because this is totally how I’d imagine a serious chat between Kie and JJ would go… (post s2) (probably on the island) (now I wanna write a oneshot help) (it’s currently four in the morning)

“So- it took me, like, almost drowning- y’know, for you to realise you love me?” JJ teased. Of course, he’d find a way to crack a joke in a moment like this.

Kiara wasn’t ready for the moment to be over yet, brushing his comment aside and looking down at his hand that was covering hers so gently.

“I think, deep down… a part of me always knew.” She shrugged. “I mean, there’s no denying that Pope’s a great guy, that theoretically we should work. But there was always something stopping me from moving any further with him.” She looked up, catching JJ’s eyes as they locked on hers. “I think that was my feelings for you.”

“Well I’ll be damned, Kie,” JJ raised an eyebrow, leaning into her side. “I wish I’d of almost died a bit sooner. Back before JB kissed you, maybe.”

She laughed loudly, before quieting herself - not to wake the others who slept on the sand a few feet away. “Shut up, idiot.”
