since you love being asked about your headcanons, what are your favorite Shutter Island headcanons that you have?

(side question: do you have any headcanons about Bridget Kearns?)

I have a huge headcanon that after the first "roleplay"/trying to "cure" Andrew it actually worked for a little while

everybody was happy, obviously it was a huge success for Cowley and Lester but as we know Andrew regressed once again AND

smirks mischievously rubbing my hands like a fly

They were all obviously kind of disappointed but it hit Lester very badly like he was actually kind of mmmmwhatstheword devastated? maybe

so when they decided to try "curing" him again, the whole staff was against it since they didn't want to go through it all again bc it's obviously exhausting

Cowley didn't want to put Lester through all that again, knowing that he and Andrew had a great bond already but Lester pushed a bit

He said he's able to do that again, that he believes it can work again

After it didn't work second time, Lester was crushed and quit (which is canon)

Smaller headcanons I have is Andrew and Bridget get along well, they gossip and kinda they're besties in a way

I headcanon Lester and Marino as besties and that there are rumors about them having a thing for each other BUT Marino is the only one who knows about Lester being gay (Cowley SUSPECTS but he thinks it's not his business so he doesn't really care)

And also a headcanon that is popular along Lester/Andrew fics AND I LOOOOVE IT

Andrew is OBSESSED with Lester's hands, subconcious or not

It's in the book somehowhere along the lines that he said "I should have known he wasn't a marshall by his hands" or something like that

I just love that trope

And it's kind of canon but Lester writes about Andrew/Teddy in his journals and I like to think he writes about Andrew/Teddy as two separate persons

One more headcanon that is quite canon is that Lester when he gets old suffers from dementia (my poor baby) but he never forgot Andrew

As for Bridget I dunno I haven't got this much into her character but she's a diva, obviously

I sort of headcanon her a very kind individual, she gets along with the staff and other patients well when she's not going through any episodes obviously

Also a headcanon for Cowley I like to think he knows Andrew and Lester have something unprofessional going on but he lets it slides slightly because he feels bad for Lester

He sees that Lester cares very much for the patient and just pities him in a way

Also a slight headcanon that during the "roleplay" Andrew had some moments of clarity, brief ones

He'd slip and call Lester "doctor" instead of "partner" or "chuck" without realizing

Lester always hold his breath and pretends he doesn't heard that

I like to think Lester gossips with the female staff during breaks especially with that one nurse which the name of i forgot..... the pretty one

Sry if you're not still into Shutter Island but how do you feel about the idea of Dr Cawley and Dr Sheehan having a sort of a father-son or mentor-student dynamic?

im pretty much always into shutter island, it always lives rent free in my heart

as for the question? absolutely. I love to see father/son dynamics and I think those two absolutely have some of it going on.

I like to think they didn't get along at first (or at least weren't much besides coworkers) but bonded over trying to "fix" Andrew.

I could go on and on about their possible dynamic but don't want to yap
