Entry #1:

      In my ISU I mentioned having a community connection for my passion project which is based on dermatology. Over the course of the month I have been in contact with Dr.Jawabreh over email. It’s a challenge to go and see her because it is seen as unprofessional and can make the patients feel uncomfortable. On the other hand, I’m learning a lot from her, she shares her struggles and successes with me, that benefits me in the future because it provides a better foundation for me to build off of. In regards to my SMART goals, this has been quite an experience. Although I still have a long way to go and many things to learn, its been tough getting the material I need in order to learn more about this profession. On the bright side, it taught me to be more independent and rely on myself for finding sufficient resources that help me. My next steps in order to reach my goals would be to try harder and not rely on others for information.

Entry #2:

Since my last entry not much has changed although I have come to a realization that dermatology is hard! one question I had for my community connection was: what is the most challenging part of the job? to my supersize Dr,Jawabreh responded “Along with the many challenges that come with this profession, many beautiful things happen as well. Going home would be most difficult for me, as you spend more time doing what you love its hard to leave it at the end of the day”. This encouraged me to take my research further and try harder for what I am interested in.

Heyy just an update although I am progressing well, I’m not caught up with my reading due to all the work that I have during school. How I plan on fixing my reading schedule is to set deadlines for how much u need to read at a time, I also plan on using my time more wisely and spending less of it on social media!! Although social media is great it has many disadvantages. I have identified the dermatology website as my primary source of information because it provides more information than one would need! I intend to incorporate it into my project by taking important text and adding an entertainment piece to go along with it!! I have discovered new websites along my journey and I find them useful but not much different than the other sites. It’s would be nice to visit a dermatologist to enhance my project by accumulating more information and experiencing what it would be like a day in the life of a dermatologist!!🤷‍♀️🥵

Did he do it to em or not?

   Recently I've been following up with a podcast called “Serial” and let me just say it been wild up until episode 12. Let me give you all a quick recap. When the podcast "Serial" became a hit last year, it sparked interest in the case of Adnan Syed, who was accused 15 years ago of murdering his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee, in Baltimore. Lee, a high school senior, was reported missing in January 1999; her body was found the next month. She had been strangled. The following year, Syed was convicted of her murder and sentenced to life in prison. The case gained attention 15 years later with the release of "Serial," which led some to question Syed's guilt. Earlier this month, a judge in Maryland ruled that the case should be reopened so Syed could introduce new evidence and testimony that could change the whole case. Well, after listening to episode 12 I too began to question whether Syed was guilty. through my own knowledge and facts from the podcast I’ve come to the conclusion that Syed  may be guilty, as previously stated, Jay’s confession, backed up by the fact that he knew where Hae’s car was, plus the call log from Adnan’s phone. Although the evidence is not strong, it does line up with the only real story provided, which was Jay’s side. In episode 12, Koenig,the talk show host is conflicted about how to end the season and Adnan says  “I think you should go down the middle,”   “I don’t really think you should take a side.” Koenig thanks Adnan, To me this seems suspicious because a person who is truly innocent should fight for justice, Syed seems to be defeated. I was curious and decided to visit more websites to see if anyone else could relate to my opinion. As I read through the websites my opinion about Adnan’s guilt stayed the same, as none of the information supported him, the evidence seemed to be against him.

 Source 1: https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2019/03/case-against-adnan-syed-review/584149/  this seems to be a professional website and appears to be mainstream, they argue that many clues leave detectives scratching their heads but much of the evidence suggests it was a team evidence and perhaps Jay and Adnan planned this all along.

Thoughts on English??

Personally, I enjoy English class, not only does it teach us valuable skills that we will continue to use throughout our life but it also helps us develop better interpersonal skills. Writing is a way to express your feelings without having to physically say them, which can be a relief for some but, for me, I enjoy reading about other peoples opinions and being able to relate to a situation they wrote about. I feel this is an important course because no matter what profession you decide for yourself you will always use the skills that only English class can teach you!

Hello, I’m Zeena Saleh and I would like to give my peers a little bit of insight about my life. I’m Palestinian but, I was born in Dubai and later on moved to Canada. As you can already tell I come from a rich Dubai family and we don’t like to stay in one country for too long...just kidding! I came to Canada for a better education. It was a struggle growing up in Canada not knowing a lot of English. As I got older I made new friends and grew as a person, along with that I developed many interests and hobbies.

Best Interest!!

Welcome to my very first post! Since you may not know me well I will start off my page by displaying some of my best interests for my peers. At a young age my siblings and I would compete in drawing contests as a hobby, soon enough I became obsessed with art, as for my siblings they moved on to other hobbies. I began to create art on a daily basis. I watched YouTube videos and slowly my skills improved with every mistake I made. Looking back at my old drawings I am glad I had a supportive family that encouraged me to never give up and keep drawing. As I became older I explored many different types of art, one type that stood out the most to me was realistic drawing. Although one drawing takes a minimum of 2 hours the finished result is always unique and gives the artist a sense of happiness. I do enjoy colorful pieces of art but for my personal art I like to keep it clean with the classic black and white, occasionally I will add a dash of color to emphasize certain features. In addition to drawing, I also enjoy a different type of art called Henna, this is a form of traditional middle eastern body art. As of now, I am still improving my skills and techniques but, I would like to share some art pieces with my followers. I thank you for taking the time to read through my first post!
