I have always said that the writers are the absolute worst but you have to wonder why they are so mean-spirited about Mon-El. Like, what did we ever do to them? We weren't the ones parked in their mentions cursing at them at every turn.

So Brainy tells Mon-El he's needed in the future, effectively ending his dreams of staying back and rekindling a relationship with Kara (after he and Imra break up).

When it's his turn, Brainy tells the future to screw itself and that's apparently a happy ending.

Mon-El is too busy in the future to come back for special events like Alex's wedding but apparently, Winn can. And they make it clear it's not a one-off because he doesn't plan to ever return for anything even though he can. Being separated by lead or even Legion duties made sense but now he chooses to stay away from these people who were a big part of his development "for reasons."

I connected with Mon-El because he was a funny character with heart and seeing certain factions of fans constantly maligning him, intentionally misinterpreting his actions in the worst way, mischaracterizing every single thing he did and spreading the worst lies about him was disgusting. But it was one thing for the fans to do this and another for the writers to decide to "other" him.

So the OG and new characters continue to be a part of Kara's world... all but Mon-El who is married to his Legion duties and has no room to relax and celebrate with others and as far as we can tell, doesn't even have a personal life in the future. I honestly wouldn't have minded if he had said he was happily married or they implied some kind of work-life balance for him.

I made my peace-ish with this a long time ago but I can't deny that their decision to add that line about him not planning to return "in this lifetime" was a fresh reminder that they will always treat Mon-El like a bastard child.

But seriously, he ended S3 with "if you ever need me..." then ended the show with "I have no plans to ever come back."

As this show has finally come to a close and there will never be any more new scenes, all I can say is: Mon-El, you deserved better and will always be too good for this show, writers and fandom. And thank you for introducing me to Chris Wood's comedy chops. I hope I get to see him playing a big, funny character again.

Not trying to be negative but dansen, brainia, rojascorp, and J’onn and Kara hugged after the fight ends, and Mon-El hangs back? SCs are saying there’s no proof they’re romantic but I’m a little confused about what this means?

First of all, stop listening to supercraps, they are all bitter bitches who are just traumatized by all the conent they hate and the idea their precious snowflake ship is titanic-ed.

Secondly, don't believe a shit they say.

Thirdly, bitch please, they haven't seen each other for years, he was married last time, their last goodbye was awkward, give them time :P 5 more days filming, they are having a face to face conversation. Also, she is going to the future. Think about it.

Yeah, I totally agree! The amount of people that think Mon-El and Imra are still married is unbelievable. They either totally missed Imra’s line about closure and the marriage being a failure, or they think that just because Mon-El ended up returning to the future he would automatically get back with Imra. So yeah, the writers should definitely clarify this if they plan to bring Karamel back together.

Maybe Post-Crisis Mon-el hasn't have a wife? I mean it is possible right? So maybe in S6 we'll get karamel endgame 🥺

We can get Karamel endgame in S6 even if it's the same Mon-El. He and Imra ended their marriage in the S3 finale, remember?

Yeah, definitely, but a nice, well-thought plot that makes sense is too much to ask from the SG writers. We always waste our precious time coming up with lots of great theories, and then the actual outcome is always the lamest possible.

It’s been a while since I’ve been on my personal so when I scrolled through my dash and saw your latest post, I lit up cuz I forgot I was following you. I may or may not be working on a fanfic where I’m basically fixing all of the details that I disliked from Supergirl, focusing primarily on Mon-El. It’s still in the very early stages but it’s gonna happen. I’ve been telling my friends that I’m fixing Supergirl 😂

Yeah, I haven’t posted in a while, I kinda don’t have the patience for Tumblr and its shenanigans anymore...

i've already posted about it on twitter but i thought i should say it here too;

it only took them one scene, just one, to remind every viewer how mon-el will always be the love of kara's life: he understands her like no one else, she values his opinion and trusts him a lot, she's truly free to be her most vulnerable self with him and if it wasn't clear in season 2, they made it clearer now in season 5.

mon-el is the partner kara has always wanted by her side, not only as a superhero, but in her life, he's always so supportive and caring and is always able to bring a smile on her face even when she's doubting herself and her choices.

i have no idea what the writers intend to do with kara's future romantic relationship(s), but karamel's relationship has so much depth, so much chemistry, so much history, that no matter how hard they try to ignore, it's never going to fade away.

mon-el is kara's endgame and i wont accept anything less.

Not sure whether he’s telling the truth or not, but you guys might want to see this...

When actors can’t really talk about something that is going to happen on a show, they usually go the “you’ll have to wait and see” route, but the person was just asking his opinion on the ship name. He didn’t have to confirm or deny anything, but then he was like “nah, don’t hold your breath”. What y’all think?
