"Well, just in case you really don't want to, make sure to say trick-or-treat when asking for candy."
"I really don't..." Unless Maria wanted to, but she's not here!

"Well, it's a good thing that you aren't obligated to participate then, isn't it? Something tells me that you want to, though."
"It doesn't change the fact it's a pointless holiday..."

"I don't think you threaten anyone for candy, but you do need to know a special code word to receive it."
"So, you dress up and threaten someone for...Candy? What a foolish holiday." Maria would've loved it...

"I don't think that's how napping works...with aging, at least."

"Tell me about it...it's the perfect weather to catch a cold. Horrible weather for diving as well..so tumultuous. Summer is an agonizing season, but at least it leaves the waters nice and calm."
"The visceral drop in temperature makes it difficult to believe it was hot just recently. And makes it harder to leave the comfort of bed. If it wasn't for Wingal and Momo, I could wind up hibernating through the winter".

Though still a little flustered at the initial awkwardness of their encounter, Kokomi eases once she sees that he's unfazed. She's always been uncomfortable around people, though less so lately. It can't be helped that she feels the need to coil back each time she's in the presence of another. This is remedied, however, when a creation of his own comes to greet her, and the priestess holds out her hand to guide it forward, fingers brushing against its essence.
Kokomi hums thoughtfully at his words. "It could, yes. Seeing a dearly departed comrade could cause more heartache if anything, for example." Index finger moves to scratch underneath the dragon's chin before it settles into coiling around her arm. "Why not something that could make you happy instead? A harmless thing, maybe. Something that would bring you peace."
"Like this little one," she's talking about the dragon, of course. "I can hardly see how it could cause any harm. Or these fish that I've created." Simple creatures such as these could hardly hurt a fly even if given the opportunity.
Soon enough, a jellyfish made of the same watery essence pops into existence, joining the small herd of animals. "…Though maybe you think me childish for being entertained by something so simple." even still, she can't help that things like these give her a content feeling.
DREAMS WERE SOMETHING OFTEN HAD, whether bad or good. times of peaceful moments amongst his parents and, in turn, the weight of all those who have been lost amidst tragic resonances in his command. to experience an area where one can control such... he isn't exactly certain what to think. and yet one seems to be not so adverse to the idea as golden gaze turns, taking note of a pink-haired woman with a school of watery fish swimming happily circling her. until they saw a new target 一 him.
whatever drew their attention, he can only assume it has something to do with him, given how embarrassed she seems from the incident. lifting a hand, he keeps one of the bubbles from finding his face, though hardly seems annoyed.
❝ I agree. Some of the creations I came across were more dangerous than beneficial, ❞ he speaks, seeming more judgmental on those particular decisions.
danger was always rife within the world, yet to call upon it for a selfish whim without consideration to other people was something he would never be able to agree with. ❝ In all honesty, I don't even know what I would wish to call in. There are a lot of paths one can take, but the consequences of them could be irreversible, even if this all is just a dream. ❞ such as recollecting a lost comrade or manifesting them to be happy. all it would do is lead one to another parting and another stone to carry in their heart.
moving his hand over, a finger holds itself to help guide one of the fish back to its creator, in turn manifesting a small, teal dragon of wind so that it could help heard them back, too.

In a world where anything could be made possible with a simple thought, Kokomi finds enjoyment in the simple things. The gentle sparkle of her vision, followed by a wave of her hand, summons a small fish made of pure hydro energy. A small joy, but still one that makes her smile as her creation does slow laps around her hand. What was one fish soon becomes two, then three, four, and five until she conjures about a dozen of them, each more different than the last.
Now a parade of fish circles her, small bubbles accompanying them as she admires them. However, their happy little swimming march soon turns out to be much more than she bargained for, as they soon start to wander. Off they float to an unexpected observer, one whose head they now encircle and blow bubbles for. Kokomi only stopped to realize this once he cleared his throat and what fish remained near her suddenly scuttled close, just as timid as their creator. "Oh, I'm--" words have never come easy to her, but they became harder still when caught doing something embarrassing.
"It was…tempting to create them. Better these than whatever else everyone else seems keen on dreaming up, don't you think?" It's a poor attempt at lightening the already awkward mood, followed by nervous laughter to boot. The fish that circled his head continued to blow bubbles in response.

"It's supposed to be refreshing. And having tried it for myself, I can say that I wholly agree. And even if you end up disliking it entirely then...at least you can say that you tried, right?"
"Ah, I'll keep that in mind. But... With cold noodles? Is that even good?" Maybe for a hot day, which is common in summer.

