You know what the worst part of having a dissociative disorder is, for me personally?

The emotional amnesia.

Your entire life feels like something that you watched on TV, rather than something that you actually lived through.

You know that some of the most horrific things imaginable have happened to you, and you feel nothing about it. Sure, the memories disgust you on principle, but you don’t feel anything.

It makes you question if anything that you remember is real. If that actually happened, shouldn’t it feel significant? Shouldn’t you be sad, angry, hurt, something?

And to top it all off, nobody understands. Not even yourself.

Why are so many people sleeping on the Octocon app and Discord bot? The app syncs with the bot that's a feature I wanted with simply plural and pk forever. The alter journals are really useful too. More people should talk about Octocon!!

Stop. Fearmongering. Mental Health Diagnosis.

In the majority of cases:

You cannot be forced into inpatient just for receiving a diagnosis.

You cannot be forced into any type of treatment just for receiving a diagnosis.

You cannot be deemed legally incompetent just for receiving a diagnosis.

You won't lose legal rights just for receiving a diagnosis.

You can't be denied life saving medical care just for receiving a diagnosis.

Diagnosis is time consuming and stressful, but its not a fucking death sentence. Its a gateway to proper treatment, and it's insanely dangerous to spread misinformation about health care to justify anti recovery sentiments.

Pushing people away from evaluations they need has the potential to KILL THEM.

Dont put that blood on your hands.
