I can explain the Palpatine/Eedy thing as one of its founders.

Eedy is from Andor, a show that we’ve been waiting three years to get season two for, and because of that wait, we got “hiatus brain”. It was born out of a joke on Discord that soon took on a life of its own. Eedy and Palpatine haven’t actually interacted, but we like to pretend that they’re exes and Eedy has secretly been the big bad in Star Wars this whole time. Soon, we started making family trees and coming up with elaborate lore. Then, the Peedycule (Peedy polycule) was born. We’re trying to include every single Star Wars character in it.

What’s funny is the ship name, Peedy, and the fact the owner of the Discord server Peedy originated from absolutely hates it. We Peedy shippers have been imprisoned and as a result, a rousing speech was given in the dedicated Peedy channel, something we fought hard to get.

What started as a joke now has fanart, fan fiction, and a dedicated blog.
