"When I'm pure like a dove
When I've learned how to love
Right here
In the old therebefore
When nothing is left anymore" - The Old Therebefore (Lucy Gray)
Oohh... bitchh... just re-listened to this BANGER and I haven't seen anyone mention that, in the new book, (Sunrise on the Reaping) we get a new Covey girl called Lenore DOVE. That dove did learn how to love, with Haymitch. In District 12, where nothing was left anymore. Lenore Dove, who wore scraps of Lucy Gray's dress,,, the fact that this song is a funeral song, too, and she dies in the end, right there, in the old therebefore, with him... Susanne Collins you beautiful insane woman I need inside your brain immediately 😭😭
anyways I'm probably reading too far into this. but like. it's there.

gang the arcane brainrot got too good.
so headcannons it is. And character study beacuse my ass is never beating the allegations.
starting off with my schizophrenic princess Jinx
- she definitely did not know she was the favorite for Silco. This is literally a whole arc, I feel like, with her. From my foggy-ish recall of my first watch, Jinx didn't know Silco did the eye thing without her sometimes. She's older, she tries to rebel. It's a thing. That's like, half the plot of the first arc. And she, by the end, looks back and realizes just how much she was really loved. Like a lot of us do, I think.
- Jinx would have totally begged for a cat. A black one, specifically. Silco tried really, really hard to say no. He's the leader of Zaun, he's intimidating, cruel-
- so they have a cat named Lucky. It's a black cat, with a little spot of white in the middle of her chest. And Jinx absolutely dotes on this cat. Or tries to, anyways. The cat is a bit feral at first. But it settles in.
- Jinx and Ekko were SO CUTE IM GONNA CRY. LISTEN THEY, THEY GET A HAPPY ENDING THIS TIME, IGNORE CANON- 😭
Jinx never had someone who chose her and stayed. Silco was great, don't get me wrong. 10/10 dad. But I would argue he didn't choose Jinx. Jinx came to him. Jinx chose him, not the other way around. And he put her above all else after that.
- My point being, Ekko did. He stayed. He found a world that was perfect, everything he had wanted - and he left. For Jinx. And Jinx, this time, had to be the one to let him in again.
- AND ITS SO FULFILLING THAT JINX HELPED SAVE THE WORLD. NO, NO, HEAR ME OUT PLEASE.
In our world, we saw the moment Jinx's trust, her hope in a good life, was shattered by Vi picking Kaitlyn over her, and her dad dying by her hands. She's on that bridge, her dad died, the one constant in her life - and she fires the missile.
But then we see Ekko in the perfect world. Where Jinx could afford to trust in a future. A future she keeps pushing away. To help people. She trusts him, and she helps. And they create the time-travel. And Ekko saves the world, sure. My favorite boy Savior.
But in the end, it was her tech, too.
The narrative... is consuming me...
- Anyways! It's Jinx and Viktor time. They would be the absolute best chaotic besties to ever serve.
- Viktor matches her crazy to an INSANE degree. Like this girl helped invent time travel, a whole ass arm, and a NUKE. I'm never letting anyone forget that thing. And he makes it 10x worse. Like, she says one thing and now they're throwing the Hex crystals into anything they can get their gremlin paws onto.
- I believe Jayce would try, for like three seconds, to mediate. Then he offhandedly corrects their math or something and they turn to him with a wicked grin and he just melts into the floor and wants to die.
- Jinx would create bigger, bolder ideas until eventually Jayce manhandles the two into getting some rest (for once). They are NOT happy about it, don't you DARE assume so. Even when they're very cozy in their onezies.

