Okay, this NEEDS to be a fic... Is it? Has someone done that? If not, pls tag me if someone makes a fic for this.
Steampunk AU where Thomas, an Horologist for hire finds the Sides while looking for scraps at the junkyard where the five have been hiding out after being abandoned in their burning house. All five of them have trouble trusting humans because they were left to perish without a second thought, but Deceit is the most bitter because he watched their maker run and not look back.
Specifics:
Logan is missing his right arm
Virgil, who runs on a winding key, is missing said key.
Roman is chipped and his voicebox is damaged
Deceit is missing half of his face and parts of his legs
Patton is the most in tact and as a healing automaton has been trying to put everyone back together.

Roman: I will protect you at all costs, even if I will get hurt for it.
Logan: I will provide you will all the knowledge you desire, even if there are words I'd rather leave unsaid.
Patton: I will love every inch of you for all of eternity, even if you are later nothing but a memory.
Deceit: I will keep you safe, even if I have to keep you from the truth.
Virgil: I will seek to understand everything that makes you the person you are, even if I am left searching for the rest of time.

Kinda generic but I didn’t sleep last night: Deceit being forgotten on Christmas day? 👽
I likeyyyy
Deceit woke up later than everybody else, at 10 am rather than 7. Normally, that wouldn’t have bothered him but he frowned and double checked the date.
December 25th. Yeah, it was Christmas…
So why had no one come to wake him up to open presents? Deceit pursed his lips, opening his door and standing at the top of the stairs, surveying the downstairs. Wrapping paper lay strewn around the tree, and he could hear the others laughing in the kitchen. Unnoticed, 4 little boxes were still under the Christmas tree; a red one, a purple one, a baby blue one and a navy blue one.
Deceit felt his eyes water, so he turned around and returned to his room as unnoticed as the gifts. Did he really think that just because they didn’t grimace when they saw him anymore that he’d be accepted? That just because he was invited to breakfast he’d be part of their holidays? God, how stupid was he? The dark side wondered as he wiped furiously at his eyes.
It wasn’t so bad. It was just another day alone. He’d had plenty of days alone. He could handle it.
“Merry Christmas.” He muttered dryly.