"Indeed..."
"And if I may add, you've given me a very positive first impression, Your fashion is very..." There's some hesitation as she thinks of what would be an appropriate word to describe her before finally settling on, "Bold, in a word. I don't think it'd necessarily suit me...but it definitely suits you."
⠀⠀⠀❛ ⠀Certainly, you should ! After all, clothes are part of anyone's first impression of you. You may as well have some say in the message they convey, no ? And from a less practical standpoint... the process of replenishing one's wardrobe is far more enjoyable when you have nothing but pieces that appeal to you.⠀ ❜ ⠀

"They're usually cheap at most stores...but what's really important is thinking about everything you can make with watermelon. So many interesting summer recipes, like eating it with cold noodles!"
"Now that it's summer, that means time for beach fun. ... Where can I get watermelon?"

"I've only ever been taught to be modest in what I wear, so I'm not familiar with the sentiment. Maybe it'd do me well to at least try to learn...it seems worth it when you put it like that."
⠀⠀⠀❛ ⠀On the contrary, I find choice to be of the utmost importance when it comes to fashion. You may use your wardrobe to express all sorts of things —much like flowers, the colors and patterns can speak their own language.⠀ ❜ ⠀

"Is there really such a need for a large wardrobe? It can be rather...inconvenient when faced with so many choices. If anything, it's a blessing."
⠀⠀⠀❛ ⠀I appreciate the monthly stipend from our funds back in our own realms, but... I sincerely doubt they take into account a lady's need to update her wardrobe with the seasons.⠀ ❜ ⠀

This question strikes something of a chord with the other, "Ah, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to overstep or make you uncomfortable." thus, the backpedaling begins. How could she not feel embarrassed and a little bit awkward at having caused such a stir? "Nor was I really expecting an answer that was so thoughtful..." At least, when compared to her thoughts on the matter, anyway.
But since she's being so earnest in her answers, it's only right that she return them in kind. "I don't think we'll ever fully understand if it's right or wrong, but the only thing we can do is live in the present moment, don't you think? We owe it to the people who care about us, but most importantly, ourselves."
Often have people asked her of her opinions on her situation; on her stance. Never has one asked her about punishment— Her eyes widen, taking a breath in turn. "Hm.. Perhaps in a way, I do." Edelgard is taken away from her duties, one step closer to the victory she so sought. "I won't deny my mistakes. But, to completely tear me away from my efforts.. It feels as if I'm left to merely stew in my thoughts until I'm able to finish what I started."
A long blink, looking upwards. "I don't take this for granted, but.. I can't help and wonder if this is right. A second chance it may be, but how can I allow myself to feel that way?"

"That's true...you must be very beloved by them. I'm almost a little jealous."
"No, we aren't. We're here to walk along the beach and...whatever else you had in mind. I'm still new to this, remember?"
"Haha, right! My bad."
"My clan and I share the same goals, and in order to reach them, we need to be able to communicate. And that wouldn't work out if I was scary and imposing, yeah?" Came a casual shrug, "We're not here to exchange leadership styles, though, are we?"

"I'm quite the strategist, I'll have you know. Maybe being here was all part of my grand master plan or something."
"That...and I thought it would be good for me. You're so carefree, after all. How do you stay that way all while being someone of importance? Truthfully, it's difficult for me."
He's not going to press his luck, especially considering how far out of her comfort zone she seems. So, for now, he trails behind her.
"Kind of an elaborate way to just see Vaporeon, don't you think?" He's poking a little fun at her, "But, if that's how you want to go about it. Who am I to judge?"

"Yeah. The only way I saw myself doing this was for political reasons. Marriage too, when I really think about it. It almost feels freeing to have been able to say no--not that I wanted to say no." With that, she starts walking ahead of him, but still close enough so that he'd be able to hear her say, "I'm only here in part because I wanted to see Vaporeon again, anyway."
"That means they're a good basis for what not to do then, right?" That was how Adaman was choosing to spin it.
"Hey, no shame about that! We're both pretty important where we're from, right? Where's the time for something like that?"

The presence of his Pokemon makes this a little easier on her and she doesn't feel quite as embarrassed as she did before arriving, thank goodness. "How else? Reading." she shrugs, "Poorly written books probably incredibly out of date and by people who haven't actually been on a date themselves...needless to say, I didn't learn anything. Nothing of value, anyway."
"I think I've decided my best bet is to just go with the flow, as you said. Even if I'm not really sure what that means. And this is the first time I've ever been out with anyone officially. Well, aside from one person but...that was more of just an outing."
"I mean it's not everyday that happens, right?" His rhetorical question is followed by an easy going smile. And it's not like they were alone anyway, his pokemon were insistent on coming along too...Couldn't get anything done, it seemed.
"Sure is. But, I'm dying to know how you even prepare for a date." As far as he'd concerned himself, all he brought was himself, so maybe Kokomi was playing 4d chess over here.
"If you want to tell me that is."
