Product Spotlight: 100ml Dorica Oil Bottle

Taken from our range of beautiful glass oil bottles. The 100ml dorica Oil Bottle comes with two different finishes and cap options. The 24mm and 31.5mm finishes. Both have their advantages and different purposes. Below we will go in to more detail about each and help you to decide which is best for you and your product.

The 100ml dorica oil bottle with the 24mm finish is better suited at storing oils such as sesame seed oil and other speciality oils. The thinner neck allows for a more controlled pourer. Whereas the 100ml dorica oil bottle with the 31.5mm finish has a wider mouth and is more suited to thicker sauces which don't require such a precise pour.

Both of these bottles are made from the highest quality food grade glass and offer a great storage option for your product. Each have their benefits so read on below to find out more about each version of the 100ml dorica oil bottle.

100ml Dorica Oil Bottle with 24mm Finish

This version is thinner, more elegant and is perfect for thinner sauces and oils. The 100ml size of this bottle makes it perfect for smaller quantities of your product to be used as gifts or samples.

The bottle can be used with a variety of different products. Including chilli sauces, chilli oils, olive oil, rapeseed oil, vinegars, salad dressing and much more. It can even be used for some spirits and even makes a great size for a wedding favour!

The tall flat sides allow for ample space to apply your labels and branding. And help to give this bottle an elegant and traditional style.

100ml Dorica Oil Bottle with 31.5mm Finish

Perfect for thicker sauces which struggle to fit through the smaller opening of the 24mm version. The 100ml dorica with the 31.5mm finish is the smallest bottle in our dorica range. It's the smaller version of our 250ml dorica oil bottle and 500ml dorica oil bottle. And fits in with the range perfectly.

Along with a standard black or gold plastic cap it can also be supplied with oil pourer caps. The oil pourer cap helps control the flow of thinner sauces and oils by placing an integrated funnel in the mouth of the bottle. All three plastic lids are tamper evident and can be applied by hand.

It can also be supplied with our metal oil pourer cap. As shown below, this is the perfect cap for using in the kitchen or at restaurants.

Caps and Capsules

The 24mm has the 24mm polycone caps they can be applied easily by hand and offer a strong leak free seal for thinner products. The 24mm tamper evident caps can also be applied by hand and have a clear plastic tamer evident seal which is broken by opening the bottle after filling.

The 31.5mm plastic cap comes in 3 options. Plain black or gold plastic. Or a black plastic with an oil pourer insert. All three option have a tamper evident seal and can easily be applies by hand.

A variety of heat shrink capsules are also available for both bottles. Heat shrink capsules fit over the lid of your bottle and shrink to size. This adds a layer of tamper evidence to your product and adds a finishing touch to your product. To learn which capsule fits on which product. Metal Oil Pourer Cap

This metal pourer cap will only work with the 31.5mm version of this bottle and our larger dorica oil bottles. It's perfect for use within kitchens. Both domestically and commercially.

It fits securely on either the 100ml dorica with 31.5mm cap, 250ml dorica and 500ml dorica oil bottles. they aren't good for transportation but can be sold along with a sealed bottle for use at home. They are made from high quality metal so can be used again and again. As long as they are cleaned and maintained.

Included are a dust flap at the top and a separate air tube to allow for easy and fast flowing pouring of your favourite oils and sauces. The 31.5mm metal oil pourer cap also allows the control of the oil flow. Meaning there will be less wastage as you can precisely pour the required amount of oil. This will also lead to healthy and less oily meals.

This is a great little bottle no matter which finish you choose. It's great for those limited edition hot sauces or to offer your customers a small sample size of your oil.

In this weeks product spotlight we are featuring one of our most popular jars from our range of glass food jars. The 125ml round jar is a small straight sided round jar. It's classical and simple design make it a popular choice for all sorts of products.

Glass Jar For Candles

We've done exactly that in one of our blogs. Stuart shared his recipe for steamed treacle puddings in glass jars. These delicious desserts are easy to make and work great in glass jars. By having each dessert in an individual glass jar. You know you won't eat too much.

Glass Jam Jar

We use this size jar all the time when we are creating jams, chutneys and sauces. The smaller size means that products are used up quickly and don't have a chance to turn bad. An the straight sides make it easy to fill and to get every last drop out of the jar.

They are also great for using again and again as they are easy to clean. The straight sides of the jar do make a huge difference as no jam etc is getting stuck in the corners.

66mm Twist Off Lids

This jar is supplied with a 66mm twist off cap. It comes in a variety of colours including gold, black, silver, white and a black button version. The lug caps are suitable for canning various kinds of food: sweet, salty, acidic, fatty, etc. They are also suitable for pasteurisation (+100 °C) or sterilisation (+121±2 °C).

The 66mm black button cap is perfect for helping add tamper evidence to your product. The button on the top of the lid works exactly like you will have seen in the supermarket. When your product is sealed the button will stay down. Once it's opened it will pop when pushed.

To achieve this tamper evident seal. Simply hot fill your jar and put the lid on. When the product cools it will contract and pull the lid down. Stopping it from popping.

This Sunday will mark the 11th year since Sen5es Bottles was founded.

In this blog we are celebrating another successful year of high quality products and service and what we have been doing here to grow the business and to make sure every customer is satisfied with every aspect of our service, from clicking on the website to the product arriving at your door.

Our warehouse is in constant change as we expand our product range and we have been aiming to make sure we can still bring you great value throughout the tough economic climate, without sacrificing our quality.

