Chinese Swing Arms - Qigong Exercises By Shonali Sabherwal The Chinese Swing Arm exercise relaxes you, while it breaks up negative ‘qi’ or ‘prana’ or energy. It comes from the health and wellness system of the Chinese called ‘Quigong.’ It has many health benefits, improves blood sugar control, so great for diabetics; and also prevents heart disease. This was a regular practice when I was studying Macrobiotics, in addition to waking up the meridians in the mornings. I use it when I am travelling, and do not get the time to skip, go to the gym or do yoga just 15 minutes of it; and I feel refreshed.  To know more visit: http://soulfoodshonali.com/consultations/list-of-ailments/

First Step of Vipassanā Meditation | Shonali Sabherwal One of the first steps in the practice of Vipassanā meditation (one of India’s most ancient meditation techniques, introduced by Gautama Buddha, more than 2500 years ago) is called ‘Ana Panasati’ meditation, which means mindfulness of breathing. The goal is to just observe the breath below the nostrils and above the upper lip area. Do not regulate the breath. You work with the natural normal breath. It is basically done as the first step in meditation to quiet the mind and thought patterns. Visit http://soulfoodshonali.com/ to know more.