The Nothing That Became His Everything.
Logan x Roman
Warning: breif mention of leaving a bad home situation
~
Whenever Logan looked into his night sky, he couldn't help but think what a wonderful picture it would make. His sky was far away from anything that could hurt it's perfection. Hundreds of miles away from any city or pollution or contaminants; his sanctuary was the most beautiful place on Earth.
Despite it being the middle of the night, there were always enough flickering lights in the sky to illuminate what seemed to be the whole world.
Here, without the stress of people or responsibilities, was a place that Logan could truely call home. Here, he could think about whatever he wanted, express his emotions however he needed. Here, Logan believed he was the closest to home he had ever been.
Logan remembers finding this picture perfect spot long, long ago.
There was no way, Logan decided one day, he would survive another suffocating week in his family's house. So the morning he turned 17, he bounced. A beaten up, rusty, hand-me-down car took Logan away from everything he thought he would be stuck with forever. Logan had family he had to escape from; people he needed to forget. It all lead to throwing the last of his limited money into traveling as far away as he could.
The night sky was the first thing to greet Logan when he arrived to the nothing of a canyon surrounded by the sky. It almost seemed like his little old Toyota and the unpaved path knew where Logan had to go and steered him right to it.
When Logan realised he was alone with only nothingness to accompany him, there was not a drop of worry left in his mind. Who cared if he left his family for good. Who cared if he had no money and no job and no friends. Who cared if he has no place to go. He had his trusty car and a bumpy, unpaved road and a night unparallel to anything other night on the globe. It was his everything.
.
Logan eventually left his everything. He had no food or real way to survive. He drove to a different city. Away from his old life that he longed to forget. He got a job making more than enough to live the modest life he lead. He lived alone. He woke up every day with a cup of coffee. Then he went to work. He'd come home, eat, and go to sleep. And the cycle was vicious and draining.
Never did Logan see the sky those days. He lived in an apartment building in the middle of a city; there wasn't much to see. Logan almost forgot all about his sanctuary.
That is, until a man jumped into his life. Roman. Logan would argue that Roman did not so much jump as he did leap into Logan's treacherous eat-work-sleep cycle. It was a quite unexpected and scary thing, someone wanting to spent their precious time with him. He even considered pushing the prince charming away multiple times to prevent someone from getting hurt. A million things could have gone wrong, could have brought his shakey new happiness to a screeching halt. But somehow, none of them did. Roman stayed through the thick and thin of Logan's life.
There seemed to be a pattern with spontaneity and perfection.
Roman was everything that Logan craved. Confidence, excitement, a break from the norm. Roman was the one to convince Logan to quit his job. So he said over and over, "If it doesn't make you happy, it's not worth a dime. Life can't be delicious with a dash of salt, you know."
Shortly after Logan quit his job and lost much in favor of something to live for again, Roman and Logan became a couple. It was the closest experience to perfect Logan had felt since he found the night sky for what she truly is. Roman was loud and grand and loyal, while Logan was smart and understanding and patient. They were ying and yang. Acid and bace. They needed each other to become something extravagant.
.
After a month or so of living off savings and failing to find a job that pleased him, Logan decided it was time to introduce Roman to what once was his safe haven. Savings only lasted so long and Logan was not stupid. If he could not find a job he enjoyed, he would have to get a nine to five at a desk. It would be a necessity that would destroy Logan's happiness.
Logan wanted one last perfect before it slipped so simply through his fingers again.
He announced the proposal of a road trip with a destination only known to him. A suprise, if you will. Roman, who did not hold against Logan his lack of grand romantic gestures, but he was very enthusiastic as the prospect of a suprise.
So Logan stuffed his boyfriend into his still very small car and they set off. Logan wondered the entire ride if the most amazing person to enter his life would love the most wonderful place that Logan knew of. Would he, could he, be able to appreciate this little piece of the universe in the way that Logan did?
Yes. Yes he could. Roman gawked and gazed and smiled at the little world that could not compare to any other. He even asked if they could sleep under the stars that night.
Logan did not take many risks, but from previous data (twice in his life), the moments Logan took chances made the best things come out of hiding. When he saw his significant other under the stars, marveling at the beauty similar to when he first discovered the twinkling wonders, Logan had an idea that was so crazy that it might just end up perfect.
.
Six months later, Roman and Logan were living in a log cabin together on the top of a canyon that displayed the sky around it like a trophy atop it's head. Every night they could see the stars streach out before them, reminding them of their endless possibilities in life.
They were entirely self sufficient in there little house. They had a handful of animals and a large vegetable garden at their disposal as well as a shipping system for things such as flour and chocolate to be delivered to their door.
It turned out that Logan's brother, Thomas, had remembered him even after leaving when he did. Thomas was an angel and got an exuberant amount of money from their parents' will but did not keep much of it. Logan found this out along with the news of their parents' death when he opened a letter with a check that could support a whole family for many years.
Logan was once again given a miracle that enabled him to live his wildest dreams.
Whenever Logan put himself out there in the universe, life had a way of working out for him. Logan couldn't believe how lucky he was. He had the most loving person by his side, a life he loved living, and his sanctuary surrounding his life like a weighted blanket. He had love, and a purpose, and enjoyment in his life every day. He had turned a bare block of land into the life he wanted, needed, to live with his favorite person on Earth by his side.
It was the nothing that became his everything.

He is scary.
Virgil, sitting alone in his bed: I am scary.
Virgil, getting a midmorning snack: I am scary.
Virgil, over dinner: I Am Scary.
Virgil, to Remy (who isn't listening): I Am Scary!
Virgil, eating ice cream and playing with Roman's conjured puppies: I AM SCARY!
Patton, patting Virgil on the head as he walks past: Sure you are, kiddo.