very very intriguing!!!!! I think it works if they're kinda,,, ambivalent? They do what corresponds with their domain, and they do it with either pride or absolute neutrality. It's fate, yk? You can cut all the bad parts of their domain out, have them not do it, but something else would. If it isn't Apollo's plague, it's the Nosoi. And they won't help. But Apollo might. In a way, I kinda see it as a necessary evil. It would be harder to do some of their helpful domains if it's a more wild thing. They can still be okay people to those they favor, but they're not human. I think it kinda boils down to empathy. If you turn it into sport, it is cruel, and it makes you seem monstrous. If you're empathetic, it's still a horrible act. BUT! It brings meaning to it, frames it as a necessary evil. The easiest example I can give you is Aphrodite. She views drama and breakup as entertainment. She likes people if they have hardships beacuse they're *entertaining*. And that seems cruel, to us. But those breakups still would've happened, it's how she views the event that makes it so cruel. Instead, if she tried to be more sympathetic, it would seem better. "It made for a good love story, but I really feel for her. I wish she had a happy ending/I'm glad she got her happy ending." It seems better, instead of, "oh, that story is so entertaining. Pity what happened to her and everything." It sounds,,,, impersonal. Like her comments on percabeth. They're a good love story, not people. You can still make them undergo hardship, and instead say, "I'm truly sorry things had to be this way." Not, "ooh, your trauma was for my entertainment, mainly, but I feel so baddd". It's kinda how you say it and if you mean it. A good example of this put into practice would be if Apollo explained the black death better. He said he was irritated that the Nosoi infected everyone while he was away, and left it there. But, if he said, "I was so irritated and upset. I promise, nothing of the sort will happen again." It sounds kinda like an apology, you are still upset, but you're also not really apologizing. It's that kinda halfway ambivalence, halfway empathetic that would be nice to see. So uh yeah this has been a ramble! Thank you for the interesting point, I had never really thought of it ^^
Okay but, might be an unpopular opinion but I don't really want Apollo becoming a Good Person™. Like. Let him keep killing people. Please
He's a very contradictory god, not only in PJO (I made a post about about how much he contradicts himself), but also in mythology in general. He's the god of medicine but also the god of plagues, for example
In PJO, what I want him to be like is a better person. Not good, bc he's still a god and he's still quite literally made out of human minds and human minds are not completely good, but still better
I want him to visit his children, to acknowledge that some of the stuff he did was fucked up, etc etc etc. But I want him to be all that while still, idk, killing entire cities with plagues. Because he's the god of plagues. Come on
Like— he's the plague that killed your family but he is also the doctor that saved your dog. You get what I'm trying to say?? Gods are essentially what they're the gods of (Ares is war, Dionysus is insanity, for example) and that means that they are not fully good, but still sometimes necessary
Here's the thing about sickness: it's unfair, and it takes people away from you, not caring if they deserve it or not. And here's the thing about healing: it's needed, and there are so many versions of it it's almost impossible to know the exact number. Healing is something good. But you need something bad for it to work. You can't be healed from sickness if the sickness doesn't exist
And there are so many contradictions that come only w bring the god of the sun
The sun burns. It's deadly. Nothing can get close to it without burning to the ground, and being under its light for too long can literally give you cancer. But the sun is also warm. We need it to survive; we use its light to see, it inspires us to make art, its heat is the only reason we're still alive
Idk if I'm explaining myself very well, but I need Apollo (and the rest of the gods) to still be morally gray instead of suddenly becoming Good People. They need to become better. Not good. Just better

you clearly have the biggest brain holy wow
they would fight on food afterwards!! Meg wanting Lester to eat beacuse he's never really gone hungry and she has, and his argument is always "but you're smaller and need more nutrients." eventually he just chews gum beacuse it tricks his brain into thinking he's full. it's cheap and lasts a while! this gum development happens after he meets Lavinia, but he used tricks like that earlier, just with hard candy!!
also, whenever they stay in abandoned buildings, they turn it into hideouts for the homeless/stray demigods because they would okay!! they leave like little bits of ambrosia (since I think it's only mentioned a few times in the 1st and 3rd books they like to leave some) how do they find the stuff to turn it into a proper hideout, you ask? they find an Amazon base, zoom call with Hylla, and she likes the idea, so they give her the location, stay for a bit as they set everything up, and then leave (Hylla remembers what it was like for her and Reyna, and think it would have been really helpful, so shes swayed. Meg helped beacuse she had respect as a female warrior, so they listened to her easier)
Meg definitely learned some medicine from him!! (she also never forgot the acid trick he used on the door in the 2nd book). at first, she kinda never checked on him, beacuse he always said he was fine and could treat himself, but she did it in secret. Of course she would scan for injuries, and so would he, but she didn't know how exactly to treat them until later in the series. But, early in the series, he would be so tired, a couple extra bandages that he didn't put on could've just been something he forgot!! totally!!! she does it in plain sight after the 4th book, beacuse she just gets worried. He's so proud she learned medicine from/for him. He mother hens all the time, he makes sure she's treated first before him!!
