Danny Fenton’s Field Trip to the Ghost Zone!
I have had the wonderful opportunity to write a fic inspired by the art of the wonderful @arisu-artnfics as part of @ecto-implosion. I ended up thinking it would be fun to bring in a trope from a completely different fandom, and write a Peter Parker Field Trip fic for Danny Fenton. This is the final part of that fic. Enjoy!
Epilogue
Ao3 | First | Previous
Danny woke slowly at first. He snuggled into the warmth of his blanket, pulling it closer.
Then his memories of what had happened rushed to the front of his mind.
Dan! He threw his covers off with a yell, looking around panicked. Still not entirely awake, he searched the room for his alternate self.
“Danny!”
Who was that? Where was Dan!
“Whoa there Danny, calm down.”
What? Danny looked over at the other side of the room. Sam and Val were standing there. Val had her net gun out and pointed at him.
“Dan's gone, we're in Frostbite's clinic,” Sam said.
Danny took a look around the room. Sure enough he was standing, well technically floating, in one of the medical rooms in the Far Frozen.
Realizing that he had instinctively charged his fists he took a deep breath and relaxed, letting the gathered ectoplasm disperse.
He floated down to the ground and transformed back to his human form, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. “Sorry guys.”
Val chuckled, lowering her gun and letting it phase away. “All good Danny. No harm no foul and all that.” She smiled at him.
The door to the room opened and Danny turned to look to see who was coming through.
“Danny!” Danny barely managed to brace himself as Tucker tackled him in a hug. The two almost went spilling onto the ground. The other two came over and turned it into a group hug. Danny let himself fall into it, holding his friends close, just happy they were all alright.
Eventually the group pulled apart. “So is everyone alright? What happened with Dan?” Danny asked.
“Val sucked him up with the thermos,” Sam said. “We'll probably have to think of something more permanent eventually, since he managed to escape the last one, but he's taken care of for now.”
Danny slumped in relief. “Good. That's good. Is everyone else alright?”
Val shrugged. “Other than you? Everyone is fine. Dash got a minor concussion when the bus got hit, but he’ll be alright.”
Danny gave another sigh of relief. That was good to hear. “Thanks guys. I appreciate your help.”
“Any time dude.” Tucker said with a smile.
Danny pulled his friends back into another hug. There was still plenty to do, at some point he would have to face his classmates, and deal with the fact that they knew both Danny’s and Val’s secrets now. He would also have to talk to Frostbite about actually getting them home, and eventually figure out what to do about Dan.
Right now though he was just going to celebrate another fight won with his friends.
Danny laughed as a thought came to him.
“What’s so funny Danny?” Sam asked.
“Can you believe that all this started with a field trip to the Planetarium?”
His friends started laughing with him.
“What even is our lives man?” Tucker laughed.
“Hey! I didn’t get into nearly as much trouble before I joined you guys,” Val said. Her accusation didn’t really have any teeth with how she said it through her laughter.
“And yet you joined us anyway,” Sam said, laughing just as hard as the other two.
Danny couldn’t help the smile on his face. Yeah it had been a crazy trip, but hey, here they were, all laughing and in one piece. Still, Danny would love to hear a field trip story that could top theirs.

