Harry and Meghan are pretty harmless these days (plus I appreciated them volunteering during the Cali fires) so I haven't felt the need to criticize them recently, but their PDA is always so tacky. The way they're clinging to each other at Invictus is pretty awkward.

And why is she holding his face in place? 😂

Engagements used to be announced a lot more in diary but I believe because of security issues it’s been secret in recent years .
Ah, that makes sense. I wish they didn't have to do that but better safe than sorry I suppose.

I'm glad Catherine did an engagement at the hospital. It was nice to see her out and about, especially after hearing that she wasn't going to be doing regular engagements. But I wonder why the media was not briefed ahead of time?
I checked to see if she had any upcoming events in the royal diary and realized that neither Charles and Camilla nor William and Kate have any engagements listed there, while the Edinburghs, Gloucesters, and Princess Anne have tons. Has it always been like that? Why don't BP and KP use this to list upcoming engagements?
I'm just curious because Charles and Camilla definitely do have engagements planned. But there's nothing listed. Does anyone have any information on this?

I love it when the press runs out of content about the royals so they just start making things up.
Apparently The Express thinks that Queen Camilla and Meghan Markle are going to bond over their dogs dying.
I really don't think Meghan intended the tribute to her beagle to be an olive branch to Camilla, and I really don't think Camilla's response would be to welcome the Sussexes back into the family even if it were.

This is how I imagine Kate and Meghan fighting over dumb shit like lip gloss and hormones 😂 one person does something slightly rude, the other makes it into a huge deal, and both come out of it looking ridiculous.
PSA: GIF THIEF
I would like to point out that this person catherinetheprincessofwales is a gif thief. I sent her a private message asking her to remove the gifs that she had stolen from me. She keeps using the other gifs but only deletes one. She even blocked me after accusing me of harassing her. Please refrain from stealing from other bloggers. You have no idea of the effort and time we put into making gifs just to take it as your own.

do you not like kate?
I wouldn't say that. I think she seems like a very nice person and a good mother. But I don't think she's a great Princess of Wales.
I don't want to criticize her for being less active than William while she was the Duchess of Cambridge. She had difficult pregnancies and frankly I don't blame her for taking time off. I also don't mind that she wanted to raise her kids herself rather than leaving it to a nanny.
But now she's the Princess of Wales. She's the future queen, she's not pregnant anymore, and her kids are in school. She did 128 engagements in 2023. Queen Camilla, who turned 76 that year, did 197.** A healthy 41 year old should be able to do more than a 76 year old.
In 2024, we had the whole Kategate thing (I feel bad for her but wow their PR was a hot mess). Going through chemotherapy is a completely valid reason to not work. But it is a big deal, and it really stretches the family thin.
The problem is, KP doesn't seem to think Kate's absence is a big deal at all. Saying that she's going to slowly start doing more but it may never be the same is crazy. Saying it may take her five years to get back to normal is crazy. Instead of doing surprise appearances at random events, she could gradually increase her workload. For example, she could visit a charity or attend an engagement once a week.
I don't think William and Kate understand how important it is to be out in public. Maybe they're doing things behind the scenes, but nobody can see that, so people just assume they're lazy. They don't do engagements that they don't see as important. But people who like the royal family like them for their pomp and ceremony. We like public events and appearances. They're supposed to represent the nation and boost morale, and to do that, people need to actually see them. They have to do the ribbon cuttings and the "pointless" things. Otherwise, they're just taxpayer-funded philanthropists.
On a more positive note, I really do love Kate's fashion. She doesn't take fashion risks and she's not an icon but her style is very elegant and she always looks great. Princess Diana was the opposite: her fashion was iconic and risky but sometimes it flopped and she looked like a clown. To be fair, it was the 1980s, but still. Kate's clothes are very nice and people want to dress like her. (Now I want to make some fashion posts.)
I have a more negative opinion of William than I do of Kate- after writing this I realized a lot of my criticisms of her above are more his fault than hers. But you didn't ask for my opinion of William, so I'm going to shut up now.
**I chose Camilla as a comparison because Camilla isn't super hardworking, she's just average. Which is okay since she's far over retirement age. But I think it would be unfair to compare Catherine to Charles and Anne, who are low-key insane and do more engagements than is healthy for them.

