im very glad axolotls gained their popularity over the past few years, but i’ve liked them for way longer of a time and people used to think they were ugly when i was little. it was pretty fucked up too because they’re endangered in the wild due to their main habitat being polluted and dangerous for them. i’m very glad theyre at least popular as pets so the species wont completely disappear, but it fucking sucks that they can’t thrive in the wild
