Chapter 6
As she responded, King Snape’s eyes narrowed subtly, a sign of his growing suspicion. He hadn’t expected or imagined such a situation. “And what made you think that was the case?” Although his voice remained cool and composed, there was a subtle hint of menace lurking beneath the surface.
Lily’s gaze flickered to Lucius, who observed them intently. She wrote, “In my dream, Lucius was plotting with the enemies of each realm. The Realm of Void.”
Snape’s face momentarily betrayed surprise as she mentioned the Realm of Void. “Is that so?” As he mused, his eyes regained their hardened expression. “And did you confront him about these… allegations?”
As she shook her head, his voice turned icy and unwavering. “Why not?” he asked, leaning forward. “Was it because you were afraid of what he might do to you?”
With a slight shake of her head, Lily wrote, “I just had these unsettling dreams tonight.”
“I see. Well, I appreciate the information you’ve provided. There is a lot of work that needs our attention.” He stood up, his gaze locked on Lily. “You’re free to go back to your chambers.”
Lily looked up at him with a warm smile, her arms instinctively encircling his waist before she departed from the study. Severus observed the woman’s graceful departure from his study, a subtle smile tugging at the edges of his mouth.
Stepping forward, Lucius’s face twisted into a disapproving expression. “My lord, you’re getting emotionally close to this woman,” he said, a growl in his voice.
Anger flashed in Snape’s eyes as he locked gazes with Lucius. “And what business is it of yours?” As he turned away, his voice dripped with bitterness, his thoughts consumed by the information Lily had shared. Thoughts of the enigmatic Realm of Void consumed Severus’s mind as he contemplated the potential involvement of Lucius, should Lily’s accusations prove true.
Snape’s words took aback Lucius, and his eyes blinked in surprise. “My lord, I must remind you of the task at hand. We can still use her to take over the Spring Realm.”
“I am well aware of our aim, Lucius,” he snapped back, his frustration evident in his tone. “However, do not question my methods or emotional boundaries.” He paused for a moment, taking a deep breath to calm his rising anger, before declaring, “She is merely a pawn in our game.”
Lucius nodded, his eyes filled with understanding. “I see. Well played, my lord. She seems to trust you.”
“Trust?” A mischievous glint sparkled in the king’s eyes as a low chuckle slipped from his lips. “She doesn’t trust me, Lucius. She’s simply afraid of me. And that,” he said, his eyes glinting with a sinister satisfaction, “is how I like it.”
“Then if she doesn’t trust you, my lord,” Lucius asked, “why did she embrace you?”
“Because she doesn’t have a choice,” Snape said, his voice dripping with darkness. “She’s my captive, and I can do as I please with her.” A cruel smile curled the corner of his lips. “But dear not, dear Lucius…”
“My lord, you appeared taken aback when she embraced you,” Lucius observed, carefully studying Snape’s reaction while keeping his hands clasped behind his back.
“To be honest, I wasn’t surprised at all,” he admitted, his tone filled with indifference. “I was simply intrigued. Her fear and desperation can be quite… arousing. But she’ll learn to loathe me before long enough. And then, we’ll see who she truly trusts,” Snape said, staring into the fireplace.
“Hmm,” Lucius hummed skeptically, his eyebrows furrowing slightly, but he decided not to probe any further. “In other news, should we guard her against the schemes of her wicked twin?”
A sly grin slowly formed on Snape’s face, hinting at his hidden agenda. “We’ll see,” he said, his voice trailing off as if unsure of what the future held. “Let’s prioritize utilizing her to our advantage at the moment.”
Lucius nodded respectfully, his head dipping slightly into a small bow. “We shall see what tomorrow holds,” he muttered, his tone filled with uncertainty. “I am retiring for the night, my lord,” he said, walking out of the room.
“Sleep well,” said Severus, his voice carrying an ominous undertone that sent shivers down the spine of even the most hardened courtier. As he watched Lucius depart, he allowed himself a moment of satisfaction… the taste of power was intoxicating.
His mind wandered to Lily. She was in danger from her twin, who wished her dead so he could have the throne of the Spring Realm. Severus paced his study, his mind constantly on the woman. He couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to her than met the eye… something dangerous. He shook his head, trying to get rid of thoughts of the way she would embrace him. It did, indeed, surprise him, but he didn’t want to admit that to Lucius.
The next morning, Lily’s footsteps echoed through the icy halls of the castle. She stood in awe, marveling at the grandeur of the library before her. Its towering shelves stretched towards the heavens, lined with an endless array of books. The vast collection seemed to hold the wisdom of the ages, waiting to be discovered. The air was tinged with the scent of paper and ink, enticing her to step inside and explore the literary treasures within. She could almost hear the whispers of stories yet untold, beckoning her to immerse herself in their worlds. With a sense of anticipation, she took a deep breath and crossed the threshold, ready to embark on a journey through the pages of countless books.
Severus stood at the doorway, his eyes fixated on her, as if he couldn’t look away. In his domain, Lily’s presence stirred a sense of intrigue and curiosity. His gaze never wavered as he closely monitored her every move, captivated by the gracefulness of her slender fingers gliding over the books’ covers. The thought of those fingers tracing his features consumed his mind, and he couldn’t help but envision the sensation on his skin.
“What a curious creature you are, Lily. Seeking knowledge in a place so cold and unwelcoming.” His voice was cold and calculated, yet there was a hint of curiosity.
When her gaze met his, Severus felt a warmth in his chest, as if a fire had been ignited inside him, spreading through his veins. With a slight cough, he cleared his throat, preparing to speak. “What are you looking for?” Softly, his voice carried through the air, now gentle and tender. He found it odd that he was being so accommodating, but there was something about her that made him feel like she was unlike anyone he had ever met.
She gestured with her hands, mimicking the act of opening a book. Curiosity sparked in Severus’ eyes as he tilted his head. “A tale of bravery and sacrifice? You seek the stories of those who have given all for the greater good?” he asked, stepping closer, his eyes studying her face intently. “Tell me, Lily,” he whispered, his voice now filled with an unexpected warmth. “What is it about these stories that captive you so?”
With a piercing gaze, he studied the intricate blend of emerald and brown in her eyes, as if hoping to decipher the untold stories they had held. Her touch lingered on his chest, her other hand clutching a book that screamed romance from its cover.
“A romantic at heart, hiding behind the tales of love and devotion.” His icy demeanor softened as he considered her response. “Then perhaps,” he began, his voice lowering into a seductive whisper, “I can weave a tale of my own for you, Lily. One where you are the heroine, and I am your hero. A story of love and desire that knows no bounds.” His voice was soft yet commanding, the charisma he possessed undeniable even in this chilly setting.
Lily smiled at him, her expression fading as she caught sight of Lucius standing in the doorway. Curious, Severus directed his eyes in the same direction as her gaze. “Lucius… what a pleasant surprise. I didn’t expect to see you here today.” His voice was calm and almost playful, yet there was an undercurrent of control.
Stepping into the library, Lucius raised an eyebrow, intrigued by what he saw. “I am here by your side every day, my lord. I am your advisor, after all.”
“Yes, of course you are, Lucius. But it seems you have interrupted something quite… interesting.” He placed a hand on Lily’s shoulder, a possessive gesture that spoke volumes about his intentions. “Would you excuse us for a moment, Lucius?”
The expression on Lucius’s face was so intense that Lily couldn’t bear to meet his gaze, causing her to avert her eyes and shift to the side. She found solace in examining the books on the nearby shelves. With Lucius gone from sight, King Severus leaned closer to Lily, his breath sending shivers down her spine. “You know, I find your defiance quite… arousing,” he whispered softly in her ear.
As she shivered, she instinctively turned her head to look up at him. She found a quill and paper and wrote, “Something is wrong with Lucius. Did you see the way he looked at me?”
“Indeed, I did,” he replied, his gaze hardening slightly. “But that doesn’t concern me at the moment. Now, about your little defiance. It seems you’ve caught my attention and perhaps I should keep you as a pet.”