Enjoy!
Chapter 5: We’re Almost There!
Ao3 | First | Previous | Next
When Dash woke up it was to the sound of cheerful voices outside, and the green light of the Ghost Zone's sky.
He rubbed his eyes as he climbed off his cot. Grabbing his jacket, he looked around the bus. It looked like he wasn't the last one awake, but he was definitely close.
He carefully made his way out of the bus so he didn’t wake anyone. Outside several tables had been set up and his classmates were enjoying what appeared to be a strangely normal cafeteria breakfast.
He stepped off the bus to go find his friends, only for a little kid to fly straight through him. Before he could even flinch he was bowled over by Fenton crashing into him. He completely knocked Dash off his feet, which, even if he hadn't been braced for it, was slightly embarrassing for the star quarterback.
Dash heard a childish laugh and looked up to see a little blue skinned girl floating above them. “HA HA HA! Beware! I am Box Lunch! And you will never be able to catch me Danny!”
“Oh yeah squirt! Watch me!” Fenton pushed Dash off of him and lunged at the little ghost. “Tickle attack!” He grabbed her and tickled her sides, sending the girl into peals of laughter.
“Stop Stop!” The girl eventually said through her laughter. Danny laughs and stops his tickles to lift the girl onto his shoulder, making her giggle again. “Come on Box Lunch, let's get you back to your parents.”
He turned to look at Dash. “Grab some breakfast Dash. Dora called Lunch Lady over after the storm. She designed the menu at Casper High way back in the day, so it should all be pretty familiar,” Danny said, walking off with a giggling ghost girl on his shoulders.
Dash was left slightly baffled, but with nothing else to do, he pulled himself up off the ground and made his way over to his friends, grabbing one of the trays of breakfast on the way over.
“Hey guys,” he said, sitting down with the other A-Listers.
“Hey Dash, how'd you sleep?” Star asked.
He shrugged. “I've slept worse I guess.”
Paulina whined. “I knowwww. Those beds were so uncomfortable!”
Kwan chuckled. “Personally, it was Manson and Foley chanting all night long that kept me up.”
“Oh yeah. Speaking of which, have you run into Manson yet?” Star asked.
Dash furrowed his brow. “No? Why?”
Star winced. “Maybe avoid her if you can. She threatened to gut me with a spoon when I asked her where she got her coffee from.”
Dash looked out over the other tables set up in the field. Sure enough there was Manson with a steaming mug of coffee, she looked up at him and gave him a glare that made Dash fear for his life. He quickly looked away.
“Noted. Did you guys seen Fenton? He absolutely bodied me as I got off the bus.”
“Oh yeah, was that little girl still with him?” Paulina asked.
“Yeah, he called her Box Lunch. Any idea who she is?”
Kwan nodded and swallowed a spoonful of cereal. “Apparently he babysits for the box and lunch lady ghosts. She's their kid.”
Dash shook his head. “Yeah alright. They can do magic, and he babysits for ghosts. Think there’s anything else Fenton’s been hiding?” The others laughed. It was a very strained and slightly hysterical set of laughs.
“I'm not sure I'm ready for whatever else we might find out today.”
They ate the rest of their breakfasts and chatted for a little longer, before Fenton called everyone together with a whistle.
“Alright everyone! We've fixed the bus and are all set to go! Boxy and Lunch Lady were able to give us directions directly to the Far Frozen, so we'll be heading straight there.
“If you’re still eating, finish up, and everyone back onto the bus. Be quiet in the back though. Mr. Lancer is still sleeping.”
Dash collected the other A-Listers trays and put them away.
They continued to chat as they climbed back on the bus, thanking Lunch Lady as she and Box Lunch handed them all snacks for the road.
Out the bus window he watched Fenton and the others thank the queen, before climbing into the bus with the rest of them.
Technus announced their next stop a little more quietly than usual, so as not to wake up the snoring Mr. Lancer in the back, but still with just as much enthusiasm as always. "Next stop: The Far Frozen!"
The doors of the bus closed and Fenton and his friends waved goodbye to their ghostly friends as the bus jumped into the sky, and then they were off.
It turned out the Far Frozen was still a good distance away, which made sense considering the name. Even with all the flying they had done the day before they would have at least another hour of flying to get there.
Honestly, it wasn’t that bad. Someone broke out an Uno deck, someone else produced a sharpie to draw a mustache on Lancer's Face, and the time flew. It was actually relaxing to have a, sort of, regular drive after everything that had happened the day before.
They had been flying for a good while when a call from the front of the bus got Dash's attention.
“Hey! I can see the Far Frozen from here!” Foley called.
Dash straightened from where he had been slumped in his chair and looked out the front of the bus.
Off in the distance he could see a shining island. Its pure white snow stood out vividly against the background green of the Ghost Zone.
“Land ho!” someone called.
They were almost there! just a few more minutes and they would finally be able to get home.
Something slammed into the side of the bus, and Dash hit his head on the seat in front of him.
~o0o~
Danny was happy. They were almost to the Far Frozen.
Finally he would be able to stop worrying about his classmates and get back home.
He just hoped that nothing was going to go wrong for this final stretch.
Danny being Danny, the moment he thought this was, of course, the moment things went wrong.
An ectoblast hit the side of the bus and his classmates screamed. Danny was thrown into the side of the bus by the force of the impact, but thankfully he landed on his shoulder and not his head.
He glanced at his friends, checking them for injuries instinctively. He had no idea if the rest of his classmates were as lucky, but at the very least his friends were still in fighting shape.
“Technus, what was that?” he called.
Technus's voice was terrified. “It's him.”
Danny didn't have to wonder who he meant long.
“Danny Phantom! Come out and face me!”
Danny knew that voice. It was one of the voices that haunt his nightmares.
Someone had freed Pariah Dark.
Danny looked behind him at his terrified classmates, and then back to his friends. “Well I guess it's time to let the ghost cat out of the bag.”
His friends rolled their eyes at him. “Realy Danny? That wasn't even a good quip!” Sam complained.
Danny snorted. Eh, it was still better than nothing. He grew serious. “I want you three to defend the bus, get it to the Far Frozen while I handle Pariah.”
His friends nodded. “We'll handle it. You go kick some ghost but, Phantom.” Val said, giving him a pat on the shoulder.
He stood up and stepped into the middle of the bus.
He made eye contact with Dash who had fallen into the aisle and grinned. This might not be the best way to reveal his secret, but oh boy was he going to enjoy seeing Dash's reaction.
“I'm going ghost!”
Familiar rings of pure white appeared around his waist. He willed them to split apart with just a thought, and felt the electric chill of his ectoplasm spread out from his core and fill his body. He felt the once terrifying but now familiar feeling of his heartbeat stopping and being replaced by a pulsing power, and his clothes changed from his usual shirt and jeans to his now signature black and white jumpsuit.
He grinned as the light faded and he could see the absolutely gobsmacked faces of his classmates, and the recently woken Mr. Lancer, as they realized that the nerdy Danny Fenton was actually their beloved local hero.
He raised two fingers to his head and saluted them with a smirk. “Surprise! Now if you'll excuse me, I have a former king to put down for a nap.”
He let his hold on his physical form go, and fell through the bottom of the bus.
He flew up above the bus and turned to face Pariah. “Is someone grumpy cause he got woken up from his nap too early?”
Pariah scoffed. “Let us dispense with the pleasantries, Phantom, and get straight to the part where I end your pitiful existence.”
Danny bared his teeth in a grin. “Very well, Pariah, I accept your challenge.”
He flew at the other ghost, firing ectoblasts as he approached.
Pariah blocked them with his mace, and lunged at him in turn. His mace swung straight for Danny's head.
Danny weaved around it, landing a solid hit to Pariah's face.
Unfortunately, this meant he was just a little too close to dodge when Pariah used his free hand to punch him.
Danny was sent flying, and, had he been human, the impact likely would have broken several ribs. But instead he simply willed his flight to straighten out and used the momentum to swing back and attack Pariah even harder.
They traded blows back and forth, Danny switching between his ice, his ectoblasts, and plain old punches.
Pariah managed to land his own share of hits, but it was very clear that this fight was incredibly different from when they had first fought back in Danny's freshman year.
Danny wasn't that same scared kid anymore, and Pariah was now clearly the weaker opponent. He struggled to adapt to Danny's attacks and block his hits.
Danny laughed and grabbed Pariah's weapon, sending a powerful ectoblast into the other ghost’s chest at the same time.
Pariah lost his grip on the mace and went flying backwards.
He roared with rage, his armor now smoking and blasted full of holes from all of Danny's attacks. He charged at Danny, his eye literally burning with rage.
Danny stood his ground as Pariah got closer and closer. Just before he was in range Danny took a deep breath and Wailed. The unearthly force sent Pariah flying away from Danny once again.
Their fight had drifted so far from where it started that they were now fighting above the snow covered dunes of the Far Frozen. The force of Danny's Wail sent Pariah crashing down through the snow, pressing him against the ice below.
The Wailing stopped, and Pariah's own mace pressed against the ghost’s chest, holding the exhausted former king down.
“Yield Pariah! You can't win this fight!” Danny said.
Pariah struggled against the weight of the mace, but was unable to push it off his chest.
“Never! This fight isn't over!”
It sounded weak even to the ghost's own ears, but the voice that answered Pariah wasn't Danny's, though it sounded oh so very close.
“Oh, yes it is.”
Before Danny even had an opportunity to react, an ectoblast hit him from behind, sending him crashing into the snow. He tried to get up, but a foot pressed into his back.
He turned his head to see who was holding him down, and saw that it was exactly who he'd feared he had heard.
Dan stood above Danny, his foot pressed into his back. “Hello Danny, it’s been a long time.”
Dan grinned, and then his fist hit the back of Danny's head.
~o0o~
Val had watched Danny's fight with Pariah grow closer and closer to where they had landed the bus.
She had cheered with the rest of their classmates as Danny once again beat Pariah Dark, but her classmates' cheers cut off into screaming when a second ghost became visible and shot him in the back.
She instinctively summoned her suit, ignoring the gasps of her classmates behind her.
She hopped onto her hover board and was about to speed away and join the fight but Sam grabbed her arm, stopping her.
“Let me go! I need to help him!”
“Wait Val! That's Dan!”
Val felt herself flinch. Danny and the others had told her about what had happened in the erased timeline. It was perhaps the only time she had seen Danny truly scared.
Danny had also asked her for a favor that night, and Val had refused, loudly and angrily. She had stormed out on them and flown as far away as she could.
Danny had found her, and he had asked her again.
He had held out a lead lined box, containing a bullet designed to end even the most powerful of ghosts, a bullet made of ecto-ranium and coated in blood blossom extract.
He had asked her, again, to end him if he ever became the monster that haunted his nightmares more than any other.
She had accepted, and that bullet, despite phasing away with the rest of her suit, had weighed heavily on her ever since.
Sam let go of her arm, seeing that Val understood what she was going to be facing, and what needed to be done. “Yeah, now go!”
Val nodded and summoned her hoverboard, speeding towards where Dan was punching down at an already unconscious Danny.
As she flew she pulled out the bullet, loading it into her gun and taking aim.
Once she was close enough she spun her board and brought herself to a stop. She only had one shot.
She took a slow breath in, held it for a moment, and then released it.
Bang!
She pulled the trigger. The gun fired, and the bullet flew rapidly towards Dan.
But not quite rapidly enough.
Pariah had stumbled to his feet, and Dan grabbed him and shoved the other ghost between himself and the bullet.
The bullet buried itself into Pariah's chest, and he screamed.
Val flinched. Pariah's screams were nothing like his angry rage filled roars. These were the painful desperate sounds of a man dying.
Dan tossed the convulsing body back into the snow. Barely sparing it a glance as it dissolved into a bubbling puddle of ectoplasm.
She wanted to puke at the way he grinned at her.
“Ah, Valerie. It's been a long time. I'm looking forward to seeing you dead at my feet.”
Val had almost no time to react. Dan came at her viciously. She flew and spun and dodged faster than she ever had before in her life.
It wasn't enough.
One of Dan's ectoblasts finally made contact and she was sent flying off her board, spinning down into the snow below.
~o0o~
Danny groaned as he came to. The world around him swam, but something deep in his core was screaming for him to get up.
he forced his way up to his hands and knees. Looking up to see Dan standing over Valerie.
He tried to summon an ectoblast to at least distract him, but it fizzled out in his hands. He was too drained.
He looked around to see if he could see anything at all to help him.
The bubbling pool that was all that remained of Pariah Dark melted through the snow and flowed towards Danny, washing the deadly bullet towards him.
Danny looked at it, and then back at Valerie.
With no other options, he grabbed it.
He screamed, the noise unwillingly torn from his throat. Blackness began to creep in around his vision. He forced it back.
Dan had turned to look at him when he screamed, and Danny lunged, pressing the bullet to the other ghost's throat.
Their shared screams echoed across the snowy plains, but Danny didn't let go. He held the bullet to Dan's skin for as long as he could.
But the darkness was closing in on Danny's vision and his arms were weakening. The bullet slipped from his grasp, and Danny and Dan both slumped into the snow.
There was a flash of light, and through swimming vision he saw Val putting the cap onto her Fenton Thermos. It was the last thing he saw before he closed his eyes and let himself fall into the snow.

