An illustrated poem I wrote for the jumping spider that rode on my windshield on my way to work. He did not hang on for the duration and I like to imagine he fashioned himself a parachute of silk, landing safely and building a new home.

ive been observing an old hammock web that’s been inactive all summer , and today when i opened it up i found 2 dead orbweavers of the same species in there, one large and one small. and i also found the molt of a jumping spider in there. and im like wtf happened here .. this is a spider crime scene

it was actually a combination of absentmindedness AND a design flaw in her terrarium… hard to explain but the door is smaller than the door slot so if you’re not careful it can get loose really easily. now that i’m aware of it i can be super cautious and also make adjustments to it but i also left a review on the product page warning ppl because like. this was almost devastating and i’d hate for this to happen to other spider owners.

god tho i feel like a parent whose kid snuck out & just feel overwhelming relief that she’s back in her safe lil box

BRO i just had a heart attack for 5 minutes bc for the first time ever in my entire life i left a spider terrarium door ajar before i left the house and topsy went on an adventure while i was gone.

BUT i found her sitting on Gumby’s light and im so happy she’s ok 😭 she’s home now . oh my god

i’m so glad Topsy is ok … i cried so hard dude i was really like inconsolable and then i saw her across the room just sitting on the LED light cuz it was warm, and looking at me with her silly little eyes .

and then when i DO sleep i ALWAYS have the most vivid insane and lore consistent dreams ever and i hate them lol this person on reddit describes it way better than i could

also when i say the narcolepsy stuff i am being serious and i do actually have a diagnosis, i only say that bc i know some ppl just use it as a descriptor for tiredness lol and i dont want that to be confusing. i was fortunate enough to be able to actually get diagnosed and it’s not an easy process so i dont doubt self diagnosis either i just dont want anyone to think im simply saying narcolepsy because im a lil sleepy

i have N2 which is narcolepsy without cataplexy & i don’t ever like unexpectedly or instantaneously fall asleep, it’s more like. i get fullbody all encompassing exhaustion and have to lay down in 5 minutes or i MIGHT fall asleep where im standing/sitting. and it’s just like constant lol which is why im struggling so hard to find a job that’ll work bc i can’t just be falling asleep at a 9-5. right now art is keeping me afloat which i am so thankful for but omg even with that i barely get any art finished promptly anymore bc it also makes me fall asleep
