You know, I tell myself that I’ve become ambivalent on any ships in this show. But when I’m reminded of people feeling so strongly against a beautifully written and complex main character it makes me think, ‘I hope Sydney fucks that white boy nasty and goes on to have a satisfying character arc.’ Just because it would make me happy knowing a bunch of people who post those types of comments very upset.

Those who are so ready to accept the flaws of other characters and but do not afford Sydney the same grace get side eye from me.

sometimes I feel like I’m the worst sydcarmy shipper out there. cause what do you mean there’s people doing full ass essays on how Carmy’s expression changed in one single frame and I’m just “awn, so cute, they are under the table. Now kiss, bitches”

A Sydcarmy Christmas.

Happy Holidays everyone! Please share your Sydcarmy Headcannons, I’d love to hear them all !!!

Here are some of mine:

• Carmy isn’t big on PDA, but he has a stash of mistletoe sprigs that he keeps in his pocket. Periodically throughout the Adamu-Berzatto Christmas celebrations, he will pull Syd into an unoccupied room and put that mistletoe to use.

• I feel like Sydney looooves Christmas. As soon as Halloween is over she is bumping carols around the house. She is absolutely making Carmy put on Santa hats and reindeer ears, the whole nine.

• I feel like Emmanuel Adamu has a fire sweet potato pie recipe.

• Emmanuel thinks Carmy is a wonderful chef, but doesn’t trust him to make the baked Mac & Cheese.

• Richie, Cicero and Emmanuel and maybe Ted (not Neil) perform old school R&B versions of carols, with the harmonies and everything for the family. (ex: Silent Night by the Temptations). Richie and Ted are definitely toasted on spiked egg nog and the older fellas are stone cold sober. Richie and Ted are genuinely trying their best to get the vocals right which makes it 10x funnier.

• Carmy is super uncle. He buys his niece/nephew waaayyy too many gifts to the point where Shug gets annoyed because they won’t have space for everything in the little kids room. He gets Eva the super loud gifts that he knows will annoy Richie

• When they first got together, Carmy wasn’t into the big family Christmases so he would try to whisk Sydney away to really nice vacations so that they could just spend their Christmas holiday one on one.

i squeezed out just under 1000 words of HWIK sydcarmy in the boat house bed before i need to get started on the chaos of christmas day!

they won't tell you this in therapy but sometimes the best way to stop catastrophizing/anxiety is to interrupt your spiraling with "girl what the hell are you talking about"
