Uh, well it seems the MayoPan finale isn't gonna be the only thing I talk about when I get off hiatus tomorrow huh...

A little under a week ago I decided I wanted to get back to streaming again because I miss it so much. I originally went on this currently hiatus back in February because playing ISaT and seeing the uncomfortably long list of things I saw of myself in Siffrin made me realize that I absolutely needed to get off my ass and get a therapist after procrastinating for 2 years.

So I got one. Been going for almost half a year now and we've been slowly working threw stuff. I'm so lucky to have found one that's NB so I don't have to sit there and explain being NB LET ALONE being Trans to someone I'm supposed to be incredibly open with when that's not the focus of the session. I just know that would have been taxing.

Aaaaaanny way. I had been mostly pushing off streaming again because I also wanted to get remedicated for ADHD, hoping I'd be able to work on a bunch of stream related stuff. I wanted to come back with a proper Debut! Show off my lowpoly that I've been working so hard on, have a fully freshened up layout, redeems, everything! But it's been taking much longer than expected.

I was only able to finally be prescribed stimulants back at the beginning of last month, and have been waiting the past 6 weeks for my Adderall to be stocked because of this shortage that's been going for almost 2 years. But I have it now and have actually opened my blender project for the first time since March. I'ma try pacing myself so I don't burn out again, oops.... HELL, I should be finishing my 3 temp emotes! I still have none and don't have the money saved up to commission someone, SHIT!!!

I wasn't really planning on talk about VTubing/Streaming stuff at all until I locked in, finished my lowpoly, and got everything else set up for a proper debut, saving all the talk of my plans as a VTuber and streamer for that but the finale of VTuber Legend has been making me think about things again and I can't sit on absolutely everything for so long.

I should probably share this too huh, I originally made this for personal use but I'm just so happy with how it turned out.

Was slightly annoyed with the way some of the songs in the OST wouldn't loop seamlessly whenever my brain decided I needed to listen to a song on loop for 2 days straight, so I went about making the ones that didn't seamlessly loop. I wanted them to have a different thumbnail to differentiate them from the main OST, and since most of them were late game stuff I lent into the Act 5 stuff for this edit of the cover art.

OH we're sharing spritemashed edits? Might as well share a set I completely forgot to post when I first made them 3 months back.

Made some sprite edits of the Sif sprite Loop flashes to before their fight, based on my live line read on stream. And of course I HAD to use that smile from the Prologue for one of them. It's just off enough, it feels right.

I loved the emotion I went for with that line so much but I flubbed it so hard and had SOOOO much dyslexia going on with that whole scene.

I will upload my VoDs eventually I swear, my brain is just nonfunctional and I can't concentrate for shit (you can just find it on my twitch if you really want to see them tho.) When I do get around to editing I think I might also pull out a few of my favorite linereads and do some cleanup to post separately too :3c

i saw you use cohost. would you recommend is as a good/active twitter alternative? im getting tired of the hell hole that this bird website is

i really love cohost and the community there but it is absolutely NOT a twitter alternative. if anything it's a tumblr alternative.

here's my small speech about cohost and why i like it

it's a mix between tumblr and livejournal which is fun

the community is very fun and active! when i made my intro post i had a dozen people leaving a comment welcoming me to cohost which is a very nice feeling

it is very much NOT about likes and follower counts. in fact, there is no way for anyone to know how many likes a post has, or how many followers someone has. YOU dont even know how many followers you have

the only visible number is the number of comments on a post, which is where the community comes from: if you want people to know a post is great, you gotta leave a comment saying so!!!

you can have as many links as you want on your profile, AND you can have links be only visible to logged in users, only to people following you, or only visible to pages you follow... so it's a great way to have your discord only be visible to certain people for example

if you DO want a more twitter-like experience, there is a tag that's The Global Cohost Feed, so you have a bunch of posts from a lot of people

when you first join you will have a few days where you can't post anything, but you can still look at posts and share them. a lot of it must be so cohost can prepare code to bring you in or whatever, BUT it also means you get those couple of days to get to know the culture of the website a bit more! it's lovely

I've been thinking about this game so much since I finished it and I couldn't help but write a short post-canon scene and voice it. Transcript below. (Vague Act 3/4 Spoilers)

(You used to love looking up at the Stars, and when you did there was something you'd always do, wouldn't you?)

