See, what you gotta do when feeling like they dont like you anymore is
1. Work up the courage to ask to talk to them after band camp
2. Throw yourself into a depressed self-hating frenzy imagining every possible awful way it could go and never let yourself fully explore any good possibilities, painting them as someone who secretly hates your guts and is interested in someone else and thinks you're too much and just reinforces every negative feeling you have about yourself
3: Talk to them the next day, the talk goes good, and be pleasantly surprised and relieved to no end, thankful you got all the bad scenarios out of the universe's system by imagining them so they wouldn't actually happen bc life is never whats expected
Good news is that if the talk doesn't go well, you can pass it off as if you knew it would and the blow is softened. Bad news is that if the talk goes kinda okay but kinda not, it could make you actually spiral with added confusion.
So fun!

Ooo tell me about the antagonists in Wish I Were!
Ooooo ok!
Admittedly the antagonists dont have a ton of development yet. Its moreso an antagonistic group overall, which is the (currently unnamed) cult, and the unnamed cult girl
And overall, they share their antagonism with interpersonal/intrapersonal conflicts with Emilio- so while they're antagonists, I struggle to say who or what are the main antagonists bc at this point in development, that role is pretty split
But I digress
The cult as a whole is international but central America concentrated, and is essentially just radical deity worship that has upped its danger level up to direct terrorism in the name of sacrifice. They focus mostly on spiritual frequencies, or how the spirits of animals, plants, and ghosts alike operate. The main goal of the higher-ups in the cult is to be able to access the ghostly spiritual frequency while remaining on the human one, therefore interlinking those two planes of being and being able to control human spirits through those frequencies. It's kinda like tuning a radio frequency and using that to affect something on a different frequency.
A significant thing abt the cult is that the deity they worship is a legitimate, actual being. I hesitate to call them a god of any sort, especially because its not like it has reign or direct control over anything, but it is an entity/deity that exists on all spiritual frequencies and can indeed appear in a physical form, although it doesn't really.
I need to develop why the cult does what it does. But the terrorism it causes is essentially just meant to be mass sacrifices to the entity out of some sort of fantastical beliefs that it'll protect them or something kinda like that. Specifics will be worked out in the future.
Now, there is a genuine man v. man antagonist of WIW, although she doesn't appear until a lot later in the story. And that would be the unnamed cult girl!
She's a "villain" born of a rescue she deserved but didn't get, radically built hatred towards the crossings between human and spiritual forces, and a belief that some heavy sacrifice is necessary to end it all forever. One of the highest-ranked operatives in the cult, she's got a lot of control over her spiritual frequencies and what can be controlled over them. That said, her main goal may be a surprising one: to fully kill/eliminate the deity and put a stop to the cult forever.
You might wonder why she's the antagonist if she has the same goal as our protagonists. And that's because of her methods. This girl is bitter, angry, and a strong extremist. She knows that trying to kill a deity is a heavy ask, so she's willing to make heavy sacrifice in order to end it. Besides, what she and the protagonists have in common is to protect people for the future. She simply thinks that eliminating the deity (and hopefully the cult with it) is the only way to do so forever.
Its some flawed thinking, as she blames the deity and not the people who follow it for the shit she's been through and what she has to do to stop it. She has good intentions, really- she doesn't want anyone to go through what she did. However, its sort of like a Thanos situation where she causes a lot of pain and suffering while believing it's for the best and will bring something better. None of that is what she needs though... what she needs is something she'll never admit: kindness and warmth and love and a normal life. She yearns for it, deep down, but suppresses the wishes in order to continue with her mission
Soooo yea, that's the gist of it atm
Tldr: 3-ish antagonists, all centered around a cult: the cult itself, the deity it worships, and one of the higher ups of the cult. However the deity isnt actually an adversary and is made to be that way by the unnamed cult girl

Possible spoiler-y talk abt TADC episode 6 below
I think if anyone is gonna abstract or die, it's gonna be Caine.
Not to say I wouldn't be surprised if, say, Jax did actually abstract. But I feel like a lot of people are kinda overlooking things with Caine, especially that final glitch at the scene after the credits
I don't remember anything else really like it, with the splits of red and blue. I personally kinda see it as the split between his "normal", showlike, dramatic self and his rage, such as when he screamed at Zooble. It kinda reminds me of Unikitty tbh.
But other than that, I think back a lot onto Gooseworx answering one ask in particular abt the meaning of TADC: She said it was something about finding meaning in a stagnant life, with stagnant essentially meaning still, or dull, or unmoving.
This entire time, Caine has been trying to keep the circusfolk going. He's sending them on wild adventures, having them do all sorts of crazy things, betrayals, etc. All of it just keeps them going and going and going. He doesn't seem to know how to be stagnant.
I wonder if not being able to have that stagnant side also contributes to abstraction, as if all the adventures and horrors experienced without any true meaning or break added on to the mindbroken aspect of it all
I'm really excited to see the next episodes. I think in the end, Caine will be the main antagonist, but not because he wants to be. It's because he truly doesn't understand how being human just sometimes is enjoying the dull moments. Hell, maybe it'll be Pomni who helps him realize that.
Also on a different smaller note, I wonder if Caine isn't ENTIRELY entirely human bc of those pictures he was looking at in episode 6. That or he's reminiscing on the people who created him, like an adopted kid wondering who their parents are
Idk man Im tired lol

The Camilo illustration is finally finished :] I think it consumed my soul in the process this took a while I'm very proud of how this turned out tho!! It's been a while since I drew something this detailed
Yapping about the harp fakemon fella below in case you're curious!
It's called Harparition (harp + apparition, very smart) and it's Camilo's new ace. I've had it in my head for a while and have some drafts of its design but I think this is the final version.
It's a dual Ghost/Fairy type because it's similar to Flabebé/Floette and Klefki's deals in the sense that it's a fairy/spirit haunting an object. In this case, a harp. Its lore is that the spirit of a deceased harper is haunting his instrument, and lays a curse on anyone who tries to play the harp. Its ribbon-like body is actually made of paper, where the harper's now trashed compositions had been written. Its head is meant to also look like a lily flower because white lillies are funeral flowers.
Its signature ability is Posthumous, which slightly boosts Ghost type moves for every ally that has fainted in battle. Posthumous is a word used to describe works that were published after the author's death (can you tell I put a lot of unnecessary thought into this). Also because of its lore I think it could also have Cursed Body as its secondary ability, but Posthumous is its signature one and the one that Camilo's Harparition has.
It has only one other stage which is its pre-evo, Lyralma (lyre + alma which means "soul" in portuguese). It's a little lyre fella... admittedly I'm not as proud of its design as I am of Harparition, I still have to perfect it.
Also, much like Banette, I think the lore about the deceased harper would be more like a folk tale in the Pokémon universe rather than the actual lore of the pokémon bc you know... there would be multiple Harparition and they all evolve from Lyralma (Banette's lore about being born from abandoned dolls completely ignores Shuppet too)
Its design is not perfect by any means and I have no doubt it would get torn to shreds by the Pokémon fandom if it breached containment/was thought to be an official design, but I love this fakemon a lot. Idk I just had a lot of fun figuring out its lore and ability. I am still very proud of the idea of naming it Posthumous ahstieifhksb
