Unsuspecting
“By the time they figure it out, we’ll be long gone,” he told his wife, kissing her gently on the cheek.
“How much do you think we’ll be able to get for it?”  she replied, with an insatiable greed in her eyes.
“Enough to slow down for the next couple of months and enjoy all of our, I mean their hard work.”

Knock Knock
When Jamie was young, she often dreamed of traveling abroad.  “I will visit all of the continents before I turn forty,” she would boast to her family and friends.  Now, two days away from that monumental milestone, she reflects on what was, and what could have been.  She has regrets.  Jamie has seen two countries, a far cry from seven continents.  She has learned to play it safe in life.  Travel…

Poorly Written
I’m not a hater but, the same way I have to accept that every writer ain’t an author, is the same way I must acknowledge that every author ain’t no writer.  Let’s be honest. There are some errors that spell-check just can’t fix.

Lesson Learned: Success
I’ve learned that success looks like different person to person, that’s why it’s hard to truly measure it.  Not everybody wants a mansion, larger than life bank account, or an ambitious career, and that’s okay.  However, in order to level the playing fields of success, growth should be the determining factor.  Ask yourself, “Am I better now, than I was last year this time?”  If the answer is yes,…

Lavender scented candles fill the air as she fully undresses and stands naked at her mirror.  Running a bath to further wash away her week, she puts on some jazz.  Incognito blows in the background.  It moves her and she does a little two-step.  Examining her exposed figure, she shows disapproval with her breast.  However she promised herself a long time ago to find peace with the…

Good Morning
“Who in the hell cuts down a tree at 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday?”  Dylan cried as he stared at his phone with disgust.  Besides saying goodbye to his friends, and hopping in the car with a perfect stranger, he could vaguely remember the events of last night.
“What was her name?”  He wondered.  “I hope she left her number, she was fun.”

Surface
I remember the summer nights of my youth when the real darkness didn’t arrive until well past the first flicker of the streetlights.  We would ride our bikes all the way to the edge of the city and use the trail to get to the dock.  Back then there were no danger signs, and though the water was deep, somehow we always made it back to the surface.
