CHILDHOOD FRIENDS - Alastair & Thinya (ft @monarchofthedamned)
Alastair and Thinya knew each other since the earliest stages of childhood. Her father, Count Thingar Somerville, was a dear friend of the King and together with his wife, they often visited the Royal Couple. Thingar would often take commissions and craft the most unique and breathtaking pieces for the King, as well as the Queen.
It was in this particular context that Thinya and Alastair became friends. Both used to play in the gardens, laugh and be carefree. When she wouldn't see her dear friend for more than a week, Thinya would ask to go and meet him. It seemed that this friendship was quite endearing to both couples, who were proud to see their children so close.
Alas, when tragedy hit and the village was invaded by the enemy, Count Thingar, his wife and their youngest son died while trying to escape from the swords. Thinya, in the middle of the chaos, had lost herself and managed to hide in the forest, waiting until all of this was over. It was only when she saw the outcome, the dead bodies of her friends, neighbors and her family that Thinya understood: she lost everything.
After years of wandering the lands, trying to search for gems to craft and sell so she could eat something and sleep in an inn, Thinya returned to the village. A new generation of inhabitants installed themselves and rebuild the little town. Thinya was gracefully welcomed, everybody knew who she was. She managed to reestablish a shop and work every single day in crafting unique pieces. Just like her father.
It was on an autumn day that her life changed again. While she was melting silver to form a ring, Thinya heard some of the villagers scream: "The King! The King is here! He's injured!". Without hesitation, Thinya dropped her work and walked fast to the entry of the village to see him. Alastair. Her heart skipped a beat as she immediately looked at all the other villagers. "I'll take care of him, please return to your occupations."
While tending to his wounds, Thinya would detail her dear old friend but remain quiet. It was years since they last saw each other, he probably forgot her. Besides, now that he was the King, everything was different. There were codes to respect. It was when she finished closing up his wound and asking him to be careful that her green hues looked at him with all the tenderness that she had.
Before parting from him, Thinya hesitated in telling him who she was. She refrained herself and simply said: "Please, be careful Your Majesty. I wouldn't wish for you to be harmed in this forest." With those words, Thinya slowly turned around and returned to her shop, ready to resume her life.
Only one thing was now different: her heart that ceased beating the day she lost her whole family restarted pounding in her chest. A soft smile came across her face as she felt happy to see that her dear friend was well.

Thinya smiled at Hunter and rolled her eyes.
"Right."
She chuckled and looked at the graves one last time, feeling her heart quite heavy with sorrow at the thought of not having seen her family for the past decades. She sighed and just heard Hunter's suggestion.
"Oh, that would be such a lovely idea.." She whispered, looking back at the graves. "Although I always believed that they aren't only here, but everywhere. So no matter which place we choose, I am sure they will join." She said, knowing that the grave wasn't the only place her family was in.
Slowly gathering her belongings, Thinya pressed her lips against her fingers before slowly touching the grave. "I'll see you soon, I love you three..." She smiled sadly before slowly walking away.
"Oh I can't wait to let your family know." She said, looking down at her engagement ring with pride.
Before they entered the castle, Thinya turned around and looked at Hunter. She decided to open her heart to him. "I love you, Hunter. I love you with all my heart. I am so honored and touched to be your wife soon." She said, resting both of her hands on his chest as she looked up at him in the eyes. "I can't wait to be part of your life, and of Sunny's. I would love to adopt her officially and make her my daughter."
It was true. Now that she was going to marry Hunter, Thinya wanted to adopt Sunny as well. She wanted to offer her a united family.
Slowly kissing his lips one last time, Thinya entered back the castle, feeling the warmth of the fireplace in the hall. Holding Hunter's hand, Thinya noticed most of the family sitting by the fireplace, warming themselves. "Hello..." Thinya said almost shyly as she stood by Hunter's side.
The prince pouted jokingly as Thinya kissed his lips.
"Well, better late than never, right?"
Huter replied as the wind lightly russled the branches about the couple.
"I sure hope so, cause would be a bit awkward if not."
He chuckled feeling the woman melt into him.
"Maybe we can have the ceremony here. That way, they can be a part of your big day?"
The man added, rubbing her back, as the temperature dropped.
"Sure, looks we might just beat the storm."
He replied, gathering up their belongings.
"Oh, I'm sure she'll be absolutely ecstatic, I think the only who'd be more thrilled will be Mom. She loves planning stuff like this .