he dosent even know he mirrors Meg until they do it in sync. she fidgets, he fidgets. he does it in secret as a god, it makes him feel closer to her, and also Zeus wouldn't approve of him initiating a mortal, of all things. One day, he hears her misuse one of his fancy words, and teaches her how to properly use it. she uses them a lot around him, and he does it every time. he loves helping her learn, and literally never realizes he said those words to her until some of the campers literally tell him that Meg sounds a lot like him, word choice wise, and he's so confused at first, but then he listens a little more carefully, and realizes, and he's so happy. he cries to Artemis about it for an hour. Artemis definitely does not go to Meg afterward and demand a list of those words, no sir. She also does not write words down he seems to like in a poetry sense and shares them with Meg so they can use some of his favorites. she would neverrr do that, that's crazy,,,,
anyways they bond and mimic each other its super cute!!! he grows a little garden outside his house on Olympus with some of megs and Artemis's favorite plants. somehow, the center of the garden is a laurel tree, with a ring of hyacinths around the tree. He did not plant those, and he has no idea where they came from. When Hades gets a full tour, (he needs to know where everything is, or at least that's Apollo's logic) he senses strong spiritual energy from both plants. it almost feels like the tree is the original tree that Daphne turned into, and it feels like the exact hyacinth he was turned into. it's almost like Eros was feeling guilty for Daphne, and Zephros for hyacinthus when they heard his song in the mortal world (beacuse that much grief definitely drew attention from Eros at least, and he probably told Zephros). so they tried to do something nice. The tree dosent feel malicious, which is a shocker. It feels tired. The hyacinths feel sad. Longing, even. One day, Apollo sits down and just pours everything out to them. All his sorrows, all his regret, everything. The next time Hades comes to visit (beacuse he remembers the almost-kindness he was shown by him, for taking the time to do a tour and talking with him) he notices the plants don't feel like anything. The energy he felt rests with apollo now. It almost feels like they're waiting with him, to have a proper conversation.
Also I just got way off topic sorry!!! anyways I love your ideas!!! these are just my silly take on them ^^
in light of me being a little silly, a little sillier, and finally reaching my silliest peak, I would like to introduce my favorite cringefail loser and give you headcannons about him
- Lester still had slightly purple veins after the possession. it was barely noticeable, but his blood, and therefore his veins, were a little darker. he just never points this out
- Lester had a little bit of a scuffle trying to get to California in the burning maze, and he literally never told anyone. just as a little silly. this is why he wanted maple lemon cronuts. he got in a fight at some random bakery (beacuse he wanted to get food for everyone) and he managed to snag food for everyone but himself
- Apollo visits Sweet on America, the place Sally used to work, and he'll get different candies his kids like, or he thinks they'll like. he is surprisingly successful at this, and now he keeps candy on his person at all times, like a grandma does
- Lester's complaints about memory loss were valid, for one. but the second thing? just for a lil spice, I think trying to access those memories hurts him just a little, enough for the brain to try and block those memories out. that's why his memory is super faulty. his brain is literally working against him
- Lester is checked over by Meg after every fight they have after The Big Stab™️, and she feels extra guilty when she finds out how tarquin was turning him into a zombie
- Lester was separated from Meg in a crowd once, while they were getting to the Tower of Nero. he flipped his ever-loving shit and proceeded to yell her name so loud he broke a window. Meg never got separated from him again
- Meg will do this thing where she will mispronounce words on purpose beacuse she knows that it annoys Lester. Lester eventually uses those mispronounciations in multiple haikus, and presents them to Meg in a written and stage performance. Meg has never been so annoyed and so touched in her life once she remembers that those were her mispronounciations. she then demands financial compensation for her words being used in said haikus
- Apollo (post ToA) does actually help herophile start some game shows. he gets her a nice setup and everything, and she soon becomes well known for her successful shows, both on normal channels and Hephestus TV.
- Meg eventually goes out and sees the ToA books on some bookstore shelves, and buys the entire series. she gets a lot of secondhand embarrassment due to Lester sometimes, but she enjoys re-living some good memories with her dummy. plus she likes hearing what the Arrow of Dodona actually had to say.
