🚫🚫🚫 Loud Is Not Allowed 🚫🚫🚫 🛑🛑🛑 Not Looking For Pity 🛑🛑🛑 I have lost many things becoming disabled. I bet the most important things I miss most are not what you would think they are. ☹️ - sleeping in a bed ( I haven’t slept in a bed in over 5 years.) ☹️- the luxury of a sick day ( I’m on disability so I’m not allowed to feel bad even when I feel bad) ☹️- friends (nobody calls or visits anymore, my cat is my best friend now) ☹️- my voice (if I don’t have something positive to say, I’m embracing the victim mentality) ☹️- peace (never a moment or position without pain, EVER) ☹️- value ( I sit/recline at home on my a$$, tired? “Why you don’t work” pain medicine? “Why You’re just a drug addict” Help? “Hold on; in a minute; I forgot; its not my job) ☹️- living (social distancing? Been that way for over a year. Death by Covid-19? Would be quicker than the slow death I’m experiencing now) I’m not suicidal, I don’t have to be. I’m slowly being erased as we speak. Cute Cat Photos 💜💜💜 So I’m sitting here and all of a sudden I hear my cat almost like whimpering but not in distress. She wasn’t hurt in any way, so I look over and there is a moth up near the light. It reminded me of when my son was a little boy and he started screaming “Mom! Mom! Bug! Bug! Get it away from me!” There was a bug in the bathroom and he was freaking out. Most of you know I suffer greatly from severe chronic pain. If I looked at all the negatives it’s like dropping a rock in a bottomless well. Waking up in so much pain or worse yet not even getting to sleep because of the pain is my daily reality. Despair is an easy pit to sink into when pain and sadness are the norm. When that starts to happen to me, this little lady reminds me there are still blessings and light in my life. This is my best friend. Her name is Olive and she is my fur baby. I have been very lonely for quite a while now. Olive coming into my life has been a godsend. When I was little I had a cat named kiki. I loved her dearly and she got out one day and we couldn’t find her. I thought she was unique. I have had several other fur babies but never a connection like with kiki. I think Olive has channeled kiki somehow lol. She is exactly like her. My heart is very full. I’m very thankful. I borrowed this from a friend... This is particularly true for me, and most chronic illness sufferers I know. (Mental illness falls here too) I wonder if people know how insignificant they make people feel with their judgements and assumptions. The societal stigma is sometimes more painful than the illness itself. Maybe we should look through a filter of love colored glasses rather than the preconceived notions ones we wear.
