon associate links.) Halloween might be over, but the fun’s just getting started. Today, I’m reviewing Bite Risk by S.J. Wells. A lot of werewolf books tend to be occupied by paranormal romance, but a lot of them tend to be…well, let’s just say no one falls in love with a hot dude who’s secretly a werewolf. Instead, we get a thriller for the pre-teen…

Fall 2023 update
Moonlight Blade debuts November 14th! Check out the announcement!
Apologies for the silence here at the inn. I’m not dead. Maybe I’ve been rebuilt by scientists somewhere, but my memory’s a bit hazy. Anywho, I’m here to give announcements about what’s happened recently. Moonlight Blade I’ve been super hard at work constructing the first half of my web serial, Moonlight Blade. My first batch will encompass the first 13 chapters of “Season 1” out of 26…

The Super Mario Bros. Movie Review
Mamma Mia! It’s-a finally time for Silver Claw’s the #SuperMarioBrosMovie Review. How does Nintendo’s biggest film in decades hold up? Let’s find out.
Let’s-a go! Video games and movies have a troubling history that only recently have provided fairly good adaptations. One example is HBO’s The Last Of Us based on Playstation and Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic action shooter. The show has been receiving rave reviews from plenty of critics. Especially having names like Bella Ramsey (of Game of Thrones) and Pedro Pascal (of The…

So...About that Wizard Game Boycott... (Rant warning)
Yep, we're talking about that wizard game. Today, I rant about the boycott and why it ended up failing. #amwriting #writingcommunity
I’m probably gonna ruffle some feathers (owl feathers, in this case), but you know what? I’ve stayed silent long enough. Time for a rant. To say Hogwarts Legacy is polarizing would be the understatement of a millennium. In fact, the game itself might be the most divisive game of all time. I’ve seen many video game boycotts in my lifetime. One that stuck out was Left 4 Dead 2, being announced so…

Heads up, Seven up!
Thanks for the tag @thephoenixandthecrocodile! I tag @kiraofthewind @annyinacastle @author-audrey-simmons @authorandreamariejohnson @abookbumble @evelienclarkewriter and @rosantha-tindall (although no pressure to play)
The rules are to share a snippet or a line from your recent work and then tag seven people. Anyone feel free to do this challenge if you want.
Here's one of Tsuki, the rabbit companion from Moonlight Blade, telling Luca about the new world he's in after waking up in a fantasy world hotel place.
“You’re in Arcana now!” She hopped onto the bed. “Well, not the town we’re in, I think it’s called ‘Mireforde?’ Humans call it something silly, but this whole world is Arcana, and it’s super duper magical! Dragons, magic, flying ships, magic scooters and bikes, and most importantly,” Tsuki playfully poked her cheeks, “magical guardian animals such as this cutie here!”
