her  true  feelings  were  out  and  she  could  see  the  fear  that  took  over  him.  practically  radiating  off  of  him  like  high  beams.  his  eyes  showing  such.  she  didn't  regret  the  words.  they  were  bound  to  be  told  eventually.  and  maybe  his  reaction  would  be  very  much  the  same  as  it  is  now.  “cain���”  with  the  shake  of  her  head,  she  moved  closer�� again.  her  hands  brought  back  up  to  his  face.  cupping  them  in  between  her  hands  with  the  gentle  strokes  of  her  thumbs.  wanting  to  provide  him  the  comfort  that  he  may  need.

“i'm  always  in  danger.  i'm  a  hunter.  but  that  also  means  that  i  can  protect  myself.  i  can  fight  back.”  attempting  to  keep  their  gazes  locked  so  he  could  listen,  “i  also  know  so  many  hunters.  that  includes  the  stubborn  winchesters.  i  have  all  the  protection  that  i  need,  okay?  whatever  happens,  you  know  i  can  hold  my  own  and  fight  alongside  with  you.”  tugging  him  close  and  pressing  her  forehead  against  his,  “i  really  mean  it.  i  do  love  you.”

Spending more and more time together, building trust, sharing intimacies. All this ever spoke clearly between them. So why does he freeze on the spot when Sonny says the words? Cain hasn't gotten to filling the cups with scalding water yet, the kettle held just above the first. Before he slowly puts it down. it's  been  awhile  since  sonny  allowed  herself  to  not  work.  her  whole  entire  being  is  the  safehouse  and  hunting.  patching  up  hunters,  feeding  hunters,  hunting  monsters.  a  never  ending  cycle  that  she  never  got  out  of.  that  is  until  she  was  scolded  and  told  to  go  out  and  breathe.  do  something  to  let  loose.  as  if  the  world  knew,  there  was  a  flyer  for  dancing.  and  who  else  would  be  a  better  partner  than  dean?  if  she  had  to  take  a  break,  she  was  going  to  make  him.  which  she  knew  wouldn't  take  a  lot  of  convincing  the  moment  he  saw  her  in  the  dress.  did  it  feed  into  her  ego?  maybe  just  a  little  bit.  now  they  were  walking  into  the  little  building.  music  blasting  from  the  live  band  on  stage,  people  dancing  on  the  dance  floor,  a  few  others  around  drinking  at  the  high  tables  or  at  the  bar.  the  environment  was  lively.

glancing  over  at  dean  to  examine  his  mood,  he  seemed  rather  cheerful.  a  good  sign.  so  she  took  his  hand  into  hers,  “gonna  show  me  your  moves  that  you  constantly  brag  about?”

draping  the  blanket  over  her  friend,  sonny  settled  down  right  next  to  her.  it  wasn't  hard  to  see  that  the  blonde  was  deep  in  thought.  but  sonny  always  learned  to  never  to  push.  otherwise,  it  would  cause  a  negative  reaction.  everyone's  able  to  speak  on  their  own  terms.  when  they're  ready.  “no  need  to  thank  me.  thought  you  could  use  a  blanket.”  her  smile  still  on  her  face  before  letting  her  own  hues  wander  a  head.  sitting  in  a  comfortable  silence.  it  helped  that  sonny  has  always  been  a  morning  person.  despite  rarely  sleeping.  “how  long  have  you  been  up?”
