i labh boxing (4 times) and she does not need to say it the 5th time. reason behind her entering in this sport. 5 times world champion...does she need a better reason. a rice growing farmers girl had this audacity and will power to fight against all odds and become a true winner.

The movie starts with curfew in manipur with our part time hero accompanying his pregnant wife (PC) to hospital. hold on as the movie rewinds us to the journey of the name MC Mary Kom well known to this world. she is a street fighter by nature. she has the aggression, the determination which her coach sees in her ultimately leading her to fight her own way and giving India a spirited boxer and human being.

Though u cannot compare this with Bhaag milka Bhaag, both are totally on different league. though i am not a big fan of Priyanka chopra. few movies of her i liked are Aitraaz, Fashion and Barfi. since this was a biopic, the reason was good enough to invest 2hrs and 4 mins. Omung kumar for his debut in direction is commendable. the execution could have been a tad better but hats off nonetheless. 

The four corners of the boxing ring have been captured immaculately. The fights seem to be real. i assume that real life trained boxers have been used. May be i am wrong but this i what i felt. songs are a big disappointed except for the ziddi track which starts her journey.

My view on this is a must watch and be proud within that you are an Indian.

The national anthem plays 5 mins before the end credits, when she wins her last match. you actually feel a sense of pride.

August 27, 2013 5:15 AM Review of Madras Cafe High points - the camera work, skillfull editing, direction, concept, storyline and the support cast. Low points - if i need to mention any it has to be nargis fakri who does not go so well vid d character portrayed. Something is definately a miss here. The movie is too pacy in the first 30 mins that you sometimes get lost in d chase. 4yrs is what it took for the director shoojit sircar to come up with a political thriller which deals with srilankan tamil civil war and the conspiracy involved behind assasination of our India's PM. This is madras cafe for you..Definately not a fiction but real. The story is a flashback with john narating the story to a priest. He has definately underplayed here. John the army officer is sent to stop anna the man behind creating the LTF force eventually falling in his own trap. Anna is the man between peace and our PM. The movie evolves around and takes you to bangkok, singapore and srilanka where the conspiracy is build up. The story becomes more intense and involving when the agonising truth follows the path to 2 hrs 10 min thriller.. End becomes predictable as you come to know the baseline. Forgot to mention bala (drunken superior to john) who is commendable as well.Must watch and njoy the cinematic experience recomended for sensible viewers who want to see meaningful cinema.

But there is a big difference between yester years and recent day. Now getting late for friends meet though its shravan for me.

August 15, 2013 The journey from being a sperm to a man has always been fascinating. Some things in life dont change. whatever you do, however you do, its always a hinderance between you and your future. Fortunate enough even though that i have not achieved even 20% of what i wanted to, i had always had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful, cross headed, pathetic, irresistible people. But the moments of truth always found me in a situation wherein i thought i always had a connect with the ones i met during my journey however when i see back i knew nothing, a big zero is what i need to start with. Things are and will not be smooth everytime. Everyone has their own highs and lows and everyone goes throught that phase. Its how you overcome it and begin a new journey altogether. some things in life do not come easy to everyone.
