If he hits his walls, he’ll hit you

If he yells at his mom, he’ll yell at you

If he cheated on someone before, he’ll cheat on you

If he doesn’t care for his friends, he won’t care for you

If he is rude to his siblings, he’ll be mean to you

I wish I listened.

I watched the girl I drank fruit juice with in kindergarten reaching for her fifth beer.

I watched the girl that comforted me after I threw up in school, throwing up because she had too much to drink.

I watched the girl I used to have sleepovers with in third grade pass out drunk on my couch.

I watched the girl I used to have lollipops with in first grade smoke herself high. 

I watched the girl I used to jump on the trampoline with try to jump off the roof.