- Conversely, Apollo literally shrivels up in a ball when he finds out that Meg read the entire book series. he just lays there with his hands over his face while his kids swarm Meg to get her to show them the books. Apollo does not want to live through that, but he stays as they read the entire story. they all end up in a massive cuddle pile by the end
- Eventually, Artemis meets Meg. she kinda likes her by the end, but is somewhat jealous of the sibling relationship she has with Apollo. Apollo just likes seeing his two sisters get along. Meg, however, is a little conflicted as well. This is her annoying dummy, and someone else telling Apollo that, even in jest, grates on her a little (unless he deserved it. then she adds on)
- Apollo really likes fries. The big reason is they are cheap, and he would get a meal with the money they had at some gas station or fast food place, and give Meg the meal and just eat (and share) the fries. He did this right up to The Burning Maze, but only beacuse Aloe Vera kinda snitched on him to Grover. Aloe Vera only found out when she saw him climbing back down into the maze to eat the strawberries.
- Meg was super upset when she found out about the fry thing. Apollo insisted he was fine, and that he didn't need as much food as her, since she was still growing. She was a little more mad when she realizes she had been growing food that was meant to help in combat, and Apollo had to double back to get some, or he went hungry.

I LOVE MONSTER HIGHHHHHH AHHHHHH
so here are some headcannons/movie ideas beacuse we deserve movies like the originals
- If Elizabat had died, Draculara would have actually been the Vampire Queen
- On that note, I think the Vampire's Heart picks two candidates, and whoever is best suited for ruling will be the one the Heart chooses to follow, so if one dies, the Heart just follows to the other person
- In a stipulation included in the contract Clawdeen signed, the one chosen in the competition would inherit Monatella Ghostier's company and fortune if she were to die, making it more believable that she was "passing on" her company.
- Clawdeen now owns a fashion company, long story short, and she collabs with Jinafire and Skelita to help make fashion designs for the company. Everything else is taken care of until Clawdeen is of age
- Lagoona runs a swim team that tries to unite saltwater and freshwater monsters, along with Gil. She also helps monsters get over their fears.
- Ghoulia runs a quiz bowl and mathlete team! Her and Frankie are some of the star members, along with Jackson Hyde and Heath!
- Speaking of Heath, I feel like he gets surprisingly good grades, and knows a lot of random facts
- Frankie plays volleyball! She's pretty good at it, actually. one of her main reasons was she wants to improve her strength in limbs, since Frankenstein's are typically really strong monsters. Plus, she wants to get stronger so her limbs don't keep flying off whenever she falls. The fearleading team is good for some of that, but volleyball gives her stamina and concentration, since her limbs are more prone to flying off when she's tired.
- Abby loves making traditional food for her friends, along with ice cream and desserts. She specializes in colder dishes, like cold soup and other things served cold, but she's good at everything, really.
- She knows exactly what temperature the food is when she touches it, and it works with any object, really.
- Cleo offers to show the girls around Egypt and the Pyramids, and they learn that Cleo caught the attention of the next Pharaoh, and he funds a lot of her shopping. She dosen't know how to feel, since she loves Deuce, but she also feels obligated to the Pharaoh.
- If this was a movie, the lesson would be about toxic couples, and how Cleo goes back to Deuce because she shouldn't be obligated to date the Pharaoh because he buys her stuff. It also features Deuce not feeling good enough against the Pharaoh, and Cleo showing that she loves him for him, not what he provides.
- It would be kinda similar to Boo York, but since it already happened, he would be grappling with an issue that's already been "resolved". It would show that some issues take time to heal, and even then, they might not fully heal.
- All of the girls would've slayed at Just Dance and we should've gotten an episode or movie about friendly competition to teach kids to be good sports.
- The movie would focus on a schoolwide competition, and show different ways to be kind to your opponent and the people being unkind, how to spot it, and how to stop it. They showed that a little in the rollerblading movie, but I think it would be good to focus on it more
- Frankie being non-binary in the reboot is actually really cool, and that is now canon thank you. It would be a good lesson on how people can struggle with dysphoria and would just be really cool to focus on that on a movie, like how she discovered it, her friends being supportive, the whole coming out experience.
