what she means: how the hell did the barden bellas win the international a cappella competition against das sound machine? yeah, the bellas were decent and had the whole nostalgia thing, but it wasn't enough to realistically win over a majority foreign audience with no personal connection to the bellas and, as stated in the movie, an active hatred of america. regardless of all this, dsm had a catchier, more entertaining, and more fun performance. even those in the audience who were touched by the bellas performance would be more likely to vote for dsm because they had a better overall stage presence. movies generally require the audience to suspend their disbelief, but this was too much for me. there's no way the bellas should've won. dsm forever
