12 Days of Christmas

On the first day of Christmas Lucifer gave to meeeeee, a hung up Mammon on the Christmas treeee

On the second day of Christmas Mammon stole Grimm from me and he is still hung on the damn tree

On the third day of Christmas Leviathan gave to me, a day of games in his room, I still don’t have my Grimm and Mammon’s still on the damn tree

On the fourth day of Christmas Satan gave to me, a pretty damn cute cat plushie, Levi’s games are pretty fun, no sign of my Grimm and Mammon’s hanging on that damn tree

On the fifth day of Christmas Asmodeus gave to me, a make over just for me and my cute plushie, Levi wants to play, my pocket’s still empty, and someone please get Mammon off that tree

On the sixth day of Christmas Beelzebub gave to me, a tower of food taller than me, my skin is so damn soft, my plushie is too, no games for today, I am broke as can be and Mammon fell asleep on the tree.

On the seventh day of Christmas Belphegor slept on me, so I was stuck in bed the whole day, that tower will fall over, my skin is kind of itchy, did that plushie move?, Levi please go away, there’s no money left for me, and Mammon finally escaped that damn tree.

On the eighth day of Christmas Diavolo gave to me, dad puns I can not take this, Belphie’s still asleep, the tower did fall over, I think I’m allergic, I think the plushie is alive, wait Levi please don’t cry, I give up on the money, and Lucifer has noticed the tree.

On the ninth day of Christmas Barbatos gave to me, a full face of red, the puns keep on coming, my pillow is now gone, the food is all over, I’m definitely allergic, the plushie’s back in bed, Levi let me hug you, I’m a proud broke person, and Lucifer found Mammon neath the tree.

On the tenth day of Christmas Solomon gave to me, some kind of purple goop, my cheeks are still red, those puns are kind of good, my blanket is gone too, I gave up on the food, someone call the doctor, the plushie now has a sweater, here’s some pats for Levi, I’m skipping out on lunch, and Mammon’s pleading for his dear life.

On the eleventh day of Christmas Simeon gave to me, a spray bottle hehehehe, is this even food?, Barbie? Barbie who?, he knows cat puns too?, is my mattress next?, now the food is gone too, turns out it was paint, the sweater is kind of cute, Levi is a bit pouty, begging Lucifer for some money, and Mammon really did not succeed.

On the twelfth day of Christmas Luke gave to me, a hug which made me pretty happy, I’m spraying him and him, Solomon why’d you cook this?, yes of course I like him, okay that is punough, Belphie give my stuff back, Beel ate all the food, I’ve washed the paint away, I hug the plush and wait, Levi don’t run away, I got some more money, and Mammon is back on that damn tree.

..... I honestly hate it quite a bit, I would rather they just use MC. It just feels more natural than reading Y/N or [Name]... I mean, no judgement to the people who do use it, just saying.

Besides that, I just started reading fics without the reader being a part of the story. The self-inserts got annoying quick but there are still some amazing fics that are indeed self-inserts. I just personally dislike them. I'd much rather focus on the characters inside the game or show themselves and their problems, rather than mine in what the self-insert gives me.

if you’re a fanfic writer/reader please tell me your honest opinion:

how do you feel about the use of Y/N or [Name] in fics as opposed to just avoiding saying reader’s name at all?