Her facial expression shifted, becoming more solemn. There was a deep, unsettling unease that consumed her, showing that something was truly bothering her. Severus raised an eyebrow, sensing the shift in her demeanor. “Something on your mind?” He asked softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
As she scribbled on paper, her frustration and fear were evident in her rushed handwriting, revealing her belief that Lucius would soon betray him. Snape’s eyes widened. His mind flooded with the vivid memory of what she had confided in him the previous night in his study. Doubt overwhelmed him as he grappled with the question of her intentions - was she telling the truth or trying to manipulate him against his trusted advisor? There was nothing pleasant about the Realm of Void.
Snape’s piercing gaze locked onto her, as if he were trying to uncover any trace of falsehood. There was no trace of deception on her face, clarifying that she was not lying. The weight of her words landed on him like a physical blow, causing his heart to race in his chest. Placing her hands on his cheeks, Lily guided his eyes to meet hers, searching for a connection. Her eyes, reflecting the vibrant colors of the spring realm, locked onto his face in search of his belief.
His gaze lingered on her, his heart pounding with a swirling mix of fear and anger. The sense of betrayal hanging in the air made him acutely aware of the need to be cautious at every turn. However, he couldn’t deny the electrifying sensation that washed over him whenever their gaze met.
Just as she was about to bring her hands down, he gently grasped them, preventing her from doing so. “No, don’t go just yet. Stay here with me,” he whispered, his voice husky and vulnerable, the once forceful tone replaced by a touch of desperation.
Her eyes locked onto his, and she tilted her head to the side as she studied his face. Lily’s hands dropped to her sides, only to find their way back around his waist, seeking the comforting embrace of his strong arms and the reassuring thump of his heartbeat against her ear.
As he looked down at her, Severus could feel his heart pounding in his chest and he wondered if she could hear it. As he held her close, he could feel the gentle warmth emanating from her body against his chest, bringing him a sense of comfort. Taking a deep breath, he attempted to regain his composure.

Chapter 5
As she walked away, Severus couldn’t help but be enthralled by the elegance of her stride, which only heightened her allure. Whenever she was near, he experienced a conflicting blend of curiosity, irritation, and an inexplicable magnetism towards her. Her unexpected kiss left him blinking in surprise, a tingle lingering on his nose. Despite his efforts to resist, King Severus finds himself irresistibly attracted to Lily with each passing day. Despite his efforts to hide his vulnerability, he finds himself captivated by her charm.
The next day, the chill in the air was more pronounced than usual, but Lily braved the cold to feed the rare ice deer in the garden. In his throne room, Snape’s pacing filled the air, his eyes locked in an intense gaze as he pondered. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get the image of the Spring princess out of his head. Her presence in his desolate kingdom was like a splash of color, bringing life and brightness to the surroundings.
Just then, Lucius entered the throne room, his footsteps echoing against the marble floors. “My lord, do you know the whereabouts of the girl?” he inquired, his voice filled with concern.
His attention shifted from the window, and Severus found himself locking eyes with Lucius. “She is in the garden.”
“Has she uttered a single word yet?” Lucius asked, his eyebrows furrowing in interest.
“No, she hasn’t,” Severus replied in a stern tone. He turned his attention back to the window, feeling a gentle breeze coming through the open pane, beckoning him to join her in the garden. “She’s unable to speak. Lily is under a curse.”
A look of surprise washed over Lucius’s face as his eyes grew wide. “A curse, my lord? Who has cursed her and why?”
Facing him once more, Severus’ face became a stoic mask of anger, barely concealing his true emotions. “I’m not sure, Lucius.”
“I advise in finding out, my lord. There must be a reason someone wanted her quiet,” Lucius said, his tone filled with concern, his hands tightly folded in front of him.
Severus’ eyes met Lucius’, icy and filled with careful calculation. “You’re right. We’ll find out who cursed her and why. But until then, keep an eye on her.” He paused, his voice dropping to a low growl.
With a nod, Lucius turned and strode away, his face contorted into a menacing and icy glare. With Lucius gone, Severus returned to the window, the weight of the mysterious curse on Lily’s tongue lingering in his thoughts. The feeling lingered within him, insisting that there was a hidden layer to the intrusion into his winter realm.
In the garden, Lily sat comfortably on a bench. Her gaze swept across the frozen terrain, taking in the vast expanse of the icy landscape and the pristine white blanket that covered the ground. King Severus stood by the window, his eyes fixed on the scene outside, a mixture of severity and fascination clear in his expression. Her situation didn’t diminish the captivating allure she possessed, and he couldn’t deny its pull.
“Lily,” his voice resounded through the stillness of the halls, creating an eerie atmosphere. “You might as well come inside.”
She looked up at the window and saw him standing there. As Lily makes her way to the door and enters the castle, she can’t help but shiver from the cold. Snape briskly crossed the room, observing her shivering form, which momentarily softened his typically frigid disposition.
“Here,” he said, handing her a thick, warm cloak, the luxurious ermine fur adding an elegant touch. “Put this on.”
Lily wrapped the cloak around her small frame, feeling its warmth and protection, and smiled at him. With a slight rise on her toes, she placed a delicate kiss on his cheek to show her appreciation. Severus’ eyes widened slightly, his surprise clear at the unexpected gesture of affection, but he remained steadfast, not pulling away. Instead, he leaned into it slightly, sensing his cold exterior briefly thawing under her touch yet again.
“You’re cold,” he said, his composure slowly returning. “Let me see if I can do something about that. Please, sit. I can’t break the curse that’s keeping you from speaking, but I can at least give you the power to express yourself in other ways. With this potion,” he said, holding out a small vial filled with a clear liquid. “You can communicate through actions and touch.”
With a tilt of her head, she listened intently and nodded in understanding as he continued speaking. “It’s not ideal, but it’s better than nothing,” he acknowledged, handing her the vial. “Drink this under the light of the full moon, and the effects will last until the next full moon rises.”
Their fingers brush lightly as Lily nods again, taking the vial with a delicate touch. As he observed her, Severus felt a shiver travel down his spine when she touched him, yet he remained stoic, determined not to display any hint of weakness.
“Now,” he said, his eyes darting back to her hands clutching the vial, “let’s hope you understand the magnitude of the power this potion holds.”
Rising to her feet, she closed the distance between them with a few purposeful strides. Gently, she slid her arms around his waist, finding comfort as she rested her head on his chest. Her touch had a way of melting away Severus’ cold demeanor, causing him to stiffen in response. Looking down at her, he couldn’t help but feel his heart race as his gaze softened.
“You… you understand the cost of this potion, don’t you?” He asked, his voice slightly rough from clearing his throat. While nodding, she maintained her embrace, refusing to let go of him. “The cost is significant, Lily. I implore you to use this power wisely, as it will affect both of us. I have zero tolerance for any nonsense or foolish behavior from you. Do we have an understanding?”
Lily nodded, her lips curling into a slight smile. Snape reflexes back on what his maid had said about Lily being harmless, realizing that he had underestimated her. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of surprise at just how harmless she appeared, with her gentle smile and soft-spoken manner. His eyes narrowed as he focused on studying her, trying to decipher her intentions.
“Very well, Lily,” he said, his voice keeping its chill but becoming slightly less severe.
With her head on his chest once more, he found himself unable to look away, his gaze growing softer with each passing moment. “Do you know why I did this for you, Lily? Because you’re harmless,” he said, his voice gruff. “And I needed a break from the cold, unforgiving winter.” He turned his head away, staring out into the vast expanse of his icy kingdom.
“Now, don’t go getting any ideas,” he warned. “You are here to serve me, and that’s all.” His eyes flickered back to her, dark and brooding. “I won’t tolerate any disobedience from you.”
With her hands folded gracefully, she stood there and nodded in agreement. His eyes, once warm and inviting, now turned cold and distant as he averted his gaze towards his icy kingdom. “Now, go and rest,” he said, his voice once again harsh, but less so than before. “We have a lot to talk about tomorrow,” he said, his voice filled with anticipation.