...I don't know what to say except I think reading that confession killed a few of my brain cells.
* * *
You can't unsee those words, but you'll always feel better when you remember we have Camilla, Anne, and Sophie to look up to as examples of strong women in the royal family ❤

“Diana was not supported by the royal family through her struggles with her eating disorder. Meghan was cruelly forced to go to an engagement even though the heater almost caused a fire or something in their housing unit. I am for once glad that Kate is well taken care of and has been given all the time and space she needs to heal and recuperate and rest and nobody is forcing her to be paraded as a show pony through her health struggles. I am sure Diana in heaven is very happy that all the work she did to expose the cruel, evil palace for overworking her but not giving her proper support was listened to. Everyone should be happy about this if they support Diana, as they claim to do.” - Submitted by Anonymous

A pro-Camill gossip blog?!
Me: Follows immediately!
Some surprisingly popular takes I have if you don’t mind me sharing:
I’m glad Camilla has her rightful title of Her Majesty The Queen. She should have been styled as Princess of Wales too as was her right but I can let that go for her place in history as Queen.
I used to love Will and Cathy but their thirsty antics in the run up to the Coronation (while still being lazy) turned me right off and they’ve only gotten worse. William having his team brief the media that his father has never done anything impactful but was just a basic ribbon cutter is unforgivable.
KP and William’s leadership has been exposed as a dumpster fire now that he’s left to his own devices and doesn’t report up to His Majesty THE KING.
It was always Will and Harry’s plan to make themselves defacto “half in half out” on The King’s accession. But Harry jumped the gun when he met Meghan…and ironically their bad behaviour have now allowed W&C to basically operate as half in half out royals but be praised for it while H&M are vilified.
I wonder if the Wales fandom who are in such a rush for KC to die or abdicate actually think through (1) who is actually going to do the work or being King and (2) who would be the new media punching bag when C&C are no longer there because Fleet Street will always need one. Are they ready for it to be Willy or one of the kids?
I am also extremely glad Camilla got her rightful title of Queen. I agree she should have been styled as Princess of Wales but I'm actually glad she wasn't. Diana fans would have pitched a fit, and although I know their opinions don't matter, I think for Camilla's sake the Duchess of Cornwall title was better. I don't think she wanted to be associated with Diana at all, and I don't blame her. Besides, "Princess of Wales" could refer to Diana or Kate or Mary of Teck or Queen Alexandra. But "Duchess of Cornwall" is unique to Camilla. (Yes, I know it's a subsidiary title of PoW. That's why it's unique- everyone in the past simply went by PoW.)
As for the Waleses. I don't hate them, but I am so disappointed in them. I'm starting to realize that they don't care about the monarchy. William didn't just have his team brief the media about his father never doing anything impactful, he literally said it. He said he wanted to be the first royal to actually do something. Here is the quote: "That’s what I’m trying to find my way in, is I care about so many things, and previously the family have been very much spotlighting brilliantly and going round and highlighting lots—I want to go a step further—I want to actually bring change and I want to bring people to the table who can do the change if I can’t do it." (Source)
This is actually the first thing that really put me off with William. Downplaying Charles's work with the Prince's Trust and his environmentalism as "spotlighting brilliantly" and "highlighting lots"? Downplaying Camilla's work with victims of domestic abuse? The King and Queen have both ACTUALLY BROUGHT CHANGE. The Prince's Trust has helped so many disadvantaged young people, all of whom would, I'm sure, say that their lives were indeed changed. Camilla spearheaded an initiative to create wash bags for victims of DV at SafeLives. She's also helped people independently, like the wounded soldier Harry Parker who she inspired to go to art school.
Even besides that, William made it sound like raising awareness for causes isn't helping change come about. He's wrong. Just by supporting their charities, the King and Queen have made a difference.
I have more sympathy for Kate than William. I understand why in the past her engagement numbers have been low- raising three kids is an insanely difficult job, and I know she always wanted to be a mother. I also understand Kate needing time to recover from chemotherapy, because it is really hard. But here's the thing. I assumed that when Charles became king, she'd step it up and begin to do way more public engagements. So I was baffled when I read the articles about how she may "never go back to work like before." First of all, she never worked very much in the first place. Second, SHE'S SUPPOSED TO BECOME QUEEN ONE DAY. Now that her kids are school-aged, she needs to work more, not less. I'm starting to think she's just running out of excuses. If Kate actually cares about the monarchy, she needs to make a timeline for when she'll start working again and follow it.
I don't understand them. Last year I was saying they should fire their PR team. Now I realize that they just won't cooperate with their PR team. They're the problem.
Interesting theory about the half-in half-out thing. I think if Charles had become king earlier, he might have been more reasonable than QEII and considered letting H&M be half-in half-out, for the sake of keeping the family firm strong. He always wanted a slimmed-down monarchy, and for that to work Harry and Meghan would have needed to at least be there sometimes. Losing them was too risky. I don't think he would have allowed W&K to do the same, though, since William is the heir.
Charles loves his sons too much for his own good. Losing his relationship with Harry was a huge blow and I think the reason he isn't putting his foot down and telling William to step up is because he's afraid of damaging that relationship too. Plus, he has cancer, so I think he's focusing more on his health and his duties than what William's doing right now.
When King Charles dies there's a good chance the monarchy will be finished. Done. William's popularity will plummet and I honestly don't think he'll care if the whole institution is abolished. And that is what I'm worried about.