^^^ Here you are @fanders-unite !
I don't know if this is what you were looking for but this is what came to my brain sooo....
((All the sides and Thomas are 7 years old in the fic and this takes place before Deceit was supressed in the subconscious))
~
“Go away. No one wants you here,” A very young Roman spat across a small folding table that served as the congregation spot for the sides. Deceit shrunk a little in his chair, regretting speaking up in the first place despite being prompted by Logan.
Patton shook his head and lightly tapped Roman on the shoulder in reprimanding. “Now Roman. I know you're angry but please try to be nice. Deceit is just doing his job, after all.”
“Yes, remain civil. Raising a fuss accomplishes nothing more than wasting time,” Logan sighed in exasperation. “In favor of getting back on task I ask you all once more. Thomas broke a bowl that his mother seemed to be attached to. Should he confess right away? Or try and cover up his mistake with a fabrication of some sort?”
Patton clasped his hands behind his back in an effort to look sophisticated and bring some peace to the discussion for Logan. “Well, you all know where I stand. I say confess. It is the right thing to do and he may be punished less for telling the truth.”
“I agree with Pat. No lying means less time-out. Which means more time for grand adventures!” Roman mimed slashing the air with a sword before continuing. “Besides. It's just a silly old dish. His mother is sure to forgive him if he fesses up right off.”
Anxiety, who had been quiet for quite some time, took Roman's statement as a springboard for his counterclaim. “But it's not just a silly dish! It's his mother's favorite dish! She is going to flip out when she finds out we broke it. And probably hate us forever.” Anxiety crossed his arms in frustration. “The only choice we have is to hide the evidence and hope she doesn't find out. Lie about what happened to it. I'm for the fabrication.”
Deceit, who had been trying to sink as low as possible in his chair after Roman had yelled at him, smiled a little at Anx’s words. At least someone was on his side.
After the first three sides were finished, the room was quiet. Deceit was expected to go next (Logan wanted all of their input before making the final decision for Thomas) but it was hard to say anything else after Roman got so angry at him the first time.
All Deceit had done was point out that the bowl remnants wouldn't be that hard to hide and that he could probably think up a pretty convincing tale about Thomas's youngest brother being the culprit. But Roman, who had a certain fondness for said brother, readily objected. It made sense but it hurt Deceit all the same. It's not like he could be in favor of telling the truth, honestly.
“Hey Deceit?” Patton's warm voice mented through Deceit's recollection like honey on toast. “We're all listening, bub. Do you want to add anything?”
Deceit contemplated shaking his head no and letting Logan get on with it, but he settled for a quick statement.
“It would be a shame if Thomas's mother hated him forever, don't you agree? A little hiding never hurt anybody. I stand by what I said: Thomas should say that his brother broke the dish.”
Deceit took a deep breath and let it out slowly. He truly believed that it would be beneficial to lie to Thomas's mom, it was just hard when so many people were against him. Deceit gave Anx a lot of credit. He was constantly going against the majority to keep Thomas safe.
“Thank you for your ideas, they will all be considered shortly,” Logan said with a nod as he stood up from the table. “I will compile the data and make a decision soon. Thomas will be acting upon my decision in about ten minutes; come talk to me if you have any further concerns or ideas you would like to bring up privately prior to then.” And then he was gone, sinking out to his room with a formal, neutral expression.
Realizing everyone was preparing to leave, Deceit sunk out. He was glad to be back in familiar territory. It wasn't often that he even left his room anymore. Is imput was being considered less and less these days.
Deceit never had much against Logan. He did his job and kept things in order for Thomas and he didn't lash out at Deceit for disagreeing on something.
Unfortunately, not every side could say they are like Logan. Roman, for example, never failed to put the little lyer down for his ideas if he didn't whole heartedly agree. It's not like his treatment was exclusive to Deceit, he would say anything to anyone if he thought it would get him his way. And is that really so different from what Deceit does? So Deceit guessed he couldn't hold too much against him.
Deceit didn't like not being liked. But he couldn't help but notice little things that make him feel less and less wanted among the sides. Patton, for example.
Deceit is pretty sure that Patton does not like him. Or at least has a few things against him. For one, Patton almost always disagreed with his ideas. He believes that the best outcome is usually a result of honesty. “Communication. You have to be open and honest to make stuff work!” Wize words for a seven year old.
Over time, Patton had developed this mentality that lying is wrong. It hurt, to be disliked for your very purpose in life, but that wasn't the problem Deceit had with Patton. The problem was that he pretended he didn't.
Deceit had never asked if Patton didn't like him. He didn't even know if it was true. But he assumed.
It was a dreadful thing- not knowing. Little Deceit thought so anyway. It was hard for anyone to not understand something, but it was especially difficult for Deceit for many reasons.
The main reason Deceit didn't like not knowing something was because he became the victim of his own game. If he didn't know the truth there was no way for him to know if someone was tricking or lying to him.
Patton constantly tried to include Deceit and hear his ideas out, but was it all a sham? A cover up for his nice persona? Probably. It was most likely just a facad he put up to convince the others he was a good person. Nobody really wanted Deceit around anymore.
Deceit was pulled out of his thoughts by the sound of a water droplet hitting the floor. Another, then another falling at his feet.
Oh. He was crying.
