I’d be so happy for you if you found your little niche with them.” she responded with an evil little grin. “Oh my baby is absolutely wonderful, so much unlike that little thing you have over there.” 

“i’m certain.” she responded without missing a beat. “thanks for all your concerns but no need to worry. it’s good to see how obsessed you seem to be with my well-being, but i think i’ll be okay.” heather was used to this animosity with the blonde. “you mean the school project? i’ll get the perfect grade and that will be all done with.”

𝒔𝒄𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒈  𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒅𝒍𝒚  𝒂𝒕  heather’s  comment  ,  ariel  had  to  suppress  the  laughter  that  was  ready  to  erupt  from  her  lips.   this  little  rivalry  between  the  two  was  always  amusing  to  ariel.  although  heather  was  notorious  at  degrassi  ,  ariel  didn’t  find  herself  shaking  in  her  boots  like  most  people  at  their  encounters.  it  was  pure  entertainment.  “  being  that  we  aren’t  in  the  50s  ,  my  goal  in  life  is  not  to  just  become  a  mother.  i’m  sure  that’s  probably  what  you  were  conditioned  to  work  towards  ,  but  my  goals  &  aspirations  do  not  have  children  involved.  so  ,  you  can  do  all  the  learning  for  the  both  of  us.  ”

it was clear that the other girl had no clue on who heather was or what desires she truly had.  these assumptions made her laugh instead. “ariel you make me so sad.” she gave an insincere pout. “it’s just hysterical to think you know anything about me. i suggest you run along and go before you make a bigger fool out of yourself.” she turned away from her to pick up her coffee and to take a sip thinking the girl would get a clue.

“wow i think these teachers are out to get us sometimes i swear. but bright side is when he fails he’ll have to redo it.” rocking the baby some more it finally started to calm down. as much as adam likes babies he was glad for the fussing to stop. “sounds like a plan to me. you know i think she might lowkey like it she even came up with the name.” he never thought he’d see the day his cold ex could thaw off a little. “good then tomorrow it can just be us and some very much needed alone time.” uses his free hand he takes hers giving her hand a small kiss before interlocking their fingers. “what should do first?”

“i think what’s keeping me sane is reminding myself that this will be all over soon. this won’t matter so much in a few months anyway.” that brought relief to her knowing that she could go out and do what she wanted. she craved that indepence. “oh yeah? what’s the poor baby’s name?” she raised a brow, curious on what it could possibly be. heather smiled at his gesture, relaxing her hand with his comfortably. “i feel like a drive far away would be pretty nice. i guess just a change of scenery.” she shrugged. it wasn’t like she had a thing in mind exactly, except that she wanted just some time with adam alone. there just seemed to be a lot getting in the way recently.

she knew realistically that none of heather’s chagrin was directed her way, but that didn’t stop her from taking a moment to hide behind her own crafted drink, excusing the silence with a long pull of caffeine. “very Ravine of you,” she snorted, shooting a mock sympathetic glance her way. “kind of, i guess. miles has been… doing more than me, at least at first. i got carried away with other stuff but it’s going okay now. he definitely shook her once, but i’m hoping with my genes she’ll still be smart if he mashed a little brain.”

surprisingly to heather, she just rolled her eyes with a small laugh following soon after. “there’s nothing Ravine about me.” she picked up her drink to take a sip once the baby seemed to calm down. “sounds just about like every other man on this planet.” she didn’t feel as helpless like before hearing about her own struggles with the assignment. “it could be worse. the father could have been peter stone and we all know the kind of douchebag that he is.”

adam could see her starting to relax a little more glad to know he could help some. honestly he was just glad to be able to have some time with her even if it has to be in a crowded place with a crying robot baby. “right? i tried to switch  so i would’ve have to be with ariel but no luck. what happened with yours?” kissing her back he smiles before shrugging. “looks like you can’t.” reaching over he takes the baby, rocking it in his arms. “i like the way you think babe. a day break to just chill and hang out sounds perfect. think we can get away with tomorrow or should we push it back.”

heather shook her head lightly just thinking of the stoner she got stuck with, “he’s basically a dead-beat dad. i got partnered up with a guy who just never shows up so there goes my luck.” she explained with a shrug. it was probably better that way, due to the outburst she would have done to the guy if he was there. “we could probably do tomorrow. you can drop off your baby with ariel. i’m sure she will love that.” there was a bit of a devilish grin as she spoke. “i can find someone to help me out so we’ll be free of any sort of responsibility.”

