The NYRA is an organization that advocates lessening or removing legal restrictions that are imposed on the youth and not adults such as the voting age, curfews etc. Their headquarters is in Washington D.C. but they have offices all over and have over 10,000 members nationwide! It was formed in 1998 by members of the Canadian Youth Rights Association as a way to help unify the youth rights movement all over. They spread their message by campaigning and protesting when necessary.

My interview experience was a pretty good one. The topic I had to ask about was Family and Friends, who has a bigger impact on the youth. I interviewed one of my friends and it actually was a pretty fun experience. I learned a lot about her family and views that I didn't know about! It was a very lighthearted interview and felt more like a conversation than an interview. She responded to all of my questions the way I thought she would. I know her way too well.

http://www.toptenz.net/top-10-issues-facing-our-youth-today.php
this article is about 10 of the biggest issues facing the youth today and just how they affect them. It is framed in a thematic more sporadic kind of way. Instead of just focusing on the negatives, I would reframe it by focusing more on what can be done to help or stop the said issues in the article.

http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2013/08/02/loan-a02.html
I believe this article does fit into youth and society the way Giroux views it. The article is about the ever increasing student loan interest rates and how it affects many students across the country. This article goes hand in hand with what Giroux said about the government cutting back on basic social services such as going to school. This is article shows that there is indeed a very real war against youth happening at least when it comes to affording education.

I chose to respond to Why 30 is not the new 20. Its main point was that the 20's are not just throw away years, it's the time to really do some personal work on yourself and getting your life together. It's the years you do your exploring that is going to help you in the long run. I picked it because it closely resembles the philosophy I have about my 20's, I call them selfish years and plan on using them to mold myself into the person I want to become in the end. I really agreed with Meg's statement about not just marrying somebody because all your friends are getting married. Marriage is important, it's not just something you settle on a your bronze medal choice for. I also agree that great things come from your weak ties and not from your inner circle. Life begins when you leave your comfort zone, that's where opportunity lies.

This video was about the youth unemployment and not being in school epidemic this country faces and one of the programs aimed at trying to fix it. The intended message of this video is that we have to act in order to fix this unemployment problem so that the youth can have the skills necessary to be successful individuals in their futures! I believe that this is a problem that the youth in general are facing and not just a specific youth subculture.

This is a picture I took of my friends dancing! This shows that youth in our society today like to have fun with a group of people!

The question I chose was "Are casual sexual experiences being normalized?"
I chose to use the video "Sext Me Later" to answer this.
I do believe that casual sexual experiences are being normalized. This video makes it sound like casual sexual experiences are pretty much the norm. They talk about how students are feeling like they're being pressured into casual hook ups by their peers! That makes it sound like it's the norm.

I thought this was interesting because now that I think about it, a lot of today's youth just sit on social media sits all day and don't do much else. It's good to see somebody draw attention to more active youth! I wouldn't really add anything because I think using the highly successful basketball team was a great thing to use!

The guys in this picture all attend Michigan State University. The age ranges between 18-24 (Freshman - Senior). This pictures shows many different races. To name a few they’re African Americans, Caucasians, Bi Racial , Asian, Hispanic and Lantino.

The reason why I chose this picture is because it shows that not all youth or “millenials" just sit around on twitter and facebook ,and be lazy. This pictures goes againt what Joel Sein was saying about today’s youth.

My personal favorite subculture, The Hipsters! Hipsters are defined by the way they dress (thick rimmed glasses, vintage clothes etc), the music they listen to and their general way of thinking. A lot of their views run contrary to the mainstream and the mainstream is seen to be a bad thing. It's a culture born of dislike  of the mainstream culture. It's all about expression. Most hipsters are located in suburban or urban areas, often riding around main cities with their friends. Hipsters come in all shapes and sizes, but a lot of them seem to be white, middle class suburban teenagers/adults!
