The day to forget
Few years ago, there was an old man of age 66 used to live in a small town named “reet” and sadly the old man used to live alone as he lost his family 3 years ago in a terrorist attack, his neighbors were very helpful and caring, almost all were farmers and the old man was living on his pension as he was a ex-army officer but it was difficult for him to live only on his pension so he made small amount of his pension into a investment it take 8 months from him to make sufficient amount of money to start a business.
He tried to run sweet shop business but the problem was that there was no shop nearby at cheap rent cost, finally he found a shop but it was far away from his house almost 5 miles away but his necessities forced him to run the business, during the first week of his business it was completely impossible for him to run it continuously.
He was a brave and self-motivating man who was trying his best to run the business but his age was pulling back his confidence, villagers tried to help him but only few had because it was far away from the village and all villagers had to look after their fields as well, on 3rd of December there was a knock on his door. He was very tiered as he had just returned from his work he barely stood and slowly walked towards his door, the door was continuously knocked and the old man opened the door and he saw a little child standing in front of gate, the little boy was dirty and fully loaded with dust, the boy naivety could be clearly seen on his face which melted the heart of the old man and the boy said “kuch khane ko milega kya sahib” the old man barely had something to eat for himself but showing kindness he just offered the little boy to come into the house.
The old man asked him to sit at the chair, old man asked little boy his name , the little boy replied “sahib, Gokul naam hai mera” , the old man again asked a question that tell me something about you, why are you so dirty and what are you doing late night here, gokul pleasantly replied “sahib, bachpan me hi mata-pita ki maut hogayi majdoori karte waqt aur uske baad se majduri karke hi apni jindagi kaati hai maine ,aur ajkal tabiyat kharab chalri thi isliy majduri bhi nahi kar para hu, jis wajah se khana mangne ke liy itni raat ko bahar hu”.
The old man made the food ready and gave to the little boy and the expressions of child while eating hygienic food were exlainationless , no sooner did the boy finish his lunch than the old man asked him , so what will you do now then the boy was silent as he had no place to live, he asked the old man would you give me some space in your house and food in return I will help you in your daily work as the old man also want someone to help him so he accepted the offer of the little child and next morning they both started working and the old man was able to sell more sweets as compared to recent times , the boy was working really hard according to his capability.
Every day they both work hard and return to home and eat and sleep and again that routine, now, they were earning a good amount of money every day through the shop, on 4th of December both were returning from the shop and suddenly someone came between their path and stop both of them, the unknown man asked “ap dono kaha rehte hai, bujurg or chotte bache ko thakan me akele chalte dekh mujhe accha nahi lagrha hai ky mai ap logo ko ghar chhordu” the old man and the child were very tiered, so they decided to take help of the unknown man, there was a strange smile on the unknown man’s face after acceptance of the offer.
The unknown man started discussing about the old man business and they both were talking very frankly, only one thing was strange between the conversation that the child was sitting quietly unlikely to his nature, the old man asked, “gokul beta kya hogaya, aaj bare chup-chup ho” gokul pleasantly replied, “pata nahi sahib, thora ajjeb sa lagra hai” then the unknown person replied quickly that “are pehli baar gadi me betha hoga na,isliy” the old man read the expressions of gokul and calmly speak to gokul about his uncommon expressions, after this all they finally reached home and the old man started thanking the unknown man for his help, the unknown man was about to go but his car engine failure prohibited him to go, it was old man kindness that he offered him to stay that night at his home and the unknown man instantly aceepted his offer as it was late night and no mechanic shop was opened at that time or due to his another strange reason, anyway they all entered into the home and finished their dinner as soon as possible, now the time was 12:30 am, the old man hardly arranged a suitable place for him to sleep.
Finally they all were slept except one, can you guess?, it was gokul who was not yet slept .
Gokul heard a knock on the door and he stood up to open it, he reached the door and opened it…………………………………
A deep breath from gokul after he saw a person wearing ‘khaki’, the policeman started enquiring him about a person with a black car, gokul quickly ran into the room where the old man and the unknown man were sleeping as he realized that the unknown man was with a black car, gokul reached at the place and saw an incredible seen which made him unconscious , the policeman ran after gokul after his strange behavior in front of him, no sooner did the policeman reach there than he saw gokul falling on ground in the condition of unconsciousness and the major thing he noticed there was that the old man hanged on the fan with about 10 bullets in his chest, blood was lying on the ground like spilled water and the policemen immediately called police force on the spot.
Gokul regained consciousness after few hours, he founded him at the hospital and the policemen came to him immediately to enquire him about the black car owner, he answered all questions and he was still not completely regained his consciousness as it was the saddest moment of his life said by him.
The story clearly shows that kindness is nice but can harm youin many ways, in this world full of meanness no one cares for kindness of anyone which is a great shame for humanity, for their mean they are unkind to animals, nature and even to persons who are close to them