I haven't heard a single Sussex fan accuse Catherine of copying Meghan by beekeeping, only Wales fans accusing Meghan of copying Catherine.
Wales Fandom is out here fighting with thin air.

Bonus: this gem of a comment from @dangerouslypsychicmiracle ⬇

Bingo. But she doesn't only sell honey. Queen Camilla is also president of the charity Bees for Development, which helps promote beekeeping as a sustainable livelihood for people in poverty while helping the ecosystem. So she's the real MVP here.

They're all so trashy. Lol
Earl Spencer’s mistress and his ex wife have gone to court!
'Good luck Cat, you're in for a hell of a ride. I think that you'll find having him to deal with full-time will be much trickier than the odd five-day escape to Norfolk and a night or two in London here and there.'
Exquisite!

Camilla getting blamed for Kate's problems is pretty typical but I feel like this time the Wales fans know it's ridiculous. Come on, just admit that you're jealous Camilla's been out wearing pretty jewels while Kate's at home.
Conspiracy theorists running around blaming everyone but the person responsible because they can’t face it that Kate just doesn’t want to/can’t do something. Some of them are also so jealous of other white tie evenings that doesn’t include Kate (including in other countries), but instead of just admitting it they start insulting those things instead.
It’s not Camilla’s fault that Kate isn’t going to tiara events, and if they had such a bad relationship I sincerely doubt Kate would’ve worn Charles’ beloved grandmother’s famous tiara (even if the setting was goddamn awful). And maybe an unpopular opinion, but I rather Camilla wore all the tiaras in that vault over them being forgotten in the dark.

I used to admire Kate Middleton but I'm becoming increasingly disillusioned with the Wales family. I don't think they're terrible people, but they really are workshy and I don't think they care about the monarchy at all.

I do like (most of) the wives of Windsor but this feels fairly accurate. I mean, Letizia had MUD thrown at her and she stayed there anyway. It felt genuine.
************************************************************************
The Windsor Wives:
Diana: comforts victims but makes sure the press gets lots of pictures, uses it as a photo op to make herself look good
Meghan: leaves immediately with her security team like the Spanish politicians, complains about her treatment later
Kate: never shows up in the first place, stays home with the kids and tweets an apology to the flood victims
Camilla: people are throwing BRICKS at her, not mud, so her security drags her out even though she wants to stay
Sophie: she shows up and nobody throws mud or takes pictures because literally none of the victims know who she is
Tumblr media
“Queen Letizia is so real while comforting the flood victims. The pampered Windsor wives have nothing on her, including the overrated Princess Diana and the publicity hungry Meghan.” - Submitted by Anonymous
