Post-Partition Bano is sad, alone and forlorn at the hands of the fate she faces in the course of partition. After years of torture at the hands of the enemy, she reaches Pakistan with her child and hope that her own people, her Pakistanis will embrace her and give her the respect and dignity she had lost at the hands of fate, but in turn, is extremely ignored and loathed by her own aunt and her fiancee Hassan, who has confused feelings and is torn between his past with her and a future that his aunt and mother promise him.
