Sorry I never updated this after around two years.
Well, I decided I’m going to pick back up where I left off.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Capcom
Released October 2001 Available on GBA, DS, iOS, and 3DS. This game follows Phoenix Wright, a new defense attorney as he defends his clients’ innocence in court. Along the way, me meets a cast of crazy characters including spirit mediums, sadistic prosecutors, air headed judges, and even a parrot. Most famous for it’s “Objection!” Mechanic, it uses investigation and dissecting witness testimonies in order to solve the truth behind the case.
I, Snickerfriend, will be doing a screen cap Lets play of the Ace Attorney series. I will be providing commentary and other useful knowledge about this game. I will be playing the first trilogy on iOS.
I’ve already played most of the Ace Attorney series before, although I have skipped some of the episodes. It’s been awhile though. In this playthrough, I’ll try not to use any walkthroughs or guides so to provide a more authentic experience.
Since this is a full Lets play, there will be spoilers everywhere. Consider this your warning now. If there aren’t anymore objections, lets play.

Would you say that Reeve.....shouldn't leave those things lying around?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh my god look at his face he’s so into it
anyway, being chased by Blue the Blue is actually kind of harrowing, sort of reminds me of Left 4 Dead
youtube
also, more evidence that Reeve is up to something sketchy: not only does he have a gatling gun in his van, he’s got this rocket launcher just laying around
you know, for peacekeeping missions and stuff, the WRO is all about peace REEVE’S BEHIND IT ALL

Later that evening, someone tries to steal the evidence Mia's been holding. Sorry for this mysterious stranger, Mia gave it to Maya to hold. The world of Ace Attorney is so corrupt that a teenage girl's desk drawers are a safer place to hold evidence than the law office. Anyways, I guess there aren't any security guards at Fey Law Co.

Maya really loves burgers. Especially chicken and noodle burgers soaked in broth and served in noodle shops.

In his official art, it looks like Phoenix gets progressively angrier with each passing game o.o

Mia calls Maya to ask her to hold evidence for her, which is extremely problematic. Maya is a teenaged spirit medium, she has no legal authority to be in charge of any evidence. This the law and justice system here, there are rules here! It's no wonder there's so many criminals running around and so many innocent people get imprisoned; the court system is so incompetent that they can't keep track of any evidence. And all of this is before the trial even starts. I'll have a lot more to say once Edgeworth and Von Karma start pulling their shenanigans. Oh, and there's the Thinker Clock again.

This episode starts with our friend Mia calling her sister Maya. Even though Mia says her name, the game still calls her "???"

Frank’s blatant lies trick the player into believing that Ace Attorney is an easy game.
Also, this is the first time that we see Phoenix shout and Objection! But I missed it while taking photos :(

Payne managed to find a reliable witness that can point his well-groomed fingers at Larry. Our witness’ name is hilariously written as “Frank Sahwit”
All of these punny names in the first few minutes of the game should show the player exactly what to expect from this experience. Just as you think for one second that this court simulator dealing with horrific murders is going to take itself seriously, in comes a guy named Sahwit.
Sadly for Sahwit, he’s suffering from an extreme case of Tutorial Boss Syndrome. Since we knew from the opening scene that Frank in his purple suit is indeed the murderer, it’s just a matter of finding the lies in his testimony. He says he knew what time the murder was since he saw the time on the TV.

We’re given the option to have Larry testify about visiting Cindy’s apartment.
I was able to make my decision after watching this video on the fifth amendment. In case you don’t feel like watching a 45 minute long lecture, the TLDR of it is that you always want to remain silent when you are accused of a crime. If you speak, anything you say will be held against you. If you don’t say anything, you can’t incriminate yourself. This is especially good to remember if you are falsely accused, like our friend Larry here.
So I know that Phoenix is a good lawyer right? so I tell Larry to not answer anymore so he can’t incriminate himself any further.

Um, no. that wasn’t what I was going for...
