Greater Waco Chamber accepting applications for second annual Business Innovator Award

The Greater Waco Chamber is now accepting applications for the Second Annual Business Innovator Award. The award luncheon will be held on Wednesday, November 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Baylor Club.

The Business Innovator Award is designed to recognize the creative spirit and hard work of the person or organization responsible for helping make Central Texas a hub for creative excellence.

When Tommy Allison came to coach the Robinson Rockets in 2011, he brought a high-octane offense, predicated on precision passing and lots of yards through the air.

So, when the Rockets lost all three games in pool play Thursday at the 7-on-7 state championships, it was a bit of a shock, but the Rockets knew they could rally back for a big run in the consolation bracket. (more…)

World Series Bound: Robinson Junior Girls wins sectional championship

Could the Robinson Junior Girls be headed for another trip to the Little League World Series? After today’s win in West, they’re one step closer.

Playing undefeated for the sectional championship against the winner of the loser’s bracket, no one expected Robinson to have a tough time moving on today.

For the first few innings though, there may have been a little worry.
