3 Years Sober Today!
Tumblr media
Today I am grateful, like filled to the brim with gratitude. It’s been three years today that I decided to quit drinking. The list of pros at this point is off the chart and there is no con list. I don’t look at people drinking and feel envy or fear of missing out because I know what hides behind the glamour for me. Have you ever blacked out, been unnecessarily mean to friends and family, woke up with strange bruises, been in trouble with the law, and just keep allowing the cycle of bad behavior to continue thinking next time will be different? I did and quitting drinking just so happened to be the best decision of my life. It’s not worth it to me to feel that way, and the person I am sober does not match the description of the person I became when I drank. It always started out classy with good intentions and ended very sloppy and mornings of regret and shame. I only share this in hopes that there’s at least one reader who can relate, there is a better quality of life. In only three years the direction of my life has changed dramatically. I am way more confident in what I do, who I am, and what I bring to the table. I pray now, I’m gardening and growing food, and most importantly I am raising a beautiful young lady that needs a strong mother full of love and joy. Anyway, I am super grateful for the woman I’ve become and I will continue to share every year in hopes that one person hears my story and says “Maybe I should give it a try” if so please feel free to reach out to me anytime I am always here and I love sharing about sobriety because it’s very important to me. To everyone else have a happy Wednesday 🙏❤️👍

Taking Action
Tumblr media
Have you ever said "Hey I have a great idea, I should ____!" and a week, month, years go by and you never got around to it or you just couldn't come up with the "perfect" approach so you moved on?  I am guilty hands down!  What I have discovered as the source of my procrastination is that I was scared to trust the process, everything had to be PERFECT aka I was really worried what other people would think or say about what I was doing.  Perfectionism is truly a disguise, acting all cool but really it is destroying creativity.  In order to create you must take action; it requires an idea, a canvas, and the use of your hands.  The busier you are doing things that align with your goal the faster you will see results.  So here I am finally writing my first blog post and you know what it feels fantastic.  I am a hairstylist by trade so all my posts will relate my craft!
So when a client comes in and says "I want to be blonde" and she isn't currently blonde I have to trust the process.  I will analyze and communicate expectation vs. reality, take pictures and write down formulas to document our journey, I will allow the process the time it deserves, I will always invest in the best products available because it guarantees the results, and finally I will always plan ahead so the client who wants to be blonde stays blonde consistently.
What does this do for everyone involved?  The client loves the results and trusts that I'm the girl for her hair and she'll keep coming back. She will share her experience with her friends and family so I can keep creating beautiful hair. This allows me to keep sharing beautiful hair on the internet to inspire more great hair, attract more dream clients, and create more content so we all keep learning and having fabulous hair!
Everything in life is full circle, I have learned to just keep creating, stay consistent, and put it out there for the world to see.  Someone told me that we are all here to be of service to each other, imagine if we all shared our experiences and took out time to just create. So what have you always wanted to create and when will you get started?  Email me: [email protected] and share with me!
