The St. Regis hotel in San Francisco is known for its luxurious and elegant atmosphere, and their Lunar New Year themed afternoon tea experience was no exception. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly staff and escorted to our table, which was beautifully decorated with linens and fine china.
The tea selection was impressive, with a variety of Michelin star selected teas to choose from. We opted for the Jasmine Pearls tea, which had a delicate floral flavor that paired perfectly with the savory dumplings that were served instead of traditional tea sandwiches.
The dumplings were the highlight of the experience, with a variety of fillings such as pork, chicken, and vegetables. Each dumpling was expertly crafted and cooked to perfection, with a delicate wrapper and a flavorful filling. Our favorite was the pork dumpling, which had a rich and savory flavor that was enhanced by the addition of a spicy dipping sauce.
In addition to the dumplings, we also enjoyed a variety of other Asian-inspired treats, such as black sesame scones and matcha cakes. These desserts were not only delicious but also visually stunning, with intricate designs and colors that added to the overall ambiance of the experience.
Overall, the Lunar New Year themed afternoon tea at the St. Regis hotel in San Francisco was an unforgettable experience. From the elegant atmosphere to the delicious tea and dumplings, every aspect of the experience was thoughtfully curated to create a truly special occasion. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a unique and luxurious experience, this tea is not to be missed.

Nestled in the heart of Harper Woods, Michigan, just outside Detroit, The Royal Eagle offers a unique escape from the daily hustle and bustle. Every Thursday, this working monastery opens its doors to visitors, unveiling a charming Russian tea room that’s simply enchanting.
Step inside and be transported to another world, where Russian architecture sets the scene. The warm and inviting ambiance invites you to unwind at one of their quaint tables, each offering a view of their immaculate gardens. When the sun shines, the patio becomes an oasis of serenity. As you sip tea from metal cups with glass inserts, savor a delightful four-course meal, starting with borscht soup and ending with exquisite desserts. The catch? The restaurant operates during non-prayer hours, so seating can be limited, but the experience is well worth the visit. After your meal, explore the gardens or browse the gift shop, and you’ll see why The Royal Eagle is a hidden gem worth discovering in Michigan.

The Rolling Tea Cart in Chicago! Today we visited The Allis restaurant, which serves afternoon tea in an industrial elegant setting, surrounded by concrete, lace and crystal. Tea is served in their own signature pattern English tea cups. Sandwiches included one cucumber, egg salad, and salmon sandwich slice. Tea is heavy on dessert, including a slice of zucchini bread, a red velvet cupcake, chocolate devil’s food cake, blueberry lemon tart, lime macaron, and eclair. Raisin scones are accompanied by clotted cream and raspberry jam. Accompaniments include brown and white sugar cubes and whole milk. Each person receives a personal sized teapot, also in their signature pattern. Overall a very elegant and comfortable experience.