Enjoy!
Chapter 4: Magic, Dragons, and Storms? Oh my!
Ao3 | First | Previous | Next
Technus’s voice sounded over the speaker. “Welcome to the Time Lost Lands, students! The home of Queen Dorathea and her subjects.”
“Woah is that a castle?” one of Dash’s classmates asked.
Dash looked out the window and sure enough, there was a massive medieval castle right out the window.
“Is that a dragon!” Dash couldn’t help his yell as he spotted a large winged reptile climbing out from behind the castle.
Manson just grinned at him. “Yep.”
The Dragon jumped from the tower and started flying towards them. Dash made a very manly noise of surprise. Definitely not a terrified squeal. (AN: This is a lie. He actually did a very good impression of a baby otter)
The Dragon was getting closer and closer, and everyone, other than the nerds, was getting progressively more freaked out. Fenton and his friends on the other hand didn’t even flinch as the massive mythical creature landed on top of the bus.
“WHO DARES TRESPASS ON MY... Oh, hello Lady Samantha. How are you this fine morning.” Halfway through its booming yell the dragon transformed into a woman with long blond hair who smiled at Manson.
“Hi Dora!” Manson smiled back. “Our class fell through a natural portal and we’re trying to get home. Think you can point us in the direction of the Far Frozen?”
“Well I can certainly give you directions, but I’m afraid they won’t be much help. The next stop on your journey is Box Ghost and Lunch Lady’s lair, which is currently only accessible through The Storm of Doom.” Dash could hear the capital letters in that name. He looked out into the Ghost Zone where the ghost was pointing and saw a patch of dark clouds. It didn’t look like much, but something about it scared him.
“Oh no, are they alright?” Fenton asked. He and his friends actually looked concerned.
Now Dash would admit that he wasn’t the best at math, but if those four were actually scared of something after how relaxed they had been at everything else in this dimension, then Dash should probably be just as scared. (AN: Dash made an error in his calculations, he should have been far more scared than he was)
“Last I heard from them they were preparing their lair for the storm. So I assume they are doing alright, but we won’t know for sure until the storm passes,” the ghost queen said.
“Speaking of which, that storm is heading this way!” Technus’s voice said over the bus speakers.
The other ghost, Dora, nodded. “Yes, I have been working to prepare the castle and move my citizens inside for the storm. You and yours are welcome to shelter with us Lady Sam.”
Manson and her friends share a look. “The last thing we want is to be stuck in The Storm of Doom.” Valarie said.
Fenton and Foley both nodded. “Yeah, the castle is probably one of the safest places to ride it out. I vote we take Dora up on her offer,” Fenton said.
“Hang on just a minute!” Mr. Lancer interrupted. “Since when were the four of you in charge!”
Foley shrugged. “Hey, Technus!” he said, turning to the front of the bus. “What are the odds on us surviving if we try and fly through The Storm of Doom?”
“My current calculations indicate a 5% chance of immediate death.”
Mr Lancer’s eyes widened. “Well that’s not too bad,” he managed to stammer out, but Technus kept going.
“A 30% chance of your classmates' blood boiling in their veins. A 24% chance of their brains freezing solid. A 4% chance of death by electrocution. A 10% chance of death by poisonous gasses. A 7% chance of spaghettification. A 9% chance of death by eldritch madness, 6% chance of Danny, Valarie, and I being the only survivors, 3% chance of you and Sam also surviving, and a 2% chance of more than half of your classmates surviving. The odds of everyone surviving is less than 0.01% and statistically insignificant, so I rounded it out.” Technus sounded way too cheerful to be discussing their, apparently very probable, deaths.
Mr. Lancer’s face had gotten paler and paler as the ghost spoke. He stumbled into his seat, Foley just smirking at him. “So, do you want to do that? Or do you want to spend the night in a very secure castle and not die a horrible death?”
“Besides,” Fenton held up a glowing green post-it note that he had gotten from... Dash had no idea where he had gotten it from, “time is apparently moving at a two to one ratio to earth right now, so every two hours we spend here only one is passing on earth. So we have plenty of time.” No one bothered to ask him how he knew that.
Mr Lancer just nodded and slumped farther into the bus seat.
Manson turned back to the ghost dragon lady floating outside the bus and smiled at her, bowing at the waist. “We humbly accept your offer of shelter, Queen Dorathea of the Time Lost Lands.”
The Ghost, Queen Dorathea, nodded back at Manson. “The Time Lost Lands do not forget those who helped us find our path to the future, you and yours will always be able to find shelter in our walls, Lady Samantha.”
The solemness that had fallen over the group hung for a moment, before Manson straightened and smiled at the ghost. “Thanks Dora, I really appreciate it!”
“Of course Sam! I’m always glad to have you stop by! Have your vehicle land in the field by the stables. It should be safe from the storm there.”
They did as ordered, and the bus came to a stop next to a stable with, were those unicorns? (Star would later inform him that they were actually alicorns.)
They all hopped out of the bus and looked around at the castle. It was even more impressive up close. The walls absolutely towered over them, and they made Dash feel very small.
Off to the side he could see Fenton and his friends talking to Mr. Lancer, but they were too quiet for him to hear what they were saying. He wasn’t gonna have to wait long to find out what they were talking about though, since Mr. Lancer called them all to gather around.
“Alright class. Miss Manson and Mr. Foley are going to go find out how long we will have to wait out the storm. In the meantime, I encourage you all to eat your lunches. If you were planning to buy lunch at the planetarium please raise your hand, Mr. Fenton has offered to hand out Fenton Sustenance Crackers™ to anyone without a pre-packed lunch.”
Dash felt his lunch money in his pocket and winced, he didn’t exactly want to take Fenton’s charity, but he had worked up quite the appetite since they had fallen into the Ghost Zone, so he raised his hand. Next to him, Kwan raised his hand too.
Fenton slowly made his way around the group and passed the crackers out. When he approached the two jocks Dash was surprised to see that they were literal crackers, like a saltine. For some reason he had been expecting more. Fenton smirked at him and split the cracker in half, handing one half to each of them. Dash stared at it.
“Is this really it?” he asked.
Fenton just smiled. “Yep, trust me, that’s all you’re gonna need.”
Dash shared a look with Kwan as Fenton continued onto the rest of the group. Kwan just shrugged at him and the two inspected the crackers they had been handed. It looked like a normal cracker, for the most part. Dash was pretty sure the slightly green hue was just the lighting, but he still hesitated.
Dash’s stomach rumbled and he shrugged. It was better than nothing. He tossed the cracker into his mouth.
It tasted strange, both citrusy and bland, while also tasting like absolutely nothing. The taste was nothing compared to what happened when he swallowed though. He could feel the cracker slide down his throat and into his stomach, and then expand.
“Oh that’s really weird,” Kwan said with a shudder.
“You get used to it!” Fenton yelled from across the field.
Dash shuddered, he really, really hoped he never did. He would give Fenton one thing though, the crackers certainly worked. His stomach felt like he had just eaten an entire 16” pizza by himself.
He joined the other students as they sat in the grass eating and talking. For a moment he forgot that they weren’t just hanging out on the football field back at Casper High. Manson and Foley returning with the green skinned ghost queen broke the illusion though.
The group hurried over to Fenton, and Valarie. Dash didn’t recognize what Valarie and Danny did, that the group were only avoiding breaking into a sprint to not cause a panic.
Dash was just close enough to over hear their whispered conversation.
“Danny we have bad news,” Manson said.
“Really bad news. The storm’s drifted further than expected. The Core is heading straight for us,” Foley sounded scared, and that scared Dash. The look on Fenton’s face pushed him from scared to terrified.
Fenton stood up from where he had been leaning against the bus, straightening and turning to the ghostly queen who had offered them shelter. “Queen Dorathea, how may I be of service to you and your people.”
The Queen bowed her head to Fenton. “Your friends have agreed to assist the royal mage in raising a shield around the castle. But I fear that without your power they will be unable to outlast the storm.” The queen made eye contact with Fenton “I ask for your aid in this, K-”
Fenton interrupted the queen. “Just Danny right now, Dora.” Fenton looked over at the rest of the class, who were obviously trying to listen in to their conversation. He made brief eye contact with Dash before turning back to Queen Dorathea. “But you will have my assistance in any way you require it.”
Fenton turned to Valerie. “Come on, let’s go let Lancer know what’s going on.” He turned back to the Ghost and bowed. “We'll be back soon.”
They hurried over to Mr. Lancer. Dash wasn’t close enough to hear what was said, but he could see the way Lancer tried to argue with Fenton only for him to stand firm. Eventually Lancer slumped and seemed to give permission.
Fenton grabbed his bag and made his way back to his friends and the queen. “Alright, let’s go. Val, you got things covered here?”
She nodded, before pulling Fenton and the others into a quick hug. Then they walked away, leaving the class whispering behind them.
There was no sun in the ghost zone but it certainly felt like it was setting as the green sky grew darker and the howling noise of the storm began to grow louder and louder.
Dash and the other A-Listers watched as the storm rolled over them, the clouds covering the sky completely. The clouds seemed to whisper to him and Dash couldn’t help but be drawn to them. He felt himself stand up and, not hearing his friends call his name, started walking away.
Val smacked him over the back of the head. Hard.
Dash felt dazed and confused. When had he stood up? Where had he been walking to?
“Yeah, don’t look at the storm. It’s not the weather you really have to be worried about.”
Instinctively Dash looked back up at the storm. Val smacked him again.
“Don’t look at it idiot. Got it?” Dash nodded rapidly. “Good. Now get back to your friends. You scared them.”
Dash looked back over his shoulder. They really did look terrified.
He quickly walks back to them. “Sorry guys, I don't know what happened.”
Paulina’s voice shook. “Don’t do that again.”
“You scared us man,” Kwan said. "It was like you couldn’t hear us.”
Dash almost looked back up at the whispering clouds again. But he caught himself, and looked down at the ground instead. “I don’t think I could.” He whispered.
They sat in silence, intentionally not looking at the storm.
There was a deep ring that echoed through the castle, and voices raised in a haunting chant. All around them a glowing green dome raised to block out the storm, the whispers in the storm becoming muffled and drowned out by the chanting.
“Look! up there!” Star said, pointing up to the castle walls. Dash followed her finger to where four figures were standing silhouetted against the bright green of the shield.
Three of the figures were holding their arms up to the sky, green wisps of magic trailing out from their hands and stretching out to the dome above them, pulsing in time with the chanting. The fourth figure had his hands on the shoulders of two of the others, their hair seeming to glow with the lighting.
“Is that Fenton and the others?” Star asked.
“Yep,” Valarie said. Dash jumped. He hadn't seen her walk up behind them. “Them and the royal mage.”
“Since when could they do magic?” Paulina asked.
“Sam and Tucker have been studying for a while. Danny too, but he doesn't have as much talent in it. He’s so powerful though that it doesn't matter much in the long run. He can just brute force a lot of things.”
She turned to look at them, making eye contact with Dash in particular. “You should all be grateful you haven't bothered them since freshman year. Sam could turn you into a frog and Danny could separate your soul from your body with just a word. As for Tucker… let’s just say that we’re all glad he stays focused on technomancy.”
Dash felt queasy. "Did you ever learn anything?” He asked, morbidly curious.
Valarie just shrugged. “It's not my specialty. I know some of the theory, but not much more than that.” She grinned and pulled a very big ray gun out of her purse. “Besides, I'm more of a gun gal anyway.”
Kwan squeaked and Dash barely kept himself from doing the same.
“How’d you get that to fit in your purse like that?” Star asked.
“There are some benefits to having magic friends.” Val grinned at them again, before sobering slightly and gesturing back towards the bus. “Now come on, we fixed up the bus so that people can sleep in it.”
Dash and the others followed her to the bus. The backs of the bench seats had been laid down flat and someone had found blankets and pillows from somewhere, turning the seats into makeshift cots.
“Claim a bed and get some sleep if you can. It's gonna be a long night.”
Dash had a hard time sleeping on the makeshift cot. Not necessarily because it was uncomfortable, but more because his mind was too full. The green glow and unending haunting chanting wasn’t helping either. Though it was definitely preferable to the alternative. The way he had almost walked off into the storm terrified him.
He got up from the bed and quietly made his way out of the bus.
Val was sitting outside on a wooden stool that had been pulled from somewhere. She had her gun balanced on her knees. and was staring up at where her friends were still chanting on the castle wall.
“How are you so calm?" he asked. “All of this is absolutely crazy, and yet you're so calm. How?”
Valarie just sat there for a long moment. “There's not much I can say other than 'you get used to it,'” she finally said. “Danny Sam and Tucker, they've been there since the very beginning, since the portal opened in his parents lab.” She glanced at him. “It's hard to keep up with the rest of them sometimes. They're all so in sync and I joined them so much later, but I'm nothing if not stubborn, so I keep up with them anyway.”
“So this whole time Fenton and the others have been befriending the ghosts and learning magic and and... I don't even know what else.”
Valerie's laugh was humorless. “Yeah you really don't know what else Dash. And I'm not going to tell you.”
“Why not!”
“Why would I Dash? Why would I tell you a secret that isn't even mine when you bullied Danny and ostracized me back in freshman year. Why do you think Dash?” Val shook her head. “It's not my place to tell people, and even if it was, you'd never be someone I'd tell anyway.”
Dash had nothing he could say in response.
Valerie turned back to watch the castle walls. “Go back to bed Dash.”
He did as told, but he didn't get much sleep that night.

