If Ratio died, I think one of the first things Aventurine would do is shut himself off from any kind of meaningful relationship. Omg this is the worst (best) piece of HSR-related information I have learned to date. The Genius Society create Google Translate: Ultra Deluxe??? I have so many questions

How accurately does it translate language-specific metaphors and phrases-- does it translate it literally (which would definitely be one of the reasons for those conflicts) or does it translate it based on the intended meaning?? How does this work with species who can transform or alter their physical characteristics in some way (e.g If Blade cut the chip off, would it come back when he regenerated? How would this work with the Vidyadhara??)?? How does it handle the ever-changing and fluid nature of language as a whole???? Does it get regular updates to account for this? If so, who is in charge of updating it and how do they account for every dialect of every language? I need to know and will now be scouring every text available in game. Thank youu sm for this language-related rabbit hole, I will return to tumblr in 3-5 business months.

Okay, but what if the Avgins had their own native language and Dr Ratio (or whoever you ship Aventurine with) learned it one day for one reason or another?? Then, Aventurine, happy that he found somebody he can talk with in his native language, started teaching Ratio random slang that wouldn't be in textbooks. By the end of it they have their little secret language that they can use to exchange intel on mission. Maybe Ratio teaches Aventurine Latin too.