This year we have been even more ambitious when it came to stock and have ordered more than ever before and while we might have struggled to find a place for it all at first, we have managed to optimise our storing and now can ensure we don't run out of stock, especially on our customer favorites.

Constantly in motion we have pallets leaving and arriving on a daily basis and we are always happy to see them arrive as much as when we see them go.

Our forklift driver has known no rest as there seems to be always something that needs to be moved. We couldn't be happier to be this busy and we appreciate everyone who makes it possible.

Product Spotlight: 1.5oz Mini Jam Jar

Is there a more iconic jar than the 1.5oz mini jam jar? Seen in B&B's across the country and used for cream teas from Devon to Cornwall. This is definitely one of the most recognisable glass jars around.

The 1.5oz mini jam jar is one of our most popular products from our entire glass jars range. It's an icon in the glass packaging industry and has a surprising amount of uses. Obviously it's great for storing jams, chutneys and honeys. But did you know it can also be great for sauces, mayonnaise and wedding favours.

At 43ml in size it's the perfect size jar for samples. It means you can offer samples to your customers without having to sell or give away large quantities. January is coming to a close and Valentines day just around the corner, Stuart at Sen5es has whipped up a recipe for a perfect little treat for you to enjoy and share with others, as well as the perfect way to store it and show it off. This recipe of Stuart's is one he has happily used for the last 25 years and comes highly recommended.

Cheesecake is always a good after dinner choice of dessert and here we have the perfect recipe for vanilla cheesecake that will fit right into our 190ml Glass Jar, perfect for a single portion and for storing in the fridge for later.

Ingredients:

30g (3)Ginger nuts

105g (5)Digestives

30g butter

280g Philadelphia / cream cheese

300ml Double cream

150g Castor sugar

1 x Vanilla pod

What you will need:

Method:

1. Clean glass jars with detergent, rinse with warm water, dry the jars, place on tray and cover with clean tea towel.

2. Put the butter in the pan put on low heat to melt, when melted turn the heat off.

3. Place all the biscuit’s into the food processor and pulse until a fine crumb then pour into the pan with melted butter, stir and then divide into the 6 jars.

4, Press biscuit down firmly into the bottom of the jars and place the tray of jars into the fridge to chill.

5. Place cream cheese into bowl with sugar.

6. Place the vanilla pod onto the chopping board and split the vanilla pod down the middle lay the pod flat and scrape out the seeds, Add the seeds to the cream cheese and sugar and beat with the spoon until smooth, the vanilla pod skin can then be stored in a jar with sugar to make Vanilla sugar.

7. Slowly drizzle the cream into the bowl as you beat the cream cheese beat it until it is thick but still silky then add more cream and beat until all the cream is added and the mixture is just firm enough to hold onto the spoon.

8. Take the 6 glass jars out of the fridge and spoon the cream cheese and vanilla mixture into the glass jars leaving 1-2 cm from the top to add a topping and allowing enough room for the jar caps to be applied.

9. Place jar lids on and place the cheesecakes in the fridge for later. Then serve and enjoy.

These Vanilla Cheesecakes are very tasty on their own but if you want a little something extra why not try adding butterscotch and banana, or else strawberries or blackberries are just a few ideas we can think of.

Sen5es Recipe: Carrot And Coriander Soup

What's a better way to warm up in the winter months than with a nice bowl (or in this case jar) of soup?

We all know how convenient it is to buy a pot of soup from the supermarket. It's usually the right quantity for 2 people and it saves time and wastage. But what if you could make your own portion sized pots of soup?

The best way to store your soup, ready for individual portions is in some lovely glass jars. We have a wide range of glass jars in stock. But for this particular recipe we would suggest using our 277ml KilnClip Jar for a one person portion of soup.

These jars are great for storing soup as they have a strong air tight seal and look fabulous in the fridge. The following recipe will create around 5-6 jars. From our online store you can buy a pack of 6 for just £9 plus shipping. That way you will always have an extra jar just in case. And the best thing about these jars is that they are reusable! Perfect for an eco-friendly and decorative packaging solution.

Ingredients

50g butter

450g carrots, peeled and chopped

1/2 onion, chopped

1 celery stick

30g plain flour

1 glass of wine (optional)

1 L vegetable stock

1 tsp ground coriander

30g Fresh Coriander

100ml whipping or double cream

Equipment

Knife and chopping board

Large Saucepan with lid

Blender/food processor

wooden or silicone spoon

Ladle

6 x 277ml KilnClip Jars (sterilised)

Method

Heat your butter in a large pan and add your onion and celery. sweat on a low heat for around 2-4 minutes or until it's softened.

Add your ground coriander and carrots and cook for a further 2-3 minutes.

Add your flour and stir well.

Add wine (optional) and vegetable stock and bring to the boil.

Reduce your heat and cover. Cook for around 30 minutes or until the carrots are tender.

Pour in to your food processor with your Cream and fresh coriander and then blend it until it's smooth.

Allow to cool and ladle in to your sterilised glass jars. Check out our sterilisation guide if you need help with this!

Seal and store in the fridge until ready to eat. These should last up to 4 days sealed and in the fridge, to keep for longer freeze for up to 3 months.

To reheat pour the contents in to small sauce pan and gently heat for 5 minutes.

Please note: There is metal in the closing mechanism of the jar and therefore it is not suitable to be used in a microwave.