Enjoy!
Chapter 3: The Field Trip
Ao3 | First | Previous | Next
Dash Baxter hadn’t expected that his class field trip would end up like this. He had been expecting a boring day at the planetarium, but instead they had found themselves in the Ghost Zone!
A lot of things had happened all at once. First they had fallen through a portal and landed in the Ghost Zone. Then their bus driver had abandoned them to dive through the portal as it closed, trapping them all behind him. And then, while the rest of the group was grappling with the fact that they had somehow ended up in another dimension, Fenton and his friends had gone and recruited a ghost to fly them home, somehow!
Honestly, Dash could deal with all of that. It was a lot, but he was an Amity Parker, born and raised! What was weirding him out was how relaxed the nerds were about all of this!
Dash wanted it on the record that he wasn’t scared (definitely not). He was just a little nervous, okay? Don’t judge him! They were in the Ghost Zone! How could he not be at least a little nervous? This is where the ghosts lived! Everyone should be nervous!
Not the nerds though. They only seemed to be mildly annoyed by the fact they were stuck in the afterlife another dimension. He could understand Manson and Valerie, they were both pretty scary themselves. He could even sort of understand Foley, but Fenton was infamous for hiding from even the most tame ghosts, disappearing to some hidey-hole until Phantom took care of them. Heck, he even abandoned his friends a lot of the time, leaving them to be saved by Phantom. So why the heck was Fenton so chill now that they were literally flying through the Ghost Zone?
Dash wasn’t gonna be stuck wondering for long, Mr. Lancer had the same question. “Mr. Fenton, How are you so calm!”
Danny stared at him. “Mr. Lancer, the portal to the Zone is in my parents lab. Did you really think that me and my friends wouldn’t have tried going through?”
Mr. Lancer spluttered at Fenton’s dry response. “I had assumed that your parents at least had enough lab safety in place that you wouldn’t have succeeded!”
Dash may have been a jock, but he wasn’t stupid okay. He had seen enough movies to tell the difference between a laugh and a cackle, and the way that Fenton’s laughter threw his head back and shook his whole body was absolutely a mad scientist’s cackle. The sound almost scared him more than the fact they were stuck in the Ghost Zone.
“Mr. Lancer, we’re Fentons. If my parents go too long without blowing something up, me and Jazz will do something ourselves just to make sure it’s not too quiet.”
Fenton’s friends were nodding along. “Yeah, the first time Danny slept over at my house it was too quiet for him to fall asleep. So he went down to the kitchen, modified the toaster oven to reach 3000°, and poured molten salt into the bathtub. Gave my parent’s a heart attack.”
Lancer’s eye twitched. “How old were you when you did this?”
Fenton shrugged. “Like six I think? I’m not sure. I did learn to get permission first after that though.”
Dash and Paulina shared a look. Holy shit, Fenton was a mad scientist. Like, it was common knowledge that the Fenton parents were, but apparently they had all missed the fact that Danny Fenton was just as crazy as them.
They both jumped when a mechanical hand popped out from a panel in the ceiling and the voice of their ghostly driver echoed through the speakers. “That's science, baby!”
Fenton gave the mechanical hand a high five and chuckled. “Well I didn’t write it down, but I did learn something, so it probably still counts.”
Manson laughed. “Hypothesis, everyone likes explosions before bed. Conclusion, hypothesis incorrect.”
The nerds (and Technus) laughed while the rest of the bus stared at them. Dash didn’t know whether to be terrified of them or just glad that they were still nerds. Then Fenton made eye contact with him and grinned. Definitely terrified of them.
“Well, in the meantime, we have reached our first stop!” Technus said, as the bus made a bumpy landing.
Fenton frowned. “Wait what? Why are we stopping? I thought we were headed to the Far Frozen?”
“That’s the destination, but, since your parent’s shut down the portal, things in the Zone have been shifting around even more than they usually do. So we will have to go from stop to stop and get directions as we travel,” the ghost replied.
“So where have we stopped now?” Valerie asked.
“Jonny and Kitty’s place!”
Fenton looked out the window. “Oh yeah I recognize it! There’s their track.”
“Go see if they know where Dora’s castle is right now. That should be in the right direction.”
“Yeah alright, I’ll go ask,” Fenton said.
The rest of the class pressed their faces to the windows and watched as he walked out of the bus and over to the dirt track. He held his hands to his mouth and yelled.
“Kitty! Johnny! You here?”
There was a moment of silence, and it seemed like there wasn’t gonna be a reply. Then there was the sound of a revving motorcycle. It appeared from behind one of the embankments, with two people riding it. They rode towards Fenton, not slowing down as they got closer and closer.
Fenton just stood there, not even moving as they barreled straight towards him. Dash glanced over at the nerds to see their reaction, only to see them all looking entirely uninterested. Foley wasn’t even watching, messing with his PDA instead. Dash looked back out the window as his other classmates gasped. Just as they thought that Fenton was gonna get turned into a pavement smear the bikers slid into a skid, kcking up enough dust to temporarily block Fenton and the bike from view.
Dash and his classmates watched as the dust cleared, wondering if Fenton had just gotten run over, but when the dust cleared Fenton hadn’t moved an inch. The bike on the other hand, had stopped barely an inch in front of him.
The couple on the bike and Fenton stared each other down.
“Boo! 3/10 try harder next time.”
Dash flinched at the loud voice next to him. He turned to see Manson giving a thumbs down and heckling the ghosts outside. The guy rolled his eyes and the girl in the red jacket blew a sarcastic kiss towards her. Manson laughed and her friends rolled their eyes. The rest of the class was just staring at her, baffled.
With Manson seeming to have broken the staring contest, Fenton and the two ghosts relaxed and started talking, but whatever they were saying was too quiet for Dash to hear. They seemed to argue for a bit, before Fenton shrugged and randomly tackled the guy off his motorcycle.
The class watched in shock as they tussled in the dirt. The other ghost hopped off the motorcycle and went to join them, but Valerie cackled and jumped out the window of the bus. Lancer tried to reach out and grab her but Manson and Tucker blocked him. Not that it mattered, she was already out the window by the time he’d moved.
“Not on my watch Kitty!” Valerie yelled as she tackled the second ghost from behind.
Manson and Foley cheered as the four wrestled in the dirt.
Fenton managed to pin the ghost he was fighting quickly and he tapped out. The two then sat and watched as the others wrestled. It wasn’t long before Valerie also managed a pin, and they all helped each other up. They brushed their clothes off and shook hands, speaking for a moment more before Valerie and Fenton walked back to the bus.
“Okay, Johnny said that Dora’s is about 10° up with a 30° azimuth.” Danny said as he and Valerie climbed back into the bus.
“Alright!” Technus yelled. “Next stop, Dora's Castle!”
Dash fell back into his seat as the bus jumped and they were once again flying through the ghost zone.
For a long moment all the students just sat there, but eventually Paulina broke the silence with the question everyone was wondering. “What was that?” she screeched.
Fenton just looked at her in confusion. “What was what?”
“What do you mean ‘what was what?’ The fighting and stuff! You went from a perfectly civil conversation to fighting in the dirt! Valerie jumped out the window!”
“Oh that! Well Johnny said he wouldn’t tell me unless I fought him. So I did.”
Paulina spluttered at his relaxed statement before turning to their other classmate.
Their classmate who had literally jumped out a window less than ten seconds ago just shrugged. “I wasn’t about to turn down a fight.” Valerie said.
“Why?” Paulina cried.
Valerie just shrugged again. “It’s fun.”
Dash... had no idea how to respond to that. Apparently, neither did Paulina, because she just slumped into her chair.
Dash had no idea how to react to everything he was learning about Fenton and his friends today.