As Lily nodded, she closed the distance between them, pressing her lips gently against his cheek before retreating to her chambers. He stood there for a moment, his heart pounding and his mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. He wanted to push her away, to maintain the distance between them, but he couldn’t deny the allure she held for him.
At that moment, Lucius emerged, his face filled with concern. “What is it, Lucius?” Severus asked, his gaze fixed on the flickering flames in the fireplace. The woman from the Spring realm still consumed his thoughts, leaving his mind preoccupied.
“I came across someone from the Spring realm at the border, my lord,” Lucius said grimly. “Lily is in danger.”
As Severus turned from the fireplace, his eyes filled with a steely resolve. “I see. In what way is she in danger?”
“It appears her twin brother wants her dead, my lord.” With a worried look on his face, Lucius shared the news that she was the first twin born and next in line for the throne, which the prince coveted.
“Bring her to me,” he growled, his menacing gaze piercing through the room. As he paced around the room, his mind raced with thoughts on how to leverage this situation to his advantage.
Lucius motioned for a guard to bring Lily to the king, and as she walked in, her eyes were heavy with sleep.
“You look tired, Lily. What’s wrong?” When he spoke, his voice lacked any warmth or emotion, leaving her feeling unsettled. His heart raced with anticipation of her response, yet he remained resolute in maintaining the distance between them.
Confused, she rubbed her eyes and looked back and forth between him and Lucius.
“I asked if there was anything wrong,” he repeated, his tone flat and unfeeling.
Lily walked over to a desk and wrote, “I had a terrible dream…”
Narrowing his eyes, King Severus Snape regarded her response with suspicion. There was no doubt that she was keeping a secret, but he had no patience for playing games. He extended his arm, indicating the chair next to him. “Sit down, Lily.” His voice was commanding yet soft, almost seductive.
From the corner of the room, Lucius kept a vigilant eye on her as she sat. Taking a seat, Snape’s eyes remained unwaveringly focused on her. “So, tell me what happened in your dream,” he said, his voice cold and emotionless, but there was an undercurrent of anticipation in his tone.
As Lily shifted her gaze, she noticed Lucius still lingering in the corner, before refocusing her attention on the king. “I asked you to tell me about you dream.” He repeated, his voice slicing through the air like icy daggers. He leaned back in his chair, his gaze never leaving hers.
Lily sighed and wrote, “It had something to do with Lucius betraying you…”

Chapter 4
His maid nodded, her footsteps echoing closely behind him. With a swift motion, she tossed aside the thick blanket that covered the expansive bed in the king’s chambers. “Place her here, my lord. We must warm her immediately.”
His face grew stern as he considered the idea of letting her go, even if it meant keeping her warm. Taking a deep breath, he carefully positioned her on the bed, sensing the quiver of her body as he touched her. In the frosty air, Lily exhaled, her breath materializing briefly before disappearing. The frost slowly crept up her neck, sending a shiver down her spine. In a hurry, the maid draped a blanket over her and began rubbing her arms, hoping to generate warmth.
“My lord, this isn’t working fast enough,” she said in a panic.
The sight of the maid working frantically to warm Lily up consumed Severus’ attention, his mind racing with solutions to lend a hand. Whispers about her abilities in the Spring realm had reached his ears, promising potential usefulness.
“My lord,” the maid said, snapping him out of his thoughts. “She needs extra body heat.”
“I’ll provide it,” he said, his voice cold and commanding. “Help me bring her closer to me.”
Settling into the bed, Snape felt the comforting embrace of the covers as the maid carefully aided him in drawing her nearer. “I’ll get more blankets,” she said before leaving the room.
The maid departed, leaving Severus and Lily alone. In the room’s quiet, he drew her nearer, their bodies now melded together beneath the weight of the thick blankets. As he felt her shivering subside against his chilled form, his icy demeanor softened slightly. As his gaze traveled over her face, he couldn’t help but be captivated by the faint freckles that graced her cheeks. Despite his rough demeanor, Severus couldn’t help but be captivated by the little things about Lily. Even in her current state of discomfort, her beauty remained striking, captivating everyone who saw her. He tried to suppress the warmth that welled up inside him, determined to keep his icy facade intact.
Severus watched as the frost slowly disappeared. Lily’s breathing grew more pronounced, yet she remained in a state of unconsciousness.
“Stay with me, Lily,” he murmured, his voice softening as he gently stroked her cheek. An unfamiliar warmth spread through his chest, tingling and pulsating with a sensation he couldn’t quite put into words.
Severus’ heart skipped a beat as he heard a small, unfamiliar sound coming from her for the first time. He leaned closer, his lips grazing her ear. “That’s it, Lily. Stay with me.”
Her eyes gradually opened, revealing a gaze that was a mixture of light brown with a touch of green, fixated on him. “Lily,” he breathed, his voice barely above a whisper. “Can you hear me?”
Her eyelids fluttered as she blinked, feeling a chill run down her spine, causing her to huddle closer to him in search of warmth. Lily buried her face in his chest, feeling the warmth of his embrace and the softness of his shirt against her cheek. Snape’s cold facade faltered as he sensed her trembling in his embrace. His heart raced, causing him to hesitate for a moment. “Yes, Lily,” he finally said, his voice strained. “I’m here.”
As she snuggled closer, Severus could feel the warmth of her small hand on his chest. As he observed the frost slowly dissipating around her, his heart quickened at the gentle touch of her hand against him. He stroked her cheek, his icy fingers ghosting over her skin. “Stay with me, Lily.”
The maid returned, her face lighting up with a smile as she took in the delightful scene before her. “Bless, she looks so much better.”
“Yes,” Severus agreed, his voice low, “she does.” His gaze flicked to the maid, irritation flashing in his eyes. “Leave us,” he commanded.
With a graceful bow, she exited the room, closing the door softly behind her, a radiant smile illuminating her face. Severus let out a sigh of relief and relaxed, resting his head against the soft headboard. When she coughed, his eyes quickly shifted towards her, filled with concern. He reached for a pitcher of water on the bedside table, the cool condensation trickling down his fingers as he poured some into a cup and handed it to her. “Drink this. It will help soothe your throat,” he said, his voice softening.
As Lily sat up, she could feel the chill of the frost dissipate, leaving her once again with her beautiful tan complexion. As she reached for the cup, her fingers accidentally grazed against his. Severus watched her closely, noticing how her complexion returned to normal with no signs of frost. Try as he might, he couldn’t suppress the sudden surge of curiosity he felt towards her. When their fingers brushed, a shiver traveled down his spine. “Lily,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Her gaze locked with his, and in that moment, Severus felt a peculiar sensation tugging at his heart. He waited for her to speak, his haughty gaze piercing through her like daggers. Despite his arrogance, there was an undeniable tension between them. Snape suddenly thought about something. Perhaps she could not speak at all.
“Tell me something,” he said, his eyes boring into hers, his voice low and commanding. Severus watched as she met his gaze, her silence unbroken. The way she held his stare made him feel uncomfortable. It was as if she could read his thoughts or see right through him. “Are you able to speak at all?”
Lily looked down at her cup, a sad look on her face as she shook her head. Severus narrowed his eyes, studying her expression closely. It seemed genuine enough, yet there was something about her he couldn’t quite place. His curiosity piqued, he leaned forward slightly. “The how do you communicate?”
Looking up at him, she made a motion with her hand, as if she were holding a pen and ready to write. Gesturing towards a parchment and quill, Severus ensured they were within her reach by setting them down on her lap. “Write,” he commanded, his voice hardened slightly. “If you cannot speak, then you’ll write. Understand?”
She nodded, taking the quill in her small hand and writing, “My name is Lily Evans. I’m a runaway princess from the Spring Realm. A curse was placed upon me to silence me.”
“I see,” he replied, his voice dripping with iciness. “And why exactly are you here in the Winter Realm?”
