There’s something about the Once Upon A Time to Descendants pipeline

Not just scenes but entire plotlines that divert too much from the original thought. Like wanting the orphan to get adopted vs. the daydreaming plotline in which she gets instead taking by a cult who starts to worship her as a silent doll like goddess and the rituals are cruesome.

I have problems. I do.

Me when my one of my MCs, is an orphan who lost her family in a civil war at 4 years old, was then trafficked for four years, then got into an orphanage, there bouncing through millions of foster homes including s*xually abusive ones. The person who saved her from trafficking can't adopt her despite really wanting to. And yeah the MC develops strong chronic illnesses due to her trauma. She's not okay

People who aren’t writers just don’t get it. They think that our favorite OCs would be getting the easiest possible rides in life, but nope, all of our favorite OCs get French-dipped in blood and angst and trauma.

When I am on storyline Nr. 3 of Little Survivor in my head. One week after my normal schedule and I have issues writing the next chapters. Cause the titles of my daydreams that never end up in the actual storyline like "Vallie and the cult", "Vallie and the abusive adoptive family" that lead to very very extended daydreams.

Short: I'm a mess. It's a mess. Everything's a mess.

Is it just me, or are there less comments being written on fics nowadays? I get to a fic on AO3 that was posted weeks ago, and it has like 30 kudos but no comments yet. It happens more and more now. Why is that?

I don't like it.

When you somehow forgot that Tumblr exists during your exam phase.

And the community has produced tons of content you're now drowning in!

But at least I kept writing. At least that.

Including the story that has already had ten different endings and versions in my head and makes me cry on a regular basis

When you want to write and not disappoint your readers (lost 2 subs for not updating for 11 days, lol)

But your professors have decided that within the next three weeks you have to design a health campaign for an organization, assess your own grandparents cognitively, write an essay and a research paper, you have to research a learning ecosystem and interview the people and present it, assess risk factors in a job position, record a fake therapy session and have two partial exams.

So yeah, my professors don't want me to have the time to write fiction I guess. And I hate it😭

so rude that fantasizing about writing alone is not enough to actually get the fic done. you have to actually sit down and write it. insane.
