Magic Spells (self portrait) -2024

this is my spirit guide, who is almost like a tulpa but he lives inside of my head. His name is Dweezil and he possesses my body and mind as I create, speaking in a voice that isn't my own. He is an archangel, and he holds my scars on his body.

My years-long hyper fixation is christianity and various systems of belief, and that has shown up on his form.

Symbology manifested onto my body: Rib stolen as from Adam, Wound of Longinus, Cross on my abdomen reaching rib to rib and sternum to vagina.

I would like to have his stigmata, although that's a lot to hope for. maybe Scarification on my palms then, when I have to money.

Hated the last project because it wasn’t thematic enough. Here’s the new one. I call it childhood nightmare.

I converted the drawing into a PDF, split it up into multiple pages and taped them together. Then i took the image and traced it onto my fabric with a makeshift lightbox (flashlight under Tupperware).

Printed it far too small, but here’s the process.

Draw, print, trace as shown below.

The colors are loosely laid out in the drawing like so.

The fabric shown is just a test to see if i can actually quilt/embroider it. I’ll keep you all updated.