Chapter 2: All Aboard!
Ao3 | First | Previous | Next
Danny's bus careened wildly towards the portal. The bus driver tried to slam on the brakes, but the bus had too much momentum and the next thing Danny knew they were falling.
There was a brief moment of weightlessness as the bus fell, and everyone screamed as they held on for dear life.
Before Danny could do anything, the sky outside the windows went green and they hit the ground, the bus coming to a very abrupt stop.
The students' screams peter out into soft crying and whispering as everyone checks themselves over to make sure they are alright. Except for Mr. Lancer, he was still screaming.
The bus driver unbuckles himself and runs towards the back of the bus. "Out of my way! I ain't staying here!"
Danny watches, baffled, as the driver throws open the emergency exit in the back of the bus and executes a perfect swan dive into the rapidly shrinking portal. It closes behind him, and Danny is left staring out at the Ghost Zone.
Next to him, Sam was spluttering with rage. "That coward! When we get back I'm gonna strangle him!"
Danny sighs. "Sam, what did we say about threatening bodily harm to humans?"
"Oh come on Danny, that guy just abandoned a bunch of kids-"
"And Mr. Lancer!" Tucker interjects.
Sam rolls her eyes. "A bunch of kids, and Mr. Lancer, in another dimension. He'd deserve it!"
"Personally, I'm gonna get him fired. I doubt that our parents would be happy to hear about this." Valerie says.
Sam thinks about it for a moment before grinning at the other girl. "I can live with that."
They shake on it, and Danny decides he’s just gonna ignore that. Whatever those two have planned could be a problem for future Danny. He almost felt sorry for the bus driver. Then again, the guy did abandon them in the ghost zone, so maybe not.
"Come on guys, let's see if we can figure out where we are."
The four of them hop out of the back of the bus, and Danny looks around to see if he recognizes anything. If he was lucky, someone he knew would be nearby to help him get his class back to Amity Park.
Danny looks up at the green sky and the floating doors. He had been to the ghost zone several times over the last few years, but he didn't recognize wherever it was they had landed. Behind him and his friends, the rest of their classmates were climbing out of the bus too. All of them enthralled by the toxic green sky that was dotted with constellations of floating islands and purple doors.
"So Danny, what's the plan?" Sam asks him.
He turns and looks at her. "What? Why do I have to come up with the plan?"
Sam just raises an eyebrow and points back at Mr. Lancer, who had finally stumbled out of the bus and was staring up at the green sky in absolute bafflement.
Danny sighs. "Point taken."
Seeing a nearby hill, Danny figures that a higher vantage point couldn’t hurt, so he and the others start walking towards it.
He was surprised when he saw a building on the other side of the hill. Most islands in the zone were entirely empty, what were the odds that they had actually managed to land on one that was inhabited?
The door to the building opens and Danny sighs when he sees a familiar ghost walk out. Good old Fenton luck. He winces as the ghost notices them and yells to them.
“Hello children! It is I, Technus! Master of all things electric and technological! What brings you to my humble abode? We are far from your usual haunts.”
“Hi Technus. Sorry for stopping by unannounced. We were on a field trip and our bus fell through a natural portal. Do you think you can help us get to the Far Frozen? My parents closed our portal, and Frostbite is our best bet to get home.”
Honestly, Danny was actually pretty happy to see Technus. Sure the ghost was loud, but as long as he wasn’t in the middle of a plot he tended to be a pretty helpful guy.
Case in point, Technus immediately perking up when asked to help. “Fell through a portal you say? Well, I Technus, master of all things technological and electronic, will assist you in getting your bus back home!”
See very helpful!
“Thanks Technus. I really appreciate it!” Danny says, smiling at the other ghost.
“For a price!”
Wait what?
“I Technus, will help you get home, for the low low price of 500 Doomed coins!”
He hears a snort from behind him and turns to look at his friends. Sam and Tucker were badly hiding smiles and Val actually laughed at him when Danny looked at her.
“Come on Danny, it’s not like that’s actually a bad deal,” Tucker says.
“It’s about the principle!” Danny whisper yells back.
“Since when did you get those?” Val asks with a raised eyebrow.
Danny huffs. “Alright, fine.” He turns back to Technus. “Since my friends think that that’s a great deal they will be more than happy to pay you once we get back.” He ignores both Tucker and Val’s angry yells, and Sam’s ‘I have so many Doomed coins I don’t even care’ laugh.
“You have a deal, ghost child!” Technus holds his hand out for Danny to shake, but Technus had just reminded him of a very important detail.
“One more thing, my classmates don’t know I’m a ghost.” Technus looks over Danny’s shoulder at his friends, confused. “No, not them! They obviously know. I meant my other classmates. They don’t know I’m Phantom, and they would absolutely freak out if they found out! So you can’t call me ghost kid or Phantom or anything else alright?”
Technus’s confusion clears and he nods happily. “Do not fear! I, Technus, will make sure to only refer to you as Danny Fenton! Normal human child who is completely human and definitely not a ghost.”
Danny winces. “Maybe just stick with just Fenton, yeah?”
They shook on it and made their way towards the crash site, where Mr. Lancer had only just discovered their little disappearance.
“Over here Mr. Lancer!” Danny calls, getting their teacher’s attention.
“Mr. Fenton! Where the Oliver Twist were you?” Mr. Lancer asks.
“We were trying to figure out where we were, Mr. Lancer, and we found some help!”
Danny gestures to Technus. Who waves enthusiastically. “Yes! I am Technus, master of all things science and technology! I will help you get home at the request of Danny Fenton!”
Lancer stared at them. Danny swore he could almost see his teacher blue screen, which was fitting, considering who they were working with, but after his teacher rebooted the man just looked tired. “Yeah sure that works. It’s not like I have any better ideas.
Given the way Mr. Lancer’s eye twitched when Technus responded with a gleeful cackle, he really wished he did.
Technus flies up and phases into the bus, the bus turning Technus’s signature green and black and a screen with Technus’s face popping out from... somewhere? The bus definitely hadn’t had that before, but Danny wasn’t gonna waste the mental energy to figure out where it came from.
“All aboard children! Your bus is ready to depart!” the Technus on the screen said.
The other students looked apprehensively between the bus and Mr. Lancer. The man sighed and gestured for them to board, but no one did.
Danny huffs and he and his friends hop onto the bus. They took the front seats since the A-Listers didn’t, and Danny felt more than a little petty joy when Dash got on and had to walk past them to the middle seats.
Mr. Lancer climbs into the bus and Technus closes the door behind him.
“Off we go!” Technus yells, and they rise off the ground and sped away from the island. Danny’s classmates, and of course Mr. Lancer, shrieking in surprise.
~o0o~
Dan Phantom had been stuck inside the Fenton Thermos for almost a year, and now that he had finally broken free he had only one goal: End Danny Phantom.
His uppity do-gooder alternate self had managed to ruin his already bad afterlife, and Dan was going to make sure that he ruined his.
Unfortunately, his past self was both resourceful and powerful. Fortunately however, Dan wasn’t a do-gooding hero like his alternate self. He was the villain in this story. He didn’t have to play fair. Which is what had brought him to the castle floating in front of him.
He made his way past the unmoving skeleton guards to the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep. He floated in front of it for a moment, trying to decide how to open it. In the end he shrugged and simply smashed it open with his fist.
Pariah Dark emerged with a roar, and Dan dodged his wildly swinging fists, before pinning the former king of ghosts to the ground.
“Hello there Pariah Dark. I have a proposition for you.”