𝒂𝒕  𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕  𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒍  was  completely  over  this  project.  the  fact  that  she  had  no  knowledge  of  how  to  take  care  of  a  child  was  one  thing  ,  but  the  fact  that  she  just  so  happened  to  be  partnered  with  her  ex  was  another.  she  was  completely  convinced  that  armstrong  was  conspiring  against  her  with  the  way  the  pairings  were  given  out.  as  the  days  went  on  ,  she  was  slowly  enjoying  the project.  well  ,  more  so  enjoying  dressing  up  her  baby  in  designer  baby  clothes.  any  excuse  to  go  shopping  was  a  positive  to  ariel.  the  crying  was  bearable  since  she  decided  to  use  the  maid  as  a  nanny  when  it  was  her  turn  to  watch  the  baby  at  home  on  most  occasions.  walking  into  the  dot  with  baby  gaultier  that  was  wearing  a  matching  ensemble  to  her  own  on  her  hip  ,  ariel  couldn’t  help  but  hear  a  familiar  voice  &  immediately  roll  her  eyes.  god  ,  when  was  she  ever  going  to  bump  into  someone  that  she  actually  liked  outside  of  school  ?  “  i  guess  armstrong  really  is  preparing  some  people  for  their  inevitable  futures  ,  huh  ?  ”

heather knew of ariel already and that the two just never got along. she was used to having more enemies than friends anyway. it seemed to be fitting that ariel would be another annoyance added to her already ongoing problem. she was unamused with her comment that seemed to lack any type of originality. cradling her baby that was now quieting down, she looked up to ariel with an eyebrow raised. “i guess so. some people might need all the help they can get. let’s hope you learn a thing or two from this.”

to say adam needed a coffee pick-me-up is an understatement. he already wasn’t getting the best sleep before but dealing with the baby project definitely didn’t help at all. after making his partner take her turn with the baby he finally made it to the dot. seeing how crowed it was almost made him leave till he heard his girlfriends voice looking over at her. “yeah i know what you mean, my partner sucks too.” he said before joining her at the table. “consider me here to help. why don’t i take care of the baby while you finish that coffee? i’m off baby duty for once anyway.”

heather immediately dropped her shoulders upon seeing adam walk his way towards her. this project became a nuisance, always getting in the way now with the time they both needed to put in separately. “it must be a curse with who we got stuck with.” she placed a quick kiss on his lips as he sat next to her. “now how can i resist an offer like that?” she sighed realizing how much she had missed spending time with him. “i think we’re going to need some time to ourselves soon, away from these robot babies. i’m sure we can ditch them for like a day and just hang out.”

Grabbing herself a cup of coffee to go, Fiona held the handle of her own robot baby’s little carseat thing as she passed by Heather’s table. She stopped as she heard the girl yell out in exasperation as her little bundle of joy sat screaming in her arms. She gave her a look of sympathy, “New motherhood can be so tough.” Fiona sat little Bradford down on an empty chair to give her arm a rest. “Especially with an absent co-parent, I imagine.” Of course, she had Jane; and even though the two girls didn’t get along, Fiona had to admit the other was, at the very least, a dependable partner.

heather looked up to hear a familiar voice seeing herself with the baby who seemed to be working with her. she couldn’t help but laugh softly at the comment. “i can see that now being left with all this responsibility.” it wasn’t ideal for her as she felt suddenly overwhelmed. there was only so much she could take between her family, school, and her job. “if i knew it would have turned out this way i would have tried to find a way to choose my own partner. at least someone who wouldn’t ditch me halfway.” although that option was a little too late for her. “i’m assuming you’ve been spoiling this fake baby of yours?”

heather was now in her personal hell seeing paige michalchuk walk in invading her own space. her guard was up as she smiled so sweetly towards the blonde. “i don’t think i need some sweaty old man to teach me about a baby that i’m not going to have anytime soon.” she quickly responded, her eyes digging into the girl’s. “how’s that ltitle spawn of the devil doing?”

