With LASER ART, traditional anti-HIV drugs are tweaked so they develop a crystal structure, and are then encased in fat-soluble particles. This enables them to slip through the membranes of cells in places where HIV tends to hide, like the liver, lymph tissue, and spleen. Once inside, the cells’ enzymes start to release the drug. The crystal structure releases the drugs more slowly, allowing them to continue killing off dormant viruses as they start to emerge and replicate for months rather than days or weeks, like the conventional forms of the medicines.

@towleroad-blog: ‘This is the story of Bill McCallion, and everyone should watch it. It’s one of the recorded histories that are so necessary from gay men of this generation. It is beautiful, heartbreaking, and extremely moving.McCallion grew up as a working-class kind in the north Manhattan neighborhood of Inwood and read about the Stonewall riots in the newspaper the summer he graduated from high school. 

When he realized that the “Christopher Street” mentioned in the article was the same one that was on the same 1 train that ran through his neighborhood, it led McCallion to his new community, activism, and his first lover. His life in LGBTQ culture spans the 50 years we are recognizing this weekend as the anniversary of those riots, and he has seen it all, including an AIDS crisis that all but decimated that community.

McCallion’s ex, John Voelcker, enlisted filmmaker Sam Hampton to capture the stories he had heard first-hand. Watch them encapsulated in this stunning piece, which is edited down from over 90 minutes of footage.’

Each year the International Report on Snow & Mountain Tourismranks the most visited ski areas based on the average annual skier visits.The latest report, which includes the 2017-18, has just been published and we have the numbers. Interestingly, not a single US ski resort cracked the Top 10.

Early spring snowstorms mean that many ski resorts in the Mountain West are still open — some even plan to be open into May. In Colorado alone, more than 7 million people will be hitting the slopes, meaning there's sure to be injuries. You might want to know how many injuries occur each ski season, or where they happen. But as an investigation by Michael de Yoanna (@mdy1) at KUNC found, resorts don't share information about all their injuries, which means people can't gauge their risks from resort to resort.

I skied as a kid but I’m high school, started snowboarding and fell in love with it. Plus, my snowboard instructor had an Australian accent and was mesmerized by his voice 😜⁣ ⁣ Q: What was the hardest thing to learn when you first started? 😬⁣ ⁣ A: Connecting my turns to carve! Being 6’3”, it’s definitely more challenging. Also, getting over the fear of going fast.
