It's kind of sad and fucked up when you think about how when KDJ convinced YJH to not treat his regressions as a do-over button, the thing that actually got YJH to stop was the thought that the other KDJs he might meet in subsequent regressions wouldn't be exactly the same person as the one he knows now.

Which is something he has a lot of experience with when going through regressions before. His companions always have the same backstory/personality, but people are a compilation of what they have gone through. The whole point of regressions is to do things differently each time, so his companions are never exactly the same people as those he met in his "first life".

This was the only regression that he was ever able to meet KDJ, so YJH hadn't already become desensitized into expecting KDJ to be different person than the one he met initially. YJH, explicitly, did not want to regress if it meant bringing forth this type of change. YJH did not want KDJ to act differently, he wanted his companion just the way he was.

But because of the 51/49 split and KDJ fragmenting it's been stated that it's impossible for KDJ to ever return to being 100% himself again, even if YJH and KimCom collect all the fragments. So, in the end, through no fault of his own, YJH was still unable to keep KDJ from changing from the man he initially knew. He was unable to keep the existence he wanted to preserve and protect.

kim dokja is the patron saint of the shitty job. any job youve ever had that you hated he was right there with you. hate your bad customer service job? kim dokja is rolling his eyes at annoying customers with you. hate your shitty warehouse job? kim dokja is next to you and his back hurts just as bad dont worry. hate your torturous office job? well that one goes without saying. at any point you can envision kim dokja next to you, glancing longingly at the clock and encouraging you to take a 20 minute shit so you can read webnovels on the toilet. and i think thats beautiful.