@stardstschlar asked: tell me what you know . / this can be after he wakes up in her time. He's probably thinking she saw what happened.
Her debut at the Royal Court were quite overwhelming. After being raised in a noble family, her father decided that it was time for her to be introduced to the King and the Queen. Count Somerville had the hope that his dear daughter would make her debuts and perhaps become one of the Queen's ladies. This would certainly secure a decent match for her, and a bright future ahead. The plan of reinforcing his business, as well as good relations with the royal family became a priority to him. Thinya, on the other hand, was slightly nervous. She had heart about the King's behavior, how one should never object his requests. She prayed deep inside to be protected from any odd request he would have.
The royal ball was crowded, there were so many people that her head was spinning. So many greetings, lips kissing her pale skinned hand, eyes on her. It seemed that she was attracting a few pair of eyes, which was unusual to her. After asking for permission to simply walk outside, Thinya managed to reach the gardens. She was followed by her maid, just to make sure that she wouldn't find herself in a compromising situation. It was at that moment that Thinya head a loud thud. Startled by what may have caused such disruption, the young woman walked closer to see what happened. It was there that she saw an unknown man. His voice commanding her to tell him what she knew made her frown.
"Good evening, sir." Thinya said, slightly offended to hear someone avoiding any polite formality. "I am afraid I might not be of good help. I simply heard the loud thud the moment I walked out of this door." She explained before adding. "Are you okay? Can we help you?" She asked, unsure why and how he ended up in those gardens.

Her heart was pounding in her chest as she heard the Prince pronounce his words as well. When she first saw him a few minutes before, Thinya figured that he was at least a young and handsome man. Her heart softened as she felt relieved not to be assigned to an older man. Alastair seemed to be kind, she could see it in his eyes. This marriage was an alliance, but she hoped that they could make more than a simple alliance and work on a genuine story.
As he returned her words by promising the same thing, Thinya smiled, feeling his chaste kiss on her cheek. She appreciated how gentle and respectful he was. Most men would've kissed her on the lips, Alastair decided to be a gentleman. Her smile grew fonder as she whispered: "Thank you, you are very kind and respectful. If I may be bold, I can say that I appreciate this." She gently wrapped her arm around his, ready to face the crowd by his side.
Her new life was about to start, and her heart filled with hope at the idea that Alastair was a kindhearted man. Her smile grew and she was now genuinely excited.
āI do.ā Alastair said in his turn.
Alastairās tone was, for lack of a better term, hopeful despite the fact this was an arranged marriage, one for the betterment of their kingdoms ā an alliance specifically. He had fought the arrangement, even pointing out his elder sister ā the future Queen ā wasnāt being forced to wed. This mattered not, as he would be the next ruler after his sister, and thus needed heirs. He offered Thinya, his wife, a soft and kind smile.
āAnd I shall do my best to honor you and tend to my duties as well,ā he swore to Thinya, kissing her cheek chastely but with enough hope behind it that the woman should notice it.

Thinya smiled at her husband as he agreed that they could have some time alone. She chuckled and caressed his face sweetly before adding. "I am looking forward to having this time away with you." It was true: ever since they married, Thinya was eager to enjoy her time with Lucien. Discover other landscapes, cultures, laugh and be carefree. Perhaps consider starting their own family? The woman wanted to simply reconnect with the love of her life. "I am sure that your brother will be brilliant with the estate. Is there a destination you would be so eager to see?"
" That sounds delightful." Lucien agreed, they needed some time away from everyone, just the two of them to enjoy each others company without the worries that carried while his family was around, it would do them so good. " I can't see why not, I think we should preparations Arthur can look lover the estate while we are traveling, I think we both have earned a break from all of this."

Thinya laughed at his tease and just shook her head. "I can see that. I am glad that I won't have to wait ten more years to be your wife." She teased in return before kissing his lips.
The wind calmed down while snow fell harder.
"I believe you just got their approval. For sure, they would be rooting for us." She said, a hint of sadness invading her green hues for a few seconds as she realized that they won't be physically here to witness her union with Hunter.
Feeling him wrap his cloak around her, Thinya smiled and kissed his neck before looking at the beautiful ring.
"It's absolutely perfect, I should thank Toby for working all night long and for Sunny too." She smiled, wondering how would be her reaction about their marriage.
"I am eager to tell her the big news." She laughed lightly as she stayed in Hunter's arms while looking at the graves of her family.
"I love you Hunter." Thinya whispered, feeling her while body now melting into his arms. The cold increased as the storm was now moving closer. She shivered and whispered: "Let's go home.. I believe we got the blessing."
Hunter barely had a chance to react as his fiancee dragged him up, pressing her lips to his as he chuckled while pulling the woman closer.
"Hey, I can be quick when I have to be!"
He joked as the air began to pick up, covering the couple with a delicate layer of snow from the nearby tree
"Hopefully, that means your family approves."
The prince added, wrapping the pelt lined cloak snuggly around Thinya.
"I hope you like the ring, Toby worked on it all night, and, Sunny suggested carving your favorite flowers inside the band."
He added, showing her the sweet little details.
"Wel technically didn't tell her what it was for. She only knew it was being made for you."