She wrote, “I got lost in my Realm and was chased by a large creature. I stumbled and when I woke up, I was in the Winter Realm. I searched for a way out, but one of your guards found me.”
Snape’s brow furrowed, deep in thought, as he carefully pondered over her words. It appeared as though she was an uninvited guest in his territory, seized by his guards. There was no motive for him to inflict more harm on her unless she proved to be dangerous.
She studied his face, then she wrote, “I’m not a spy, as you accused me of being. I am simply lost and I need to break my curse.”
“Hmm,” Severus murmured, his eyes locked onto hers, never wavering. Suddenly, he stood up from the edge of the bed, his tall figure looming over her as he paced around the room, lost in his thoughts. At long last, he ceased his movement and spun around to confront her directly. “Ill give you a second chance, Lily”
With a subtle nod and a delicate smile, she conveyed her approval to him. His eyes locked onto hers, his intense stare drawing her in as he leaned in closer. “But know this; if you try anything foolish, my patience will be short-lived. Do you understand?”
With another nod, she lowered her head slightly, indicating that she understood. Leaning down, Severus studied her face intently, his eyes moving from feature to feature. “Remember, I give you a chance for now. But do not cross me.” His expression was hard, his voice low and commanding.
As Snape looked into her eyes, he detected a renewed sense of spring, which left him with an odd feeling. He watched her intently, a nagging sense of vulnerability creeping over him. The intensity of the connection he felt with someone was something he hadn’t experienced in ages. As if in a trance, Severus reached out and delicately brushed his fingers against her cheek.
When she stood still, locking eyes with him, King Severus felt an irresistible desire to caress her velvety skin, running his chilled finger along her cheekbone. The sensation of her warm skin against his hand made his heart beat faster, creating a thrilling contrast that sent shivers down his spine.
Lily looked down at the parchment and wrote, “I haven’t eaten in two days…”
As Snape’s eyes narrowed, a tinge of astonishment flashed across his otherwise composed expression. “Two days?” He had expected her to be weak, but this… He hesitated for a moment before stepping back, considering her response. “Very well.”
When he said, “I’ll have food brought to you immediately,” his voice was cold, but there was a hint of kindness in his tone. “However,” he paused, his eyes boring into hers, “do not mistake my kindness for weakness.”
She nodded again, writing, “I’ve heard the stories of the Winter Realm king. I am familiar with your demeanor, my lord. And I wish to thank you kindly for your generosity.” With that, she stood, curtsies, then rose, leaving a gentle kiss on his cheek.
At her unexpected gesture, Severus’ eyes widened slightly, revealing a brief crack in his cold facade. As he stepped back, he couldn’t help but touch the spot where her lips had gently grazed his cheek. “Do not forget,” he warned, his voice low and threatening as he gained his composer, “that you are my guest and therefore under my protection. Crossing the line might not end as favorably.” His gaze hardened once more. “Now, let’s see about that food.”
With a courteous gesture, he stepped aside, granting her space to walk past him. As she walked away, Snape’s gaze lingered on her, a sense of helplessness washing over him. He hadn’t expected her to be so rebellious. Despite himself, he felt a curious fascination towards her. As Severus glanced back at her handwriting, he could almost hear the scratch of her quill against the parchment. While his mind drifted to the woman who had challenged him, he couldn’t ignore the faint scent of her perfume that filled the room as he looked over the papers. The scent was intoxicating, a tantalizing mixture of sweetness and spice that quickened his pulse.
The memory of her tender, appreciative kiss lingered in Severus’ mind. Admitting his surprise, his heart raced in his chest, overwhelmed by the intensity of it. “It’s only natural,” he told himself, trying to push down the unwanted feelings she’d stirred within him. Despite everything, he couldn’t rid himself of the desire to be close to her again.
His mind was a chaotic whirlwind, filled with thoughts of her. Despite his initial irritation, there was an undeniable intrigue about her - maybe it was the way she constantly pushed his boundaries. As Snape furrowed his brow, he couldn’t help but wonder how she could break her curse, the sound of his thoughts echoing in the silence. In his heart, all he desired was to be enchanted by the sound of her voice.
As he walked down the stone hallway, he could feel the coldness of the floor beneath his feet. The halls were filled with an eerie silence, broken only by the faint whispers of his shadowy past. The feeling that this woman from the Spring realm was going to cause trouble lingered in his mind, like an unsettling whisper in the wind.
Lily had made her way to the kitchen, where Snape’s most trusted maid was bustling about, creating a warm and delicious meal just for her.
“You may serve her, Molly.” His voice was sharp, commanding even. Taking a deep breath, he struggled to rein in the peculiar sensations she had awakened in his heart. “She will not be leaving my realm anytime soon.”
As Molly smiled at Snape, she gently set a bowl of piping hot soup down in front of Lily. “She’s harmless, my lord. Such a sweet girl, she is. Perhaps getting to know her won’t be a burden.” She winked before leaving the kitchen.
As Lily sat by the fireplace, she could feel the comforting warmth seeping into her bones, while Molly’s homemade soup filled the air with its delicious aroma. Severus stood, arms crossed, his gaze fixed on her with unwavering intensity. An odd combination of annoyance and curiosity tugged at him whenever he thought of her. “Eat up, my lady. You’ll need your strength if we plan on breaking the curse that silences you.”
With those captivating eyes of hers, she looked at him, a small smile gracing her beautiful face. Severus let out a deep sigh and settled down next to her, folding his arms once more as he gazed into the crackling flames of the cozy fire.
“How do you plan on breaking this curse, princess?” he questions, but still couldn’t shake the feeling of wanting to be close to her.
She placed the empty bowl on her lap, fixating her gaze on the dancing flames of the fire, casually shrugging her shoulders. Leaning back in the chair, Severus observed as she appeared to drift into deep contemplation. “Well, that’s certainly helpful,” he said sarcastically. His gaze lingered on her, and a flicker of desire to touch her velvety skin briefly crossed his mind, yet he swiftly suppressed it, knowing that vulnerability would be a mistake. A small, subtle movement in her shoulder betrayed her silent giggles.
“What’s so amusing?” he asked her, but his voice came out gruffer than he intended, a mix of curiosity and annoyance.
Lily grabbed a parchment and quill, then wrote, “You have a sense of humor you’re unaware of,” and handed it to him with a smile that would bloom a field of dead flowers.
“I do not have a sense of humor,” he said, taking the paper from her, his hand brushing against hers. Her beauty was ethereal, her innocence shining through her eyes. And yet, there was something about her that made his heart race with unease.
Her head tilted, but her smile remained intact. As Severus glared at her, his eyes narrowed with intense anger. “Princess, I must warn you, my realm is not for the weak. The winter season is harsh and unforgiving. Do you truly wish to challenge me?”
Lily let out another soft giggle before rising to her feet. Before walking out of the kitchen, she leaned in and gently kissed the tip of his nose.

Chapter 3
Severus swiftly spun on his heels and walked off, his robes billowing in the air. He was aware that she wouldn’t take his words or actions lightly. As he took the throne, the Winter’s cold seemed to cling to him, and his mind was already filled with plans to weaken her determination.
Lucius suddenly came into view from around the corner. “Problem, my lord?” he asked, a slight bow of his head.
With a sneer on his lips, Severus turned towards his advisor. “Dealing with the woman from the Spring realm is proving to be harder than we thought. She rejected the idea of acknowledging my authority or considering my offer.”
“She’s not spoken yet?” With a thoughtful expression, Lucius asked, his chin being rubbed.
Shaking his head, King Severus let out a sigh. “No, she hasn’t. Her lack of response only made me even more angry. Lucius, I desire her to be completely shattered. It is important for her to realize that she cannot challenge my authority within my own kingdom.”
Once again, Lucius tapped his chin. “Perhaps meeting our beast would get her speaking?”
While the idea had value, Severus wasn’t someone who depended solely on intimidation. “No, I want her to submit willingly. I want her to beg for mercy and acknowledge me as her king.”