Chapter 1: Trapped in the Zone!
Ao3 | First | Next
Danny woke up excited for his field trip. He had been to the planetarium a bunch as a kid, but that didn't mean that he wasn't happy to go again on a field trip.
He hurriedly packed his school bag and ran through his door. He didn't even bother to open it, just used his ghost powers to phase right through it. He also used his ghost powers to jump over the railing and into the living room, doing a little flip as he fell just because he could.
He laughed at Jazz's scandalized yell as he landed. He ran past her into the kitchen and grabbed some yogurt and a banana for his breakfast before turning back to run out the door.
"Bye Jazz! Don't want to be late!" He heard her sigh from behind him but that didn't stop him from running out the door.
He checked to see if anyone was watching before yelling his catch phrase. "I'm going ghost!"
White rings split from his waist and transformed him from Danny Fenton to Danny Phantom! Ghost hero extraordinaire! He turned himself invisible, and flew to school.
It was, as he liked to point out to Jazz, a much better way to get to school than taking the bus.
When he reached the school he invisibly searched for his friends. Spotting them, he flew down into a nearby bush and transformed himself back. Climbing out of the bush he walked up behind them.
"Hey guys!" he said cheerfully, startling both his friends. They spun around to face him, and he laughed at their surprised expressions. "You miss me?"
"Danny!" His friends came over and hugged him.
"Dude! I was starting to wonder if you were gonna make it in time!"
"And miss our field trip? Of course not!"
Sam laughed. "Yeah Tucker, did you really think that Space Case Danny would ever miss out on a trip to the planetarium?"
"Hey!" Danny pouts at her, but she just raises an eyebrow at him.
"Am I wrong?" she asks.
Danny holds the pout for a moment longer, before shrugging. "Yeah no you're right."
The three laugh together, before their teacher, Mr. Lancer, calls all the students to him.
They made their way over to where he was standing next to a school bus.
"Alright students, as you all know, we are going on a field trip to the Lutz Planetarium. I want you all to be on your best behavior! If any of you cause problems on this trip then by The Count Of Monte Cristo I will see you in detention for the rest of your life! Now, everyone on the bus!"
The A-Listers shove their way to the front of the line, claiming the front of the bus for the popular kids. Danny and his friends ended up in the back of the bus with Valerie.
Things had been a little touch and go between them when she had first figured out his identity after the Vlad thing. Once she’d found out that Vlad and Dani were halfa's, it hadn’t been hard for her to figure him out too. The fact that he had taken Dani to the Nasty Burger while Valerie was working there had nothing to do with her figuring it out (AN: This is a lie). Since then things between them have improved a lot though. Now Valerie had become a regular part of their little group, and Red Huntress had become a full time member of Team Phantom.
"Hey Valerie! You excited about the field trip?" Danny asked.
"Hi Danny. Yeah it should be fun. Any reason to get out of class right?" she joked. They all chuckled and made their way to their seats.
The four of them chatted while the other students climbed into the bus. It didn’t take long before Mr. Lancer called for a head count and the driver closed the doors of the bus.
They pulled out of the school parking lot and made their way towards the planetarium. Danny tunes out as Mr. Lancer calls attendance and relaxes into his seat. He was looking forward to a whole day of no ghost business to worry about and getting to hang out with his friends.
Suddenly the driver slammed on the brakes, throwing everyone forward in their seats as the bus started to rapidly decelerate, but when Danny looked up to see what was going on, he could tell that it would be too little too late.
The natural portals that had started to show up since the Fentons closed the one in their lab had grown bigger and bigger, until there was one large enough to swallow Danny, his classmates, and their entire bus whole, and he and his class were heading straight for it.
Danny joined his classmates as they fell, screaming, through the portal and into the ghost zone.
~o0o~
Across the ghost zone Clockwork looked over his ruined lair. It had been destroyed almost entirely. Mirrors were smashed, metal cogs and gears snapped or bent. His home had been destroyed.
He floated a little further into the room. Leaning down, he picked up a certain silver and green thermos out from the rest of the scattered debris. He turned it around in his hands, examining the large gash in the side where something, or someone, had exploded out of it.
He waved his staff and the room put itself back together. Bricks flew up from the floor and put themselves back into the walls they had fallen from, gears and cogs screwed themselves back together and slotted back into place, and glass shards flew up and reformed into mirrors and clock faces.
One of the mirrors rippled as it reformed. Where one would normally expect to see their reflection, there was instead an image of a ghost of an alternate timeline, flying quickly through the zone.
Clockwork smiled and waved his staff over the mirror. The image rippled again and changed to show Danny and his friends climbing out of the crashed bus and staring up at the green sky of the Ghost Zone.
“All is as it should be.”

