A few of the original shikishi paintings I'll have at Animaga next week! These are acrylic ink paintings and they're super shiny when the light hits them just right. So glad the sun finally came out here so I could get the effect on camera!!

I like making these so there will probably be a few more ready before the con. Or maybe 10 more. 👀

Something new I'll have at my Animaga table this year - my first set of handmade notebooks! I've been creating my own sketchbooks over the past year and have gone through a few different iterations to come up with something I would use myself. I wanted to make something I could easily carry around that would handle my favourite sketching mediums (brush pen and fountain pen) 🙂

I've been trying to draw the figures smaller than I usually would to trick myself into prioritising the main shapes before I get bogged down in details. (my life hack for this is also zooming out really far on the reference photo lol)

I'm doing AdorkaStock's Draw Everything June challenge again! Here are the poses from week 1. I use brush pens a lot but realised I rarely use them for figure drawing, so this time I'm going to challenge myself to ink all the sketches 🙂
