@sonic-the-hedgehog-2006's theory regarding this oddity:
"Maybe your dreams always take the form of a playable party experience. In the sonic universe. and sonic, egomaniac that he is, has called this event Sonic Shuffle"
This would be kind of strange.
The November 22 2024 "Sonic Twitter and TikTok Takeover" done to promote Sonic x Shadow Generations briefly mentions Sonic Shuffle, oddly describing it in a way that indicates it is a game that "exists in-universe"* and would theoretically be possible for a Sonic character to play. This could be interpreted as indicating that Sonic Shuffle is not considered canon, at least by whoever is most directly responsible for Sonic saying this (unsure if it's improv or pre-written), or alternatively that there's some kind of Nickelodeon sitcom extended universe type issue happening where Sonic Shuffle is both a series of real events and an in-universe video game. I'm not going to entertain the implications of this.
*If you try to get me to say the Twitter Takeovers are reflective of any element of canon at all I will break out in hives I hate these things more than you can imagine. I'm Sonic Shuffle 2000

#sonic the hedgehog#sth#sonic twitter takeover#Also Sonic acts like a dreamcast game about him would have existed in the 50s-70s?#Baby logic. It's like when I was 3 years old and I asked my dad if he played on the computer when he was little (it was not possible then.)

Issue #92 of the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comics contained a brief story, written by Ken Penders, made to tie-in with the release of Sonic Shuffle. (Though the issue was actually released several months after Shuffle came out.)
In this comic, 2 panels are inexplicably dedicated to Lumina giving Sonic a bracelet. This bracelet has no explained purpose, and no equivalent item exists in the Sonic Shuffle game. This bracelet never appeared again in the comics, as the Sonic Shuffle tie-in lasted all of 8 pages, being simply a brief introduction of the game's premise in order to promote it.
The official Archie Sonic encyclopedia (not to be confused with the Encyclo-speed-ia) would later confirm that the entire events of Sonic Shuffle did occur, offscreen, in the pre-reboot canon. The bracelet remained unexplained.
#sonic the hedgehog#sth#sonic shuffle#archie sonic#sonic trivia#I pointed out that penders wrote it just for haha funny but to be honest the writing is relatively inoffensive all things considered.#Aside from the inexplicable mystery bracelet.#I guess Lumina has silver age superhero comic dialogue disease but that's whatever.#In one panel (not shown here) Sonic is mistakenly colored so he looks like he has a human nose.

And, you guessed it, more sonic warmups and studies for the sketchbook (that will sooner or later have no more blank pages, hopefully)

Illumina bears a distinct resemblance to statues that appear in the Dusty Desert stage of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), having a similar hood as well as similar sleeves. The hoods worn by these statues in turn resemble the head of Solaris from the same game.
The significance of this, if any was intended, is unknown, though Illumina and Solaris do share a similarity in their storylines, with both being gods that have been split into two entities.
Notably, Sonic Shuffle and Sonic '06 share the same anniversary of November 14th, being released in the US exactly 6 years apart. Happy 24th and 18th anniversary!
#sonic the hedgehog#sth#sonic shuffle#sonic 06#sonic trivia#illumina#solaris#The Sonic fan wiki for some reason says Sonic Shuffle released on the 13th. But if you check their source it says the 14th.#So I really don't know why it says that.

My friend @sonic-the-hedgehog-2006 offhandedly mentioned a week or two ago that I should draw Mephiles from '06 and Void from Sonic Shuffle together for their shared birthday. I don't know if she still remembers saying that, but I drew it anyways.
#sonic the hedgehog#sth#sonic 06#sonic shuffle#art#I was going to make a tag for posting my own fanart on this blog but I forgot what it was supposed to be.#I also intended to make a picture that didn't have Mephiles in it but I kept being lazy...Maybe if I can try to hustle.

Prior to the release of 2022's Sonic Frontiers, a leak from someone who claimed to be a playtester for the game stated that the final boss of the game would be Void from Sonic Shuffle. This wasn't true at all, but holy shit can you imagine?
#sonic the hedgehog#sth#sonic shuffle#sonic frontiers#This post is kind of nothing sorry I just always thought this was funny.#I saw a forum post screenshotting this leak before Frontiers released though and I knew there was no way#but also it was just kind of really funny to imagine the game being hyped up to start a new era of the franchise#being a stealth sequel to a Dreamcast party game that got mixed reviews.#It's possible the leaker may have mistaken Sage for Void but also Sage is not the final boss either. I think they may have just been lying.

The fourth prequel comic made for 2017's Sonic Forces, "Rise of Infinite", includes a minor reference to Sonic Shuffle.
When Cubot is coming up with names for the newly discovered Phantom Ruby, one of the names he says is "Precious Stone", a reference to the Precioustone from Sonic Shuffle.
Though the following trivia is not related to Sonic Shuffle, "Anarchy Beryl" is also a name that had been previously used in the Sonic series; It was the name of the counterparts to the Chaos Emeralds in the Moebius/Anti-Mobius Zone in the pre-reboot Archie Sonic comics. However, Ian Flynn has stated that the term's use in Rise of Infinite was not a deliberate reference to the Archie comics, but only a joke derived from "Chaos Emerald", and that he'd simply forgotten that he'd used the name before.
Today's the 7th anniversary of Sonic Forces! (...7th!?)
#sonic the hedgehog#sth#sonic forces#sonic shuffle#sonic trivia#...Most of this post isn't even Sonic Shuffle related. But I couldn't not mention the Anarchy Beryl thing.

In case any of my 6 followers do not have the opportunity to view this blog through its desktop theme I have made a demonstrative gif of its current state (I may still edit it more in the future) so you can see why I want people to look at it.
This is the cutting edge of Sonic-Shuffle-themed Tumblr blog technology I just want it to be appreciated.
#The basis of the theme was made with eggdesign's theme builder which it doesn't generate themes with a credit link#so I'm not sure if it's considered a requirement. But I thought I should say.#Because the day night toggle is only present due to that. But I made it switch out the images myself.#Also for fun I put the banner from the official website since the post about it went up ^.^