Prologue
Ao3 | Next
Danny Fenton had died in his parent's basement, and the city of Amity Park hadn't been the same since.
Neither, for that matter, had Danny. The portal had changed him from a normal human to someone different. Something different.
He wasn't just Danny Fenton anymore, but Danny Phantom! The ghostly hero of Amity Park! Yeah, there was a whole thing with his parents trying to hunt him down and stuff, but they were all good now! He had told them about being a halfa and everything and all that happened was his dad hugging him so tight he'd had to use his intangibility to get out before his ribs broke.
His parents had since dedicated themselves to completely redoing their research from the ground up. Then even turned off the portal! They said that until they had a better understanding of ghost culture it was irresponsible of them to be opening a door into their home.
Danny didn't think he had ever been more relaxed in his life. His parents knew his secret and were totally okay with it. With the portal closed he didn't have to worry about any of his rouges popping by for a fight (they were friends now, but they sometimes had a hard time remembering that Danny still had things like homework, and sleep). And to top it all off he and his class had a field trip to the planetarium! Sure Danny went there all the time, but that doesn't mean he isn't happy to get to go again.
Yeah, Danny Fenton was feeling great, for the first time ever his life was going perfect.
~o0o~
At age 14, Danny Fenton died in his parent's lab. His death tore a hole through the fabric of reality, and allowed all manner of beings to cross from their side of the veil to this one.
Danny died, but he was also, excruciatingly, forced to live. The energy of the veil simultaneously tore him apart and forced him back together, turning him into a halfa, one of the first in centuries.
Despite being children who had experienced an incredibly traumatizing event, when the visitors from the other side of the portal began to cause chaos in Amity Park, Danny and his friends worked together to stop them.
They grew into themselves, and Danny learned how to use his powers better and eventually got to the point where he didn't always need them. He learned to use diplomacy with his rogues, their fights becoming something they did to socialize and entertain themselves rather than the desperate battles they had once been.
It took a few years, but he eventually revealed his identity to his parents as well. And just as he had always hoped, but not always believed, they had accepted him. They renounced their previous beliefs to accept their son in his entirety. They’d even shut down their life's work for him.
Unfortunately, actions with good motives can still have unintended consequences, and a door opened as violently as the portal was is not easily closed.
Across town from where Danny was lying in bed, his mind filled with pleasant dreams of his upcoming field trip, the fabric between this reality and the next rippled, and the local park suddenly became lit by an unearthly green glow.
A natural portal. This one was small, but wasn't the first one that had appeared since the Fentons had deactivated the portal mounted into the wall of their basement lab, and, unfortunately for Danny Fenton and his field trip, it would also not be the last.

DpxDC soulmate swap
I keep seeing these soulmate AUs that when the younger one is a certain age the soulmates swap bodies.
Now, what about the vivisection/ bad reveal Danny, who is legally being experimented on by the GIW (NOT Ghost King AU), who wakes up during a family dinner, not realising he's awake at first, only for the family to tell him "Yes, this is a soulmate swap, and yes we ARE your soulmates family." He immediately goes to leave and says he will rescue himself- Que panicked family says that they'll get the heroes, only for Danny to laugh in their faces and go, "What are they going to do? Everything that's happening to me is completely legal. Me murdering my way to my body is not. Anyway, hopefully, my soulmate is screaming and thrashing around enough that they sedate them; I've grown numb to the pain, so they don't usually bother anymore". Danny just casually stealing a car/motorbike and driving away
I can't think of who would be the soulmate. Honestly, all of the cross-ship pairings could work.

Phineas and Ferb SHIELD AU Masterpost
The Whole Tag
I have a Phineas and Ferb SHIELD AU.
It involves Vanessa and Stacy being badass secret agents, Candace being an incredibly overqualified civilian contractor (who isn’t fazed by anything), Ferb managing an international network of super spies, and Ferb/Vanessa fake dating where Vanessa picks Ferb up for important missions
How Candace got involved
Family dinners
That time Phineas got kidnapped
Doof, Perry and more
Buford and Baljeet
Send an ask to get me to talk more about this AU!

Surviving Jurassic World! A Brooklynn Exclusive! Interlude 2: Q&A
October 20th, YouTube video posted to BrooklynnUnboxesTheWorld:
The video starts showing the campers sitting on the couch. They wave before Brooklynn starts talking.
ALL: Hey!
BROOKLYNN: Hey guys! Welcome to our Q&A! We’ll have a regular episode next week but we wanted to take this opportunity to answer any questions you guys have about the series or about Isla Nublar.
KENJI: So we had you guys send in some questions and we have the top ones here in this hat.
He holds up a Jurassic World baseball cap and shakes it, the folded papers inside rattling around.
BROOKLYNN: I’ll start us off first.
She reaches into the hat and pulls out a piece of paper.
BROOKLYNN: Okay, first question. “How are you guys still alive?”
YAZ: Dumb luck.
The other campers laugh at Yaz’s deadpan reply before Brooklynn continues.
BROOKLYNN: You’ll just have to watch and see.
Ben reaches into the hat and pulls out another question.
BEN: “Does Darius still like dinosaurs?”
He looks up and raises an eyebrow at Darius, who grins.
DARIUS: Absolutely! I mean, I don’t want to go back to Isla Nublar anytime soon, but I still love dinosaurs!
Ben passes the hat to Darius and he pulls another question out.
DARIUS: “How did you get the security camera footage?”
He puts the paper down and looks at Brooklynn.
DARIUS: Want to take this one Brook?
BROOKLYNN: Yeah. Turns out that Jurassic World’s security system was set up to store security footage so that it could be reviewed. As for how we got that footage, you’ll just have to wait and see.
Darius passes the hat to Kenji who reads the next question.
KENJI: “What are your opinions on dinosaurs? Should they be exterminated?”
BEN & SAMMY (together): No!
SAMMY: Most dinos are wonderful critters. Even the carnivores are just living their lives.
DARIUS: Yeah! The dinosaurs are living creatures and deserve the same chance to live as any other animal.
The other campers nodded in agreement and Kenji passed the hat to Yaz.
YAZ: “Why didn’t you make it to the ferries?”
Kenji laughs.
KENJI: You’ll just have to wait until next week’s episode.
Sammy laughed and grabbed the hat from Yaz.
SAMMY: Ooh, let’s see here. “Were you the only survivors who didn’t make it off the island?”
DARIUS: As far as we know yeah. We searched the island pretty thoroughly while we were trying to find ways off the island, and we didn’t see any signs of other living survivors.
BROOKLYNN: “Next question. Were there any adults with you? What happened to Roxie and Dave?”
DARIUS: Like the last question we were the only survivors on the island. Dave and Roxie chased us all across the island when the Indominus escaped, but we didn’t make it to the ferry with them.
BEN: They actually tried to stay and look for us, but they got shoved on a boat and were forced to leave with everyone else.
Ben pulls a question out of the hat as he talks.
KENJI: “Why did Sammy steal Brooklynn’s phone?”
BROOKLYNN: This one is actually kinda important.
YAZ: Turns out that Sammy here was actually a spy. It’s also why she was taking DNA samples from the sinoceratops.
SAMMY: Yeah, I saw that Brooklynn had a video of me taking those samples and freaked out. I stole the phone try‘n get rid of the evidence.
She tucked her hair behind her ear a little awkwardly.
SAMMY: It didn’t go so well.
Yaz lightly punches Sammy’s shoulder with a small smile.
YAZ: Yeah well, it turned out okay eventually.
Darius pulls another question out of the hat.
DARIUS: “What was your least favorite dinosaur?”
The campers grimace and look at Sammy, whose voice is slightly grim and has pressed her hand to her side.
SAMMY: The Scorpios.
Yaz reaches over and squeezes her hand, making Sammy look at her and smile slightly.
DARIUS: Yeah, I think we can all agree there.
He glances at Ben.
DARIUS: Pteranodon was a close second though.
After a moment Yaz lets go of Sammy’s hand and pulls a question out of the hat, laughing suddenly.
YAZ: I like this one. “How the heck are you guys still alive? You’re absolute idiots! You managed to almost die multiple times before the park fell, how on earth did you manage to survive when they were running free?”
The other campers start laughing too before Yaz answers the question.
YAZ: Like I said before it was a lot of luck at first, but we did end up working really well together as a team.
DARIUS: We also stopped treating the dinos like they were safe. Almost get eaten enough times and you’ll develop a healthy sense of fear real quick. Unless you’re Ben, in which case you develop a lack of fear and a disturbing love of explosions.
Yaz laughs again and passes the hat to Sammy, who pulls out another question.
SAMMY: “How did you guys get off the island?”
She grins and looks at Kenji.
KENJI (sing song): No spoilers!
Brooklynn rolls her eyes and pulls out the last question.
BROOKLYNN: Last one, “What was the coolest thing about being on Isla Nublar?” Ooh, that’s a hard one.
DARIUS: Well personally I think it was definitely the watering hole. Getting to see all those dinosaurs acting so naturally was amazing!
KENJI: Yeah that was pretty cool.
YAZ: It definitely wasn’t the canned peaches.
BROOKLYNN: At least they weren’t carob!
The campers shudder dramatically at the mention of carob, except Ben.
BEN: Oh come on, carob isn’t that bad.
Darius shakes his head fondly.
DARIUS: Ben, we love you, but you’re wrong. Also, you still eat grubs.
Ben rolls his eyes but grins.
BEN: They are a very good source of protein!
Darius opens his mouth to continue the argument, he’s clear he’s enjoying it, but Sammy interrupts.
SAMMY: No! We’re not having this conversation! I don’ need ta hear about all the health benefits of eat’n grubs again.
Brooklynn laughs before changing the topic.
BROOKLYNN: Going back to the question I think that the dinosaurs were definitely the coolest part of the island, at least when they weren’t trying to eat us.
YAZ: Yeah, the coolness really gets nerfed when the cool thing is trying to kill you. But they’re dinosaurs, they’re still cool.
The other campers nod in agreement.
BROOKLYNN: Well that’s all the time we have, so thanks everyone for watching! Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss next week’s episode and check out our instagram and twitter linked below, and we’ll see you next week on Surviving Jurassic World!
The campers all wave to the camera.
ALL: Bye!