Thinya heard the man tell her that it was okay and looked at him in the eyes. She bowed respectfully, as she always did with men. "I should've looked where I was heading to. My need of getting some fresh air made me forget to look around." She said with a light chuckle. It looked like she was desperately running away from all the possible suitors who wanted to have a dance with her.
As he introduced himself, the woman smiled and looked at him kindly. "Fiyero Tigelaar. That's an uncommon and beautiful name actually, if I may say." She didn't mean to compliment him in any flirty way. She was simply genuine: this name was unknown to her and very beautiful.
His comment about not knowing her made her chuckle. She looked down and simply answered: "My father is Count Somerville, the jeweler of most people attending this place. I would love to take the business once he retires, I craft my own jewels as well." She explained before adding: "I believe it's the first time I make an official appearance here. I tried to avoid this at all costs but my father gave me no other choice." She paused, fighting the urge to roll her eyes. "So here I am, already trying to hide in the gardens because I do not want to get stepped on my toes or hear lousy jokes."
Royal Balls weren't the type of party that Fiyero enjoyed. He needed something less glamorous and something more fun. Something adventurous and not so classy The formalities were tiresome - and that was him putting it lightly. Having to be someone he wasn't didn't sit well with him.
Deciding that he needed a break, was just leaving the ballroom, not really paying attention as he has other things in his mind - mainly getting some fresh air away from all the tension in the room - when he founds himself crashing into someone. Not his classiest moment. Hopefully no one else was around to witness that or he would get an earful later.
"No, no it's okay miss..." He gives her a good look over, realizing that he doesn't recognize her in the slightest and he knows everyone that would be here tonight, he's seen them more than enough. With the straighten of his shoulders, he extended his hand towards her with a soft welcoming smiling playing on his lips. There he goes again, having to play the part of a charming yet sophisticated prince. "Fiyero Tigelaar. I know everyone around these parts and I must say that I haven't seen you around here before. May I get your name?"

She looked down as she heard his words and took a deep breath. Those past few weeks, Thinya barely saw Lucien. She understood that work was keeping him busy, as well as his family. She accepted and stayed quiet. However, she missed greatly her husband and was eager to have a moment with him. After all, they were married, they also had their own life together to look at.
"I just thought that it would be wonderful to have some time away with my husband." She wrapped her arms around his neck and added. "Just the two of us. And a fireplace and wine." She added and laughed lightly.
" We are both blessed then to have her on our side." Lucien warps his arms around his wife, pulling her to him." I know that my work has been keeping me busy and that it hasn't been easy." He sighs." My family can be a bit much." It was true that Lucien adored his family greatly but they could be a handful at times and while him and Arthur seemed to be getting along better, there was still times were they didn't see eye to eye.
" Travel?" He looks at Thinya." That sounds wonderful actually, just the two of us."

Thinya saw the ring and was speechless. It looked so perfect, incredibly beautiful. Her heart skipped a beat as he mentioned he had prepared a speech at first.
As he pronounced those words, her heart melted. It's been years that Thinya was dreaming of that moment. Years imagining him asking her to marry him and making her his.
Her green hues filled with tears as she just smiled endearingly at her one and only. Of course she would marry him, there was no other thought in her mind than becoming his own wife. It would be an honor as well.
"Of course I will marry you, Hunter!" She expressed as she pulled him so he could now stand back on his feet.
She cupped his face and kissed him deeply, letting a few tears roll down her cheeks. She laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck before whispering. "It was about time!" She chuckled.
Suddenly, the wind blew wilder, snowflakes surrounded them. It felt as if her parents and brother were there, witnessing her happiness and approving it. She laughed lightly and hid in Hunter's arms, feeling so incredibly happy of finally becoming soon his wife.
"I had a whole speech planned, and, of course, my brain decides to not cooperate, so I guess the traditional route will have to do."
Hunter chuckled presenting Thinya with the golden wrapped band that Toby made.
"Thinya Somerville, will you do me the greatest honor in becoming my wife?"
The prince asked his dark green eyes looking up into hers.
"I know this isn't a traditional proposal, though we kinda past that a while ago, but I love you, and I don't want to waste another second without you."
He added, honestly, feeling a bit nervous.
"So will you marry me?"
