Sketch 8. Lie Ren

Ren! Based on an oriental shorthair. His ears are larger then others, legs are long, and his tail is very long. I just went for this since Nora’s all fluff, thought a sleek look would contrast her well and give him that hint of calmness he has, the more frazzled he is, the fluffier he gets.

Orientals can honk so Ren can too :)

Sketch 7. Pyrrha Nikos

Pyrrha is a bengal! Bengals are very active and a popular. Her back legs are extremely strong. She’s got a sleek look, and a rounded face to give her that softer side she shows a lot!

Sketch 6. Nora Valkyrie

Nora’s based on a Norwegian forest cat! She may look chonky, but in reality it’s all fluff. Her fur goes everywhere much like ruby and yang! Mostly made her fluffy to contract Ren and Pyrrhas sleekness.

Sketch 5. Jaune Arc

Someone help him.

Anyways, Jaunes based on a Scottish fold, he’s got very minimal floof, which is soft and rounded! He’s also got those big “oh no” eyes. All his siblings have little folded ears <3

Sketch 4. Yang Xaoi Long

Yang, like ruby, is based on a main coon, however this time it’s fully.

Unlike her sisters short tail, she’s got a long bushy- almost squirrel like- tail. She’s also got more fluffy too her, is larger, and has ear tufts. Her fur, especially on the stomach and back of legs, tends to go every which way to give her a more rough and tumble look.

Sketch 3. Blake Belladonna

Blake’s just a regular cat, but for the most part she’s got panther features to help point out thats she’s a faunus. Her ears are rounded and her face is sharper. She’s also got the classic panther “tear lines”

She, like Weiss, had fur running down one way. Again to make her look sleeker.

Weiss is based on a ragdoll/snowshoe (as are her siblings.) unlike Yang and Ruby, her fur only goes one way, and which helps make her look sleek and clean, a little less of a rough housing look. Her tail is the messiest part of her but that’s just because they tend to look like feathers on the breeds she based on!

Wow. Am I actually posting again? Yeah.

I had some issues family wise and with people and these designs rvejshsjw so I didn’t want to post often.

I love these two tho, so I wanted to post them and talk a bit about what I was thinking.

This is just me rambling about my design process and such. Feel free to ignore it.

Robyn.. okay weirdly, I’ve had an idea for Robyn since the last time I did this, but I was done with RWBY for a while, yet it still stuck in my head so the moment I opened my sketch pad up I knew what I wanted her as. A Russian blue!! I felt this fit for her because they’re 1. Cold bred cats. And 2. Slim, and freaking elegant. I don’t know why and maybe to others they go “what?” But I felt it worked for her body base.

MAY WAS WAY MORE THOUGH PROVOKING AAAA

I really wanted to touch on her becuase.. I love her... so much... but I didn’t want it glaringly obvious. One thing I wanted to have a little Easter egg to another series that I live: lot of warriors fans might know about the trans Rowanclaw headcanon (a personal favorite) and with Rowanclaw being a thinner tabby, I thought I’d put that into May. (Obviously her stripes aren’t there yet, since I haven’t gotten to doing these digitally.) I didn’t want to use a short haired cat for May, that felt cheap and completely ignored her ponytail (GIRL HAS SO MUCH DAMN HAIR), which.. means the Abyssinian I originally pictured her as didn’t fit nearly as well as I wanted.

Now of course, I could’ve just Yknow.. ignored it and made her long haired either way with an Abyssinian base but, I like making designs that can be used without jumping through hoops, so finding a body base that was as close as possible to a breed was important to me. I went looking for a cat breed with the body and look of an Abyssinian, but with long hair.

AND I FOUND ONE.

As you can probably see, written right next to her- May was based on a Somali cats which are absolutely beautiful, active, and gosh I love them. I dunno why but I’m so happy with these two, save for maybe Mays muzzle. But that’s a pretty easy fix. Of course you can disagree! But here they are, now I will do the rest of the happy huntress’ and winter becuase im ignoring her

RWBY feline designs for a personal project I’m doing for a friend.

Including the few week difference between Yang’s two.

Ruby and yang are both Maine Coons, however ruby is a mix breed. Maine Coon size I suppose, I wanted to give her the big baby eyes and shorter fur so I went with British shorthair

Breeds aren’t like, set in stone, they’re just what I use to get a basis on proportions.

Blake is just an average black cat, but the way I’m doing faunus’ is mixing in their design elements (like Marrows tail.) but, Blake is a cat so- I decided to give her more panther like features.

I dunno. I’m scared to post these but I thought they’d be enjoyed here. I have more but I’m worried about those so I hope you all do??