Sinoceratops. These centrosaurs can be identified by their distinct horns along the top of their frill. While usually calm, like most large herbivores, when spooked or cornered this dino is just as dangerous as any predator. #SurvivingJurassicWorld #DinosWithDarius

Carnotaurus. These large carnivores can be identified by their distinct horns on the top of their skull. It is incredibly aggressive and very fast, but not very good at quick turns. #SurvivingJurassicWorld #DinosWithDarius

KENJI: Ugh…
The video starts showing Darius and Kenji standing in front of and staring at a large pile of dinosaur dung, flies buzzing around them. They turn around and the camera pans to show Dave and Roxy standing in front of one of the camp trucks. Roxy is holding two shovels which she tosses to them.
ROXIE: Enjoy cleaning this up boys.
She turns around and starts walking towards the truck.
ROXIE: We’re going to the genetics lab.
The other campers go to follow her, coming around from behind the camera. Ben has his hand over his mouth and Sammy is plugging her nose with her fingers. The camera jostles for a moment as Brooklynn hops into the truck before focusing to show the view from the truck, looking back at Darius and Kenji. Dave tosses a bottle of something at Darius, who catches it and looks at it.
DAVE: Cologne. That’ll help with the smell, and the ladies! But mostly the smell. The stench of dinosaur poo can really linger.
DARIUS: What? But…?
The truck starts and the camera starts to move backward as the truck drives away, leaving Darius and Kenji behind.

Velociraptors. These dinosaurs are incredibly intelligent pack hunters. While their intelligence means they might be willing to team up against a shared enemy, they are first and foremost a predator, and trespassing on their territory is a very bad Idea. #SurvivingJurassicWorld #DinosWithDarius
[Image ID: A velociraptor at night, surrounded by bushes. It looks like it’s standing only a few meters away, and is staring directly at the person holding the camera.]

Are We Too Late?

It’s been six months since the evacuation of Jurassic World, and Dave and Roxie are going back to Camp Cretaceous. Legally this time, so they wouldn’t get arrested for trying to steal a helicopter and delayed another six months.
As Mr. Kon’s boat pulls up to the docks where they had first met the kids, Roxie reaches for Dave’s hand.
Please let them be okay, please. She knows it’s probably useless to hope. They were just kids, the odds of them managing to survive a few days on an island full of rampaging dinosaurs is slim, but six months? No, there’s almost no way, but she has to try. She needs to at least try to find them.
Dave squeezes her hand as the boat bumps against the dock. Pulling her towards the back of the boat where there’s a Jeep waiting for them. “Come on, let’s go find our kids.”
The camp was the first place they headed, driving along the same road they had taken the kids down that first day. The gate was completely destroyed. Something huge had broken through it. They kept driving.
As they got closer to the camp, Roxie wondered what they’d find. The kids had said that the camp had been attacked, but that was all they knew. They were hoping that it had remained intact enough for the kids to shelter there.
The camp appears through the trees and Dave and Roxie are stunned. The old camp that was up in the trees is completely gone. In its place is a slightly ramshackle structure on stilts, with a wire fence surrounding it.
“Is that a slide?” Dave asks, almost laughing in relief.
Roxie doesn’t answer, jumping out of the Jeep instead. She calls out to the campers as she runs to the camp, Dave only grabbing one of the dino prods before following right behind her, but there’s no answer from the kids.
Her heart sinks. Where are they? They built this, they must have. So why weren’t they here? “Kids?"
The two of them start exploring, looking for any sign of the campers. They find plenty. There’s a tin of hair gel on one of the tables next to a mostly empty bottle of hand sanitizer, a pile of empty cans in a corner, and a wall full of chalk drawings. They’re alive, they have to be, who else would have built all this? But where are they?
The longer they look around the camp, the more worried they become. The only unopened supplies they can find are a couple cans of carob powder, there are compies running around like they own the place, and fallen leaves and tree branches are scattered around the camp.
Dave is the one who figures out the chalkboard. "Hey Roxie, you might want to see this.”
She walks over from where she was looking at the sleeping area, happy to have a distraction from the fact there are only five beds. There’s a bunch of drawings on the board, and each one has a list of bullet points below it. She starts to read through them before realizing what she’s looking at. “They’re plans!”
“Escape plans. The kids were trying to get off the island.” He points to one of the drawings. “I think they built a raft.”
Roxie looks closer at the image. It’s crossed out just like the rest (did they really consider flying a helicopter?), but this one has an extra note next to it:
Raft attempt number one was unsuccessful and we lost the sail. Still the best option, we just need to find a new sail.
The kids tried to get to Costa Rica on a raft, and they were going to try again. “Are we too late?” She asks Dave.
Dave hesitates before pulling her into a hug. “I don’t know.”
They spend the next two weeks searching the island for the campers, taking turns going out to search, so that someone is always there at camp, just in case. They never find them, and the campers never return to the camp. They have to leave after that, the ship isn’t staying any longer. All they left at camp is a few packages of food, a satellite phone, and a note:
I’m sorry we were too late kids. We got arrested for trying to steal a helicopter. We came as soon as we could, but it looks like you got tired of waiting. I really hope you all make it to Costa Rica, but if you don’t, and end up back here, please use the phone to call us. I promise we’ll come get you, even if we have to steal another helicopter to do it.
——————————————————————————————
It’s my birthday! (tomorrow)
So I took some time for myself and finished one of my WIPs! It’s not perfect, but hey It’s one of the first things i’ve written for fun in a while. So i’ll take it.
Also if anyone is wondering about the five beds thing, I like the idea of Ben sleeping with bumpy at night, and the angst potential of them only finding five beds was stuck in my head.

Azura Book Club
You know those early dawn moments when you get to sleep in, where your mind is half awake and comes up with the most entertaining ideas?
Well this morning my mind asked the question what would happen if Luz and Amity's Azura book club got more people to join from school, and I like the answer.
Luz and Amity are hanging out at school, and are talking about Azura. Willow and Gus walk up, and ask what Azura is. Cue excited rambling from Luz where she hands them two copies of the first book she just happens to have on her and invites both of them the next meeting of the Azura book club.
Gus and Willow enjoy the book, and become official members of the Azura book club.
One day Viney overhears them talking in the hallway. Turns out she's just as big of an Azura fan as Luz and Amity. One thing leads to another and the whole detention track ends up joining.
By this point Amity is feeling kind of bummed out. She's enjoying the book club and all the new members, but she also misses back when it was just her and Luz. But Luz is cute when she's exited so she goes along with it. Eventually Luz notices and ends up taking Amity on a bunch of makeup dates. They're adorable.
Somewhere along the line Ed and Em join the club. Originally they just wanted to tease Amity, but they end up getting really invested in the story.
Now here's the interesting part. The emperor's coven gets word of a secret group forming at Hexside. The more they hear the more suspicious it becomes. The group is made up of known troublemakers and some of the school's most powerful students. Meetings are usually held in the home of the Owl Lady, a known wild witch, or in the secret passageways of the school.
By the time they find out the name of the group, the Emperor is fully convinced that the group is a threat. A small one, as, other than the Owl Lady who does not have magic, all participants seem to be students, but a threat that needs to be monitored.
So the Emperor orders Hunter to infiltrate the Azura book club.
Hunter is to read the Azura books and then use them as a cover to infiltrate the group. They will be forced to let him in otherwise they'll blow their cover as a book club. A perfect plan.
So Hunter shows up at the Owl House and asks to join the book club. Amity is wary of course, but Luz is welcoming and invites him in.
Hunter doesn't find anything suspicious during that first meeting, so he goes back. And then he goes back again. And again.
Eventually he really is coming for the book club. He even ends up making friends!
The end result is Hunter defecting from the Emperor's Coven because he became an Azura fanboy.