(On Instinct, you raise your hand to the sky and start tracing out a Constellation.) (Your finger cutting a deep tear between the Stars.)

(When you are done. Burned into your retina is that Vivid Shade. A glowing afterimage of what once was.)

This is the first proper thing I've drawn in ages (and first are I think I've posted in over 5 years?) I just needed to draw the opening to Act 5 and my reaction to it.

Nothing has gripped me in such a way and forced me to finish an art piece like this in so fucking long. I see far too much of myself in him. I just want them to be ok after this is all over. STARS, this is just Asriel all over again isn't it. But WORSE!/pos

There are so many things covered by each other and I just need to share and talk about them. Bonus details and rambles under the cut.

Siffrin's expression was like the first thing I drew and if it didn't turn out as good as it did I probably wouldn't have spent almost 10 days slowly adding to this and I just need to show it because his hands/arms end up covering most of their face.

Nothing much else to say about him, I'm just super happy with how everything about him turned out (I did have to go back and redraw some of his hair towards the end because the line thickness wasn't consistent with everything I drew after.

Next is ME yippeeeee. I have no idea why I spent so long adding details even tho I knew alot of it would get covered by Sif 'cause of how I was posing this.

I even designed a little button based on the Change Ornament + Star (the Change Belief and Lost Belief in The Universe really spoke to me in so many ways)

The gloves are an Archery Glove on the right hand and a Drawing/Writing Glove on the left.

The cloak is based on the style of cloak my mom made for my family for SCA events when I was young. It's just a simple hooded cloak but it has a slit in each side so you can stick your hands threw without needing to open up the cloak. I imagine it being stylized like, the opening doesn't exist until you stick your hands threw and then it can just freely glide around the face of the cloak to wherever it's needed, stopping at the elbow only letting threw the forearm, below the slit beginning to hang off the elbow with gravity while the part above begins to move with the upper arm.

I didn't even try to draw the outfit under the cloak because dealing with the folds of a thick wool cloak was enough for me (you can see how I gave up at the knees because I KNEW Sif was gonna cover them up). What I imagine the outfit being is this big baggy tunic and pants that are tied down at the forearms/calves to keep from getting in the way, it's also supposed to have a big baggy turtleneck thing that can be pulled up as a(nother) hood (iirc, this sorta thing was used so someone could wear a chainmail hood without it grabbing your hair(there ware also like stand alone cloth hoods that did the same thing too but eh, my memory is bad I might just be misremembering this)) but I couldn't figure out the folds and ended up just doing a simple button up thing (which then got covered by Sif's big head anyway.)

I spent soooo long trying to draw my eyes, trying to figure out the shape, and ended up just doing a bunch of small tests to the side before finding one that actually looked right. Drag it over the face and see that it fit EXACTLY, didn't even need to redraw it or anything.... unless you're talking about the other eye in which case I just duplicated it, flipped, and did some perspective warping until it looked ok because I could NOT draw that again especially at a different perspective (can I just say I have no idea how I drew that creepy eye but I love it, it was the first eye I drew and I just threw 4 lines down what the fuck how. Also the Mira-ish one looks cute too but didn't fit the expression.) I also needed to figure out what the hell was wrong with the expression I had before so you get 2 faces from me figuring that out (turns out I had the eyebrows facing the wrong way.)

I ALMOST FUCKING FORGOT MY FRECKLES TOO AAAAAAAAA (they're actually missing from the version I posted in the official ISaT server.) It was super weird trying to add them at the obscenely low resolution I was drawing at and they're probably gonna get compressed to hell and back but I think they're cute.

final thing.

Why is my hair so similar to Sif's but longer? Like, you can see I was sketching over my drawing of him to make sure I'd keep the proportions right when I started working on myself but in the process I realized that I was basically drawing over his hair but longer for mine (drawing I was using as ref here made by @leemak)

Add that to the uncomfortably long list of things I have in common with Siffrin I guess.