“Lock her up in the courtyard,” Lucius recommended. “She would desperately ask to come indoors in search of warmth.”
“That’s a brilliant idea,” Severus remarked, his eyes shining with approval. “Get the chains ready. And make sure they are unbearable.” He stood up from his throne, his mind already whirling with thoughts of how to break her spirit.
Shortly after, Lucius reappeared and informed the king that the courtyard was prepared. With a concise nod, Severus conveyed his cold and unyielding disposition. “Good. Have her brought there and chain her up. I will deal with her in a moment.”
“Yes, my lord,” Lucius said with a smirk, giving a slight bow before making his exit.
Severus observed as his advisor vanished, immediately shifting his focus to the upcoming task. He was determined to make sure Lily fully grasped the extent of his power and control over her destiny. In a matter of moments, a guard emerged and conveyed the message that Lily was confined in the courtyard.
Severus gave a brief nod, his face displaying a frigid and unwavering demeanor. “Good,” he said, following the guard outside.
As mentioned before, Lily was bound with chains around her neck and ankles, and she was tethered to a pole in the center of the courtyard. Coldly, Severus locked eyes with her, his intense gaze leaving a lasting impression. “You’re mine now, Lily.”
With a vigilant gaze, he closely monitored her while she sat, her eyes locked on her hands. He sensed the air filled with tension, as if it were a tightly stretched wire. “You will respond to me, Lily,” he demanded in a menacingly low tone. “Or you will regret it.”
Despite her body trembling from the cold, she gazed up at him without uttering a word. Severus’ gaze briefly swept across her body. “You’re trembling. I’m hoping it’s fear that I sense, not disinterest. Now, why did you come here?”
As soon as she looked down, he demanded that she make eye contact with him. Disobedience was something he couldn’t stand, especially when it came from someone he now had authority over. The sudden loudness of his voice caused Lily to startle, her eyes fixed on him.
His eyes narrowed with intensity as he glanced down at her. “You haven’t answered my question,” he growled, his voice filled with menace. “Why did you come here?”
Positioned at the edge of the courtyard, Lucius attentively observed the scene. “Perhaps she’s a spy, my lord!” he called out loudly, a bit of excitement from the scene in his voice.
With a dark expression, Severus faced Lucius. “Her betrayal is becoming increasingly clear with each passing moment. The Spring sent her to gather intelligence about my kingdom.”
As Lily shook her head, the chains around her neck rattled. “You dare lie?” Severus asked, his voice dangerously calm. Getting closer to her, he stared deeply into her eyes. “I can feel the life force within you, the energy that belongs to the Spring. It’s all over you.”
She had a look on her face that suggested she was about to speak. Yet, she denied his claims of her being a spy by shaking her head.
“You’ve met my men, observed my kingdom, and stumbled upon my throne. Tell me, what is it you’re after?” Severus’ voice sliced through the chilly winter courtyard like a sharp knife. In the absence of her response, Severus shouted again, forcefully banging his hand on the pole beside her.
“I won’t ask again!” The sound of King Severus’s yelling reverberated throughout the palace’s stone walls. His eyes locked onto hers, a condescending affirmation of his control. “Speak!”
Her eyes welled up with tears, and another one followed suit. In a cold tone, he remarked, “It appears that my patience is running out. You will tell me why you’re here or face the consequences.” He warned, his voice low and menacing.
“Maybe being alone in this cold environment will teach her to respond when spoken to, my lord,” Lucius said with a malicious grin.
“An excellent idea. See to it that she remains in these conditions for the next few hours.” He glared at Lily. “I will return shortly.”
Lily witnessed their departure, the clattering of the surrounding chains hindering her movements. The ground was covered in a layer of snow. The coldness is causing her Spring realm skin to burn. Lily sat on the ground, hugging her legs tightly as she gazed at the palace entrance and blinked in a slow manner.
The sound of King Severus’ footsteps filled the vacant hallways, his mind consumed by ambitions of power and manipulation. Despite himself, he felt a perverse satisfaction as he observed Lily squirming in the brutal winter conditions he had deliberately placed her in.
Lily was shivering uncontrollably after an hour. She sat on the chilly ground, her teeth chattering, while hugging her knees to her chest. With her eyes blinking at a slow pace, she remained fixated on the door. Once the entrance door swung open again, King Severus strode in, his piercing gaze sweeping over the woman huddled in the snow. With a slight movement, she lifted her head and her body began to shake violently.
“You’re shivering,” he commented, his eyes turning icy as he scanned her appearance. “I can feel you coldness seeping into my bones.” His voice was cold and detached, a reminder of the power he held over her.
Her eyelids fluttered as she blinked, her teeth chattering from the freezing cold. Snape took note of the fact that her skin was growing increasingly white. With an authoritative tone, he commanded, “Get up,” allowing no room for disagreement. With an intense, almost predatory stare, he contemplated the possibilities of the power he had over her.
Even as she shifted positions, Lily’s shivering persisted. Before she could regain her balance, she toppled back onto the frigid ground.
“Pathetic,” he quietly muttered, his eyes quickly scanning her again. “I should have left you there to freeze.” He stepped closer, his presence looming over her as he reached down to help her up. “Come now.”
There was complete silence when she tried to speak. With a perplexed expression, Snape directed his gaze towards her. It is only natural for someone to be screaming in pain if they were in their right mind and experiencing such extreme cold. “What’s wrong with you?” Severus demanded, his grip tightening on her arm. “Speak!” He pulled her up roughly to her feet, his eyes narrowing in anger. “You’re lucky I find your silence intriguing.”
Her face twisted in pain as she clutched his hand tightly, her small fingers encircling his tight grip on her arm. His eyes darted from her hand to her face, then back again. “Take your hand off me,” he commanded in a menacing and hushed tone.
With closed eyes, Lily’s face revealed the evident anguish she was experiencing. The cold had left its mark on her skin, turning certain areas into a ghostly white instead of the sun-kissed glow she was used to. Severus’ eyes traced over her skin, captivated by the striking juxtaposition of her pale white complexion against her sun-kissed tan. His anger grew even stronger, fueling him with a fiery intensity.
“I said remove your hand,” he growled, his voice filled with menace as he gave her arm a slight shake.
In a desperate attempt to escape, she clawed at his arm, her fingers digging into his flesh. Despite the irritation that flashed across his face when she defied him, he remained steadfast, keeping a firm grip to protect himself. “Enough,” he snapped, yanking her hand off his arm with force. “Your purpose is to serve, not to push my patience to its limits.”
She sobbed, her silent tears streaming down her cheeks. His heart hardened as Severus silently observed her, disgusted by the pathetic weakness she displayed. “I’m growing tired of your antics,” he warned, his voice filled with frustration as he tightened his grip on her arm once more.
The pain from his grip intensified, prompting her to retaliate by forcefully striking his hand with her icy touch. As she tried to retaliate through pain, his eyes narrowed in response. “You dare?” he questioned coldly, his grip turning almost cruel as he squeezed harder, causing her to wince. “You should remember you place, Spring whore.”
Her struggling ceased, and her gaze locked onto him with her brown eyes. He snarled fiercely, reluctantly releasing her arm, but maintaining a firm grasp on it. “Good,” he commanded, his authoritative tone resonating in the air, as he began to lead her on a journey into the hidden recesses of the majestic palace.
Her arm and body protested with every step, but she persisted and continued to follow. She shivered uncontrollably in the cold, her spring skin offering no defense against the icy temperatures. Severus noticed her shivering, her eyes filled with a mix of fear and pain.
“You’re weak,” he observed coldly, his voice laced with a hint of satisfaction, like ice slicing through the air. “A Spring should be vibrant, with blossoms bursting forth in a riot of colors. Not shivering like a leaf.”
Abruptly, she ceased her steps, causing Severus to pivot and fix his eyes on her. “What is it now?” he snapped.