MOVING ON FROM POTENTIAL MOVIES BEACUSE I TORTURE MYSELF WITH POSSBILITES AND I CANNOT DO IT ANYMORE
- Spectra grows up to be the new principal of the ghost school. She brings good quality education to the school, and causes major reform in ghost society and how they view other monsters.
- Abby always has candy in her purse for her ghoulfriends
- whenever the girls go out to eat, they always pick a place with vegetarian options for Draculaura
- Clawdeen almost got expelled for fighting students when she was younger. They insulted her friends and family and she went nuts. To this day students are scared of her. But she's a lot calmer now, and prefers to solve her problems with words. Get her mad enough though, and she will start swinging.
- Draculaura is a pacifist!
- Ghoulia has little plants growing on her body. She's a reanimated corpse, so her body is stuck in a rotting phase, it just dosen't rot anymore. It rots slowly until she's barely skin on bones, and then she fades into the dirt and decomposes. (That's how zombies die.) Anyways! she's just rotted enough to support moss/fungus life, and she loves her plant children
IV'E GOTTA STOP THIS IS TOO LONG✋️

headcannons for Apollo and Meg after all the books beacuse all I've been doing for the past days are spinning these scrunkly guys around in my head at terminal velocity <3
- Meg always carries a pack of sunflower seeds with her when she goes to school.
- Whenever Meg takes ancient history and they cover Greece, she manages the worst grade beacuse Apollo tells her facts that the book literally dosent know and he thinks it's blasphemy that's she's failing.
- Apollo will literally never shut up about his kids now. he hears literally the smallest detail that reminds him of them and he talks for hours about them
- Artemis is around Apollo a lot more, and she's definitely more protective/worried about him. Apollo likes the extra time he gets with her.
- Apollo returned Paolo's bandanna, but definitely not before finding one for himself. he wears it everywhere, Artemis has tried to burn it like 20 times, but somehow it always returns to Apollo in one piece.
- Apollo cannot physically hear or look anything in a shakesperian accent without wanting to commit mass destruction/cry
- Meg never gets sunburnt. like ever. plus, her crops always manage to get the right balance of sun without her help.
- One day, Meg manages to teleport directly to Apollo. As it turns out, since Apollo got himself up out of Chaos, no one ever really broke the master/servant bond. Apollo conveniently does not mention this until the last moment possible, beacuse he likes feeling connected to Meg, even when he's away.
- Apollo kept his scars. In doing so, older scars seem to pop up, that he was definitely sure he didn't get while he was mortal. They cover his body, and he can't seem to get rid of them without the ones he got while being mortal going away too. So, he hides them, and only shows off the ones he got as a mortal.
- Apollo is allowed to visit Rachel, beacuse he wants to prevent something like Python from happening to his oracles again.Zeus buys this, but only beacuse he weighs in with Athena first. Athena was totally not bribed into this by Apollo with actual intellectual discussions, no sir.
- On a totally unrelated note, he tries to connect with Athena more. They have little discussions about different topics every week or two.
- Apollo likes trying to connect with all his Olympian family. He realizes that they all suffered under Zeus, and if they are closer, like an actual family, maybe it will lessen the blows.
- Meg somehow never gets sick. it is both a blessing and a curse, since she always has to care for her siblings when they are sick
- For some odd, very mysterious reason, whenever Apollo visits Rachel, his kids or Meg are ever-present, and after he visits for some time (some days he visits longer, others it is shorter) they just pop in. weird, but since he's here visiting his Pythia, and technically not his kids, Zeus isn't gonna pay that much attention to mortals
- Since Apollo's sacred animal (one of them, anyway) is a red cow, it's totally not far fetched that it falls within his duties to check on the herd at the Waystation. After all, what God wouldn't check on their sacred animal! some mortals might mistreat them, after all!! and since he needs to talk to the owners,, he might as well catch up with them, right?
- Camp Jupiter is totally in need of more renovations, right? and it makes sense that such a devoted group should deserve some kind of reward. plus, since Apollo made the mess with the whole war thing, it makes the most sense for him to go and help! and later, he needs to check that his work is top notch!
- Apollo always visits Meg on Sundays. Technically, he's visiting Herophile, since he needs to check on her too! she's an important oracle! but Meg lives there, so they are bound to run into each other, and it's totally not weird that these meetings take a day (or two) beacuse that's a mere blink in the eye, for a god, anyways.