Holly J had just clocked out of her shift, where little baby Sinclair-Mason had been chillin under the counter for four hours. She scooped her up and was on her way out the door when she spotted her sister, complaining out loud to no one. “You think you have it bad? Try raising a baby with your boss,” she quipped, taking a seat at Heather’s table and placing the little plastic baby next to her “cousin”. “Think you’ll pass the assignment?” 

heather watched as her sister walked towards her with her own baby for the assignment. it was definitely a strange feeling sitting there as they talked about them as if they were real. “i thought you were smart enough to know that mixture never works.” she joked with a small smirk on her face. “i’m pretty sure i have to. i’m not going to let some fake baby ruin it for me. am i to assume that assignment is going great for you and spinner?”

the project circulating the school was annoying for a plethora of reasons, one being how much of it esme knew she’d brushed off. she did feel bad about sticking miles with so much of the work early on, but she was trying to make up for it by stepping up now. heather’s complaints still stung though. “y-yeah, i feel like most people kind of got screwed over. who did you get put with?”

“that’s a bit of an understatement.” she huffed, looking away from the baby and back to esme. “it was this guy named brandon or whatever. he’s practically disappeared so here we are.” if she had it her way she wouldn’t be so consumed with this project, but it was last her semester. she needed the perfect grades. “i’m sure yours must be going differently?”

the dot was overcrowded and just filled with so much conversations going on around her. she just wanted to enjoy some time to herself with the hot latte she had ordered. it all stopped once she had to tend to her assignment who was craving attention. “this is torture.” she put her cup down as she held the baby in her arms. “my partner for this project has basically been nonexistent. i’m not even pregnant and here i am a single mom.” she was talking out loud at this point adding to the noise.

BIO:

there’s many stories that goes around the halls of degrassi such as she being the devil itself or how she is so cruel to anyone she meets. underneath it all she’s just a girl with a family she cares about and a little sister who she will make sure gets the best of the best. she’s taught her all of her tricks because she believes in order to get ahead in this world you need to be cruel. especially if you’re a woman in this world. she prides herself on being able to get what she wants which has become effortless now. a lot of things in her life has come easy for her. she doesn’t need to study profusely as she easily understands the material and ends up with good grades. she excels at about any extracurricular she’s part of and most of the time she’s joined some teams she had no interest in. one of them being power squad only because she knew she could easily take over, which she did, but she stepped away because she hated cheerleading.

heather doesn’t know how to emotionally be there for someone, she just can’t register how to do it without feeling out of place. she desperately wants to say the right thing to her sister and show her that she does care for her since she senses whatever struggles she might going through. she wishes she could just tell her that she loves her and to just hold her like when they were little. she’s not sure on when their dynamic switched a bit but she will always be looking out for holly j.

unfortunately they have just lost all their money so their comfortable lifestyle has quickly changed. heather is worried with how she’s going to manage to even have enough for college. as of right now she’s working at the mall at a store. she hates it and even more that she would have to encounter some people from school.

about last year as heather was searching for some important documents in her parents closet, she found a box that looked suspiciously hidden away. she discovered holly j was adopted and confronted her mom. she was told that she can’t say anything and now she feels guilty with this secret. she’s unsure on how to even proceed, she’s stuck in a hard place.

has been dating adam since january, well officially on new years eve cause funsies. currently she’s a bit worried for him cause of some past trauma that’s been coming up again. it seems like it could be more than she could handle so she might be seeking out the help of his mom soon. 

WANTED CONNECTION -  on/off boyfriend during her sophomore/junior year. lil toxic behavior cause let’s be real messy and was like her first love. she wasn’t exactly the greatest girlfriend as she would also purposely push his buttons.

where do you see yourself in a year?

in school and in a dorm room, hopefully with a decent roommate. a better job would be ideal with better pay. i’d also like to travel more so i’d want to plan more trips.