With her eyes closed and her body swaying, she eventually crumbled to the floor. With a raised eyebrow, he watched her fall, his expression quickly turning cold and distant. Was she putting on an act? Snape’s intense gaze locked onto her as he knelt down to scrutinize her closely, searching for any signs of deception. He noticed her breathing was shallow, as if each breath required great effort.
“Stand up,” he commanded, his voice growing more forceful. “I won’t ask again.”
She remained completely still, not even a twitch. While she typically followed his orders, she kept her eyes closed as a chilling white frost started to spread over her.
“Stand up!” he repeated, this time with more force behind his words. His gaze intensified as he studied her, his narrowed eyes revealing his concentration. Was she messing with his head? Such defiance would never go unpunished in his presence. The frost clung to her body, slowly creeping up and almost completely covering her.
Severus noticed the delicate dance of the frost, but his mind remained fixated on unraveling the mystery of her unresponsiveness. Getting closer, he narrowed his eyes, his expression becoming more focused as he tried to make sense of the situation.
As he stood in the palace’s frosty coldness, a chill ran through his spine when he noticed the absence of her breath. The realization struck him, and his eyes widened in disbelief. “What is happening?”
Out of nowhere, a housemaid appeared and let out a gasp when she saw Lily lying on the floor. “My lord! She must be warmed up! She’s dying!”
Severus looked up at the maid, suddenly aware of her presence, his mind finally snapping into focus. “Bring her to my chambers,” he commanded, his voice harsh yet controlled.
The elder maid’s voice trembled as she said, “I cannot lift her, my lord.”
The maid hesitated, causing Snape to narrow his eyes in suspicion. “the fetch a guard,” he ordered coldly. “I will not have her dying in my presence because of your incompetence.” His gaze returned to Lily, concern and anger warring withing him.
In a calm and almost motherly tone, the maid calmly suggested, “You could… carry her.” This particular maid held a special place in Severus’ heart, as he always displayed a gentle affection towards her.
Ignoring the chill that permeated his bones, Severus knelt down next to Lily with a heavy sigh. With careful precision, he lifted her, feeling a slight twinge as her weight settled in his arms. “This had better not happen again,” he muttered softly, his grip firm as he carried her towards his chamber.
The frost that clung to her was creeping dangerously towards her face. With a slight movement, Snape’s eyes darted towards the frost, a trace of annoyance clear on his otherwise composed face. As he carried Lily through the cold halls of his palace, he could feel the chill seeping through his clothes. “Keep this to yourself,” he commanded the maid in a hushed and anxious tone.

Chapter 2
Lily observed as a guard entered the room in response to Severus' call. "Bring some warm clothes for our guest. Make sure they are comfortable and fit well," he commanded.
"Yes, my lord," the guard saluted, stealing a quick glance at Lily before disappearing.
Severus folded his arms across his torso, adopting a somewhat neutral expression as he fixed his gaze on her. Lily's gaze moved to meet his eyes. Without any movement or words, she simply stood in place, softly rubbing her neck that was marked with bruises.
"Lily, is there anything else you need right now?" The way he spoke, filled with curiosity, hinted at his desire to delve deeper into her story.
When she gingerly touched her injured neck, he arched an eyebrow, carefully studying her before giving a nod in understanding. "I see." He stood up from the bed, his movements fluid and precise. "I will have someone bring you something for that." He turned away, calling out for another guard. "See to it that our guest is comfortable and brought something to aid her discomfort." With that, he dismissed the guard. Turning back to her, he asked, "Are you comfortable enough here, Lily?"
She placed her hands in front of her, crossing one hand over the other, and looked down at the floor while subtly nodding.
He acknowledged her discomfort with a nod. "You're not used to the cold, are you?" He asked, his voice soft but curious. "It's different from your Spring realm, isn't it?"
Once again, she nodded, her eyes flickering upward to meet his gaze. Looking at her, Severus' gaze became intense, his face displaying a stern and unwavering expression. "You'll get used to it," he said coldly. "This is my realm, and you will abide by my rules. Do you understand?"
Nodding once again, her gaze wandered back to the floor. Stepping closer to her, Severus locked his piercing gaze onto her. "You will learn, you'll see," he muttered under his breath before turning away, his icy demeanor still present.
Suddenly, a person arrives holding handmade clothes that would ensure Lily stays warm. Severus gave a nod of approval. "Lily, these garments have been carefully selected to ensure your comfort during the Winter court. You are to change into them immediately."
After placing the clothes on the bed, the handmaid bowed and exited the room. Lily observed the king's departure, shutting the door as he exited the room. Severus confidently walked through the corridors of his grand palace, his flowing robes trailing elegantly. The hallways were frigid, with the air nipping at his skin, but it was the only path he was familiar with. Lucius encountered him in his personal study.
"How is our guest, my lord?" Lucius inquired, giving a slight nod.
The intensity in Severus's gaze heightened as he locked eyes with his trusted advisor. "She's in the process of learning," he stated icily, his tone allowing no room for debate. "She understands that this is her new reality."
"She seems obedient to only you and no one else," Lucius pointed out. "It's very strange. She must understand authority."
With a smirk on his face, Severus's eye twitched ever so slightly. "Yes, Lucius, she does understand authority... Perhaps too well. Her presence here isn't just about power, it's about control as well."
"Do you perhaps think she might be someone who worked in the Spring realm palace? If she was royalty, I don't think she would be so obedient," Lucius said, tapping his chin.
With a raised eyebrow, the king analyzed Lucius for a brief moment. "You think she might be a spy, as you mentioned before? Perhaps sent by the Prince of Spring to infiltrate my court?"
"Is there a prince in the Spring realm? I thought they had only a princess." Lucius rubbed his temple. "We must get this woman to speak."
"They have two children. A prince and princess. However, I believe our guest might have more information than she's willing to share. Keep an eye on her, Lucius. And make sure she understands that her cooperation is essential."
"Yes, my lord," Lucius nodded with a slight bow. The garden outside the castle caught his attention, right below the king's study window. "Ah, one of the handmaids has finally shown her the garden."
"Lily has shown some interest in the garden?" Severus asked, turning to look outside.
With surprise, Lucius gazed at the king. "Her name is Lily?"
"It seemed so. Keep an eye on her. Ensure she doesn't attempt anything foolish or disruptive. We need information about the Spring realm, and she might be our key."
Lucius vanished after bowing in response. Observing Lucius's departure, a sense of unease lingered with the king regarding the situation. He was familiar with being feared and respected, but there was an intriguing quality about Lily. He found her captivating, and it went beyond the fact that she belonged to the Spring realm. From his study, Severus peered out the window and observed Lily's actions. When a rare ice deer approached the young woman in the garden, his eyes widened as she fed it.
With narrowed eyes, suspicion began to rise in him. "Interesting... and ice deer showing such trust towards someone from the Spring realm. It might be just a coincidence, but it's worth noting. Perhaps this could manipulate the situation further."
Without averting his eyes, Severus continued to watch her intently. The sight of her smiling for the first time caused a strange feeling in his chest. "I don't understand this feeling..."
His eyes were glued to the scene as he observed another uncommon ice deer making its way towards her in the garden. Severus observed the trust reflected in the eyes of the extraordinary creature. His smirk revealed his awareness that this could be the advantage he needed to dominate her territory.
"Hmm," he muttered to himself, already scheming sinisterly. Severus made the decision to accompany her in the garden. With a gradual approach, he maintained unwavering eye contact as he neared her. Coming up behind her, he stopped and softly placed his hands on her shoulders, his icy breath creating a tingling sensation on her neck. "You seem to have quite the affinity with these creatures," he murmured, his voice soft and low.
While the uncommon deer dashed away from the king, Lily shifted her gaze towards him, his commanding stature casting a shadow over her.
"You will find that my winter curt is not as hospitable to spring visitors as you might hope," King Severus said, his voice cold as ice. Despite feeling the force emanating from her, he was resolute in not allowing her to have power over him.
As she gazed up at him, the garden they were standing in accentuated her light brown eyes.
