Just rewatching gadar (1) rn and I just gotta say it's soo crazy that the only reason I am alive is because my great grandfather was a rich person, millions of hindus and sikhs died during partition and the only reason my mom's family made it to India is because a random guest (guests were so common at that time like their house was never only the family) who was from the gov and was just passing by and thought to stop at the sanpanchs house told my great grandfather that he thinks that congress is going through partition and thank fucking god my he took it seriously. Acc what my mom told me, he packed up his house and took as many of his villagers as he could and ran. He made it and 2 months later when the pak gov announced it in the country all Hindus and sikhs in pak region were killed. The trains coming to India were filled with the dead bodies of hindus and sikhs.

If that white guy from the gov did not enter my great grandfather's house because of his famous spices, I would not be alive right now.

Omg this is sooo random like I swear I don't talk about this on a daily basis but gadar just hits different.

Although Bano was never to blame, the society and their sickening thinking is to blame.
