“We have to get rid of him,” Theo said.

“Can’t,” Blaise answered without looking away from the wards. “Not unless you want half the magical surveillance network clocking us in real time. That much residual magic on a body, you side-along and it’ll be like setting off fireworks in the MACUSA atrium.”

“Then burn him,” Theo said.

“That’s worse,” Blaise snapped. “You know what cremation does to the mark—he might as well be a bullhorn telling every remaining Inner Circle lunatic where we are.”

“What about water?” Pansy asked, tone deceptively mild. “There’s a river, what—half a kilometer down? Wrap him, weight him, let him drift.”

“Too easy to find,” Draco said. “Too easy to follow.”

“Then what?” Theo’s voice was rising. “We can’t just leave him on the porch like some kind of godsdamned lawn ornament.”

They all looked at the body again. The night seemed to fold in closer around it.

“Deep grave,” Draco said finally. “Under the wards, far enough out the trace blurs with the rest of the boundary. Mask the site afterward.”

“That’s a panicked solution, not a good one,” Blaise muttered.

“Name a good one,” Draco said.

No one did.

Pansy exhaled. “Fine. But she can’t know.”

Theo’s head snapped toward her. “You think she won’t notice we’re all acting like we just buried someone in the yard?”

I’ve been wanting to bind an octavo for a while now, and this just felt like the perfect opportunity, to eternalize our team's work into something I can have on my shelf!

I had so much fun working on something so small for the first time, and I can't stop looking at it, because this might be the cutest thing I’ve ever made. No one told me octavos were this adorable! 🤏🥹

I made a few measurement mistakes in the typeset, fucked around and found out what would look better for a baby bind, and voilà!! Here's our work bound, and I'm so proud of us, my beautiful team!

I have a Rhet & Writing minor, so I will continue to use my emdash, thanks. Otherwise, what the hell did I spend my parent's money on?

Current writing advice I'm seeing on TikTok and Insta is telling authors to stop using em dashes in their work because, "AI uses em dashes so people will think you've used AI."

Y'know, the AI that was trained on the stolen work of real authors?

Anyway, I will not be doing that. What I will be doing, however, is adding a note at the start of all my books that no AI was used in the creation of my work because I, the author, did not go to university for four fucking years to study English literature and linguistics only to be told I can't use proper grammar because someone might think a robot wrote it.

Updated Rules for Dramione Month

We are about a month away from the start of Dramione Month, and we'd like to be clear about some rules before getting too far into working on your creations. Three of these rules were added after the conclusion of Dramione Month last year, so we are reiterating them again here. Text for the images is below the cut.

NO PHOTOS OF MINORS / JKR SUPPORTERS

We do not allow the use of photos of minors in any works, as minors cannot meaningfully consent to having their pictures shared online. The mods will also not share any works that include photos of anyone who has been publicly supportive of JKR or dismissive of her transphobia. This rule extends to edits and other material associated with your Dramione Month work. (This rule includes—but is not limited to—photos of child celebrities, any images of the child cast of the upcoming HBO show, Tom Felton, etc.)

NO PLAGIARISED WORKS

Plagiarism is the act of stealing and passing off someone else’s ideas or words as your own. This includes any use of AI in the creation of your work, whether using a chatbot like chatGPT in any capacity or utilising AI generated images to trace or reference. Plagiarism also includes the lifting of art concepts/style/composition from others’ art without credited references or permissions.

NO MONETISATION

Dramione Month’s mission has always been to encourage creativity and engagement within the fandom. As a free non-commercial event, any monetised self-promotion or solicitation connected to works created for Dramione Month is not permitted. Additionally, we do not allow the sale of any works created for Dramione Month.

NO PREVIOUSLY POSTED WORKS

All works posted for Dramione Month must be new fanworks created specifically for the event. Any work that has been shared previously (whether posted independently, part of a previous Dramione Month, or part of a separate fandom event) will not be reshared to our social media platforms. Previous works will not be accepted into the AO3 Collection.

Chapter Six

Hermione cautiously approached Malfoy at the end of the game. He barely resisted a sneer when he saw her. "Come to tell me off for getting that yellow, Granger?" he asked.

"No," she answered tartly. "It was barely a yellow. You shouldn't have gotten it. But we can't afford for you to get a match ban so I understand why Harry took you off. Higgs is a poor substitute, but we don't really have anyone else."

He looked at her in surprise. "I didn't know you knew that much football," he said, sounding impressed.

Hermione laughed. "I can like football," she insisted. "I watch enough games... obviously I am going to pick something up along the way."

"Astoria came to a lot of games and I don't think she could tell you anything meaningful about the sport," he said with a shrug of his shoulders.

She wasn't sure what to make of being compared to his ex-girlfriend. She cleared her throat, trying to ignore that twisty feeling in her stomach. "I just wanted to tell you that I've made that reservation for your dinner with your mum," she said, crossing her hands across her chest. "Because you asked so nicely," she added with a smirk, glancing over her shoulder at Sirius. She gave him the details about the restaurant and the time.

"Oh," he said, with a frown. "Actually, she had to... reschedule. My mum isn't coming anymore."

"Oh," she answered, eyebrows furrowed. "I'll just cancel it for you, then."

"Hermione?" he asked, looking uncharacteristically nervous. "Would you... would you maybe like to take the reservation with me? I mean, you've already made it. Would be a shame to cancel it after you did so much hard work."