"Hmm, you look well here." He glanced around the garden, taking in the beautiful colors and ice-covered trees. "It's quite different from you realm." He raised an eyebrow, studying her. "And yet you seem to be adjusting quite well."
Drawing her shawl closer to her slender shoulders, her gaze shifted downward, and a melancholic expression washed over her face.
Severus narrowed his eyes, sensing her discomfort. "Tell me, Lily... what do you miss most about your realm?" His tone was soft, almost gentle, but there was a hint of danger underneath.
In an attempt to make her open up, King Severus hoped that showing kindness would do the trick. However, she remained silent in that spot. "Come now, don't be shy. I'm sure there's something you miss about your realm. The warmer weather, perhaps? Or the vibrant colors that seem to be lacking here?"
He observed her nodding, with her shawl still tightly wrapped around her shoulders. Curiosity consumed him as he wondered about her inner thoughts. Her discomfort in his presence was apparent, yet he also picked up on an underlying fear.
At that very moment, the ground trembled ever so slightly, resulting in her losing her balance and stumbling into the king. Surprise flashed in his cold eyes as he caught her, his hands gently grazing her soft body. It was impossible for him not to notice the vulnerability she displayed in his grip. Looking up at him, Lily's delicate hands rested on his chest as the ground continued to tremble slightly. For a moment, Severus felt his heart race and his usually icy demeanor waver slightly. As he looked into her eyes, he saw the same fear and vulnerability that he felt within himself.
In her light brown eyes, he detected a faint tinge of green. As he delved further into them, it felt as though he could glimpse the world of Spring.
"It seems your arrival has not gone unnoticed," he murmured, his voice low and husky. Although his heartbeat slowed down a bit, he continued to maintain a strong grip on her. He recognized that she originated from a distinct season, one that was incompatible with his frigid empire.
Once again, the earth shook, causing her to cling to his clothes for support.
"Be careful, my lady. The earth does not take kindly to your presence here." His voice was cold, but there was a hint of concern in his eyes. Aware that she was different from those who intruded upon his realm, he felt an inexplicable pull towards her.
With the earth at a standstill, Lily instinctively fixed her shawl and stepped back. With caution, Severus kept an eye on her, observing her efforts to regain her composure. His eyes were sharp, penetrating her defenses. "You are here for a reason, are you not?" His voice was cold and unyielding, reflecting the harsh reality of his rule.
While she nodded, she maintained her silence. The chill in the air caused her shoulders to tremble slightly. With a hardened expression, Severus directed his gaze towards her. His knowledge of her fear only added to his anger and contempt.
"Speak," he commanded, his voice echoing through the empty garden.
The sudden volume of his voice made her jump in surprise. Severus took note of the accelerated pace of her breaths.
"You are here representing Spring." It wasn't a question, it was a statement of fact in his mind. Severus was no fool; he knew exactly why she was here, and he wasn't going to let her forget it.
Her headshake was met with a sharp tone in his voice, reminiscent of a cutting blade in the air. "You deny it? Look around you, Lily. This is my kingdom, and I rule with an iron fist. There is no room for weakness, and there certainly is no room for treachery."
Her eyes filled with fear as he continued to accuse her, and she stared at him.
"Tell me then, what are you doing here?" His eyes were like glinting knives, probing into her very soul. "Speak up, or do you plan on remaining silent until it's too late?"
As she glanced at the floor, a single tear traced its way down her tender cheek. "Look at me!" he commanded, his voice stern and cold. "Now, tell me why you are here."
In a gradual manner, she shifted her gaze back to him, another tear making its way down her face. He moved slightly nearer. "I am waiting, Lily. Do not make me force the truth from you. Tell me why you are here."
It was the first time Lily took a step back since he approached her. Narrowing his eyes at her reply, Severus advanced another step towards her. "You dare to lie to me? To try and hide the truth?" His voice was like a whip, lashing out at her. "You are in grave danger, Lily."
Backing up once more, she found herself pressed against the icy wall of the castle. Taking one more step forward, he brought his dark aura closer to her. "I warned you, now answer! Remember, I hold you life in my hands."
As he ordered her to look at him, Lily's grip on her shawl around her slim shoulders grew stronger. The sound of his voice was so frightening to her that she immediately covered her ears, crouched down, closed her eyes tightly, and trembled with fear.
"Fine," he growled, frustrated by her fear-induced silence. "If you won't speak, then perhaps I should make you more... cooperative."
A surge of anger washed over Severus as she defied him. With his eyes as sharp as flint, he took a stride towards her. "You will speak," he said, his voice cold and threatening. "Or I will make you."
Trembling, she kept her ears covered and her eyes tightly shut. Her breathing heavy.
"Very well," he sighed, clearly exasperated. "If you insist on making this difficult, perhaps some time alone in the Winter's chill will encourage you to reconsider you stubbornness."
With a sudden movement, Lily directed her eyes upward to meet his. Taking a moment to study her, his gaze was both cold and assessing. "My offer stands, Lily," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "Answer me, or face the consequences."
Her silence provoked his anger, and he glared at her with narrowed eyes. "You have until the end of the day to speak! If you are still stubborn and silent, then you will be locked outside in the courtyard until you see reason."

Chapter 1
King Severus Snape, adorned in his most majestic attire, is seated on his throne, his intense gaze fixed upon one of the guards, his eyes ablaze with determination. "You said you found someone wandering my ice lands?" he asked, his voice cold.
With a nod and a small bow, the guard silently acknowledges him. "Yes, my lord. She was found wandering the castle grounds in the woods, looking for a way out."
His features become rigid, and with a haughty gaze, he leans forward on the throne. "You said it yourself - she was searching for a way out. Do you dare suggest I let her go after she had breached my realm? Do you think me such a fool?" The icy tone in King Severus' voice sent shivers down the spines of all who heard it.
Opening his mouth, the guard starts to say something, but quickly changes his mind and shakes his head. "No, my lord. But she is just a mere traveler who lost her way."
There's a flicker of amusement in the king's voice, even as his eyes narrow slightly. "Ah, a mere traveler, you say? Then perhaps I should show her the true meaning of hospitality in the Winter Court."
With a gesture, the king's guard beckoned two members of his unit to bring her closer. As she entered the throne room, a man pushed her roughly, causing her to stumble and fall onto the chilling stone surface beneath her. With anticipation etched in his hardened eyes, King Severus Snape observed her arrival before him. As he stepped down from his seat, his black leather gloved hand reached out, gripping the chain around her neck tightly as he pulled her closer. With a wince, she slowly opened her eyes, revealing the fear and discomfort that etched her freckled face.
"Ah, a lost traveler, seeking warmth in my lands. But be warned, my dear, for I am not known for my hospitality." His voice was bitter, yet there was an undeniable charm to it.
The woman's pretty light brown eyes welled up with tears, but she quickly blinked them away and averted her gaze from him.
"Do you know why I don't show mercy to trespassers?" He inched closer, his exhale causing a ticklish sensation in her ear. "Because they challenge my authority, and I cannot allow that."
Once more, she grimaced, sensing the tightening of the chain encircling her neck as he addressed her. "Tell me, what is your name, little traveler?" he asked, his voice still cold.
With a slight bow, the guard moved forward. "We have had little luck in getting her to speak, my lord. She's not uttered a single word."
"Hmm, perhaps she's not used to my kind of hospitality. Or maybe she's just too scared to speak." He smirked slightly, amused by the power he held over her. "In any case, she'll learn to obey soon enough."
Her light brown eyes transformed their expression from fear to something different. Giving him a piercing stare, she opted to stay silent.
"So, you choose silence over obedience, do you? Very well. I want to clarify that I am a tolerant ruler, but even my patience has its limits." He stood upright, casting a shadow over her.
"What shall we do with her, my lord?" The guard, filled with concern, inquired while looking at the young woman. "People of her realm can't survive here."
The woman was met with a gaze full of amusement as King Severus Snape narrowed his eyes. He advanced, causing the chain around her throat to constrict slightly. "You remind me of my own humble beginnings."
With a gulp, she endured the discomfort of the chain around her neck, which left a noticeable mark. To prevent herself from crying due to the pain, she squeezed her jaw firmly.
"You're right, my guard. We can't simply let her perish. She'll have to adapt or die trying." His gaze never leaving the girl, he pondered for a moment before adding, "For now, she'll be given shelter and food suitable for her season."
The guard's smile grew slightly, showing his satisfaction. On the pretty face of the young woman, there was a fleeting expression of relief.
"But do not mistake my kindness for weakness, little one. Remember, you are my prisoner, and you will learn to obey me... or suffer the consequences."
Instead of speaking, she communicated by blinking and avoiding eye contact, focusing on the cold stone floor. "From this day forward, you will live in my palace. You will eat when I say, and you will sleep where I command. Your every move will be watched, and your every thought will be analyzed. Do you understand," he said, his voice raising a bit.
Seated on the ground, she gently rested her hands on her lap and gave a nod.
"Good. Now rise and my guard to your new chambers," he finished, standing straight and walking away as the guard assisted her to her feet.
Upon seeing her depart, King Severus settles back into his throne. He leans back, a satisfied smirk on his face, as he ponders the extent of his power. The king's most trusted assistant leans in to whisper something.
"My lord, are you sure having a Spring realm dweller here is a good idea? She might be a spy," the advisor stated his worry.
"I am aware of the risks, Lucius. But something about her intrigues me. And if she is a spy, then let her try to outsmart me. For now, we'll observe her and see how she fares in our realm," King Severus stated, tapping the armrest of the throne.
"You don't think, perhaps, she's of royal blood in the Spring realm?" Lucius pondered out loud.
Snape glanced sideways, pondering the suggestion. "It's possible, Lucius. However, even if she isn't directly related to their ruler, her presence could potentially stir up trouble or reveal weaknesses in the Spring court."
"Having her presence here could greatly benefit you, my lord... in assuming control of the Spring realm," Lucius exclaimed with a touch of enthusiasm in his tone.
"There's that, Lucius. The allure of power over another season... But remember, even with her as leverage, it won't be easy. The Spring court values freedom and beauty above all else. We must tread carefully," Snape said, nodding his agreement.
Lucius made a gesture, acknowledging that they had excelled in the area of beauty, specifically referring to the young woman's attractiveness.
With an air of superiority, Severus glanced at him. "Indeed, they do." He stood and stepped closer to Lucius, their whispers echoing through the stone hallways. "But remember, this is my domain. And any trespass from another season will not be tolerated."
With a slight downward movement of his head, Lucius expressed agreement. Naturally, my lord. It would be wise to be vigilant about certain men. They appear to be quite thirsty. If you know what I mean."
"I do know what you mean, Lucius. And I will be keeping a close watch on everyone. No one is above suspicion in this game of power." He paused for a moment, his eyes glinting with a sinister intent. "And speaking of games..." The king's lips curled into a sinister smile, revealing his perfect white teeth. "I've been offered a woman from the Spring realm as leverage. A most beautiful one at that." He paused, letting the implications sink in. "I will send word shortly to the Spring realm of her being here."
"That's an excellent plan, Your Highness," Lucius said, his face lighting up with approval. "We should wait three days before sending them word."
With a raised eyebrow, Severus pondered over the advice from Lucius. "Hmm, three days might be too long. Two days should suffice." He went to his study and picked up a quill and dipped it into an inkwell. "Make the necessary arrangements."
"Yes, my lord. As you wish," Lucius owed before leaving his presence.
"I wonder how she'll react to the harshness of our realm," King Severus wondered out loud.
Standing in the middle of the guest room chamber, the young woman had the chain around her neck removed by the guard. Her face contorted in pain as she carefully touched the area where the chain had left a mark.
Taking a moment to think, King Severus formulated a clever solution. "Lucius, ensure she's shown to the gardens. We'll give her a taste of her own Spring While she's here."
"Certainly, my lord. I'll ensure that she is aware of its whereabouts... if I manage to get her out of her room. The guards have informed me that she is stubborn."
Severus quietly chuckled in response to Lucius's remark. "She's from the Spring realm, isn't she? Stubbornness runs deep in their veins." He leans back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Your Lordship, maybe she would be more receptive to you," Lucius said, rubbing his chin.
Giving him a thoughtful look, Severus contemplated his suggestion. "A challenge, indeed. But perhaps one I'm willing to undertake." His eyes hardened as he stood up from his chair. "I'll handle this myself."
Lucius nodded and observed as the king vanished towards his chamber. The door was shut and two guards were rapping on it, attempting to persuade her to unlock it.
"Open the door," Snape instructed the guards.
A sigh escaped from one of the guards. "My lord, we gave it our all and tried everything we could. She is not willing to come outside. After I liberated her from the chain around her neck and departed, she closed the door and locked herself inside."
Their incompetence frustrated Severus, clear by the twitching of his eyebrow. "I will take care of it," he grumbled, forcefully pushing past them and striding towards the door.
With a swift motion, the king lifted his hand and knocked firmly on the door. "Open this door now," he demanded coldly, with authority in his voice. He made no effort to conceal his annoyance or impatience.
There was a noticeable click coming from within, and the door started to open slightly. Her eyes, a gentle shade of brown, lifted to meet his gaze.
"You are coming out now," Severus said, his voice like ice. Without any concern, he openly displayed his irritation. His intense gaze never wavered as he leaned against the door frame, focused on her.
As she opened the door further, her small frame contrasted with his towering height. The young woman gently held her neck, feeling discomfort from the chain she had worn earlier. Severus advanced, his eyes fixed unwaveringly on hers. His hands stayed by his side, with his fingers gently twitching.
"I'm not making a request," he said with a menacing tone. "I am telling." He had no intention of letting her get away with this.
With a slight nod, she opened the door completely. "What a good girl," Severus purred, as he took a step into her chambers. His eyes scanned her figure, carefully noting every detail. "Now, what is your name?"
Her gaze was fixed on the ground as she gently massaged her sore neck. Severus swiftly crossed the room, coming to a halt mere inches from her quivering figure. "Answer me. Your name, girl," he said harshly.
She looked up and met his eyes, with the atmosphere in the room enhancing the beauty of her light brown eyes. "Lily," he said in a low, menacing tone, his voice smooth yet powerful. "You go by the name Lily, right?" He subtly leaned closer, his breath lightly brushing against her face. After she nodded, he made it clear, "Lily, you are to address me as 'my lord'."
Severus arched an eyebrow in response to her wordless stare. "I've asked you something," he said in a low, seductive tone. "Are you aware of the repercussions of defying my orders?" He leaned in closer, his lips brushing against her ear.
She gave a nod of agreement but remained silent. The thought crossed King Severus' mind whether she was incapable of speaking. A sigh escaped him as he moved back a little. "Very well. Fo For now, you may address me as my lord since you seem to have trouble with other options." His eyes narrowed slightly, observing her closely. "I hope you understand that this is your new reality, Lily."
Once again, she gently massaged her neck, grimacing in pain. In a relaxed manner, Severus took a seat on the edge of her compact bed, allowing his eyes to roam over her figure. Quietly, she stood in place, her body shaking a bit. Her outfit wasn't meant for this cold, icy realm.
"Lily," he murmured gently, his voice nearly comforting despite the chilly aura surrounding him. "I strongly suggest that you switch to something more suitable for the Winter court. Our clothing is designed to provide warmth.
With a nod and a slight shrug, she looked at him, indicating her uncertainty about the location of anything. "I'll have someone bring you something appropriate," he assured, his voice serene yet authoritative. "In the meantime, perhaps you should rest. You look tired." His gaze drifted over her again, taking in her pale skin and weary expression.
Severus observed her closely, taking note of her obedient response as she nodded slowly. It was surprising how quickly she adapted to her new circumstances, especially since she hailed from the Spring realm. Curiosity filled him as he questioned the nature of his control over her, which led to her continued submissiveness despite their circumstances.
