HI AHH I know its been a LONG TIME since I’ve posted here!! Covid has kicked my ass, and everyone’s too probably for that matter! The Canadian Museum of Nature has reopened, but they’re still working out how volunteers (like me!) are going to return to our positions n whatnot.
In other news, I’m taking a course this fall that I didn’t take in my first year of Applied Museum Studies (due to reduced course load) as a test to see where my mental health is at, and also to see how I do with virtual classrooms.
At least this year college didn’t start on my birthday! Speaking of, I got a BEAUTIFUL gift from a friend of mine, a custom wirewrapped D20 they made based off my first D&D character, a magpie aarcockra ranger named Malark.
This is the link to the instagram post they made [Link to post] and this is their account [Instagram link] They take commissions for these and I can’t reccommend this enough, I actually ugly cried because I was so overcome with emotion, this is the most thoughtful gift I think I’ve ever gotten. Please give them a follow and commission them when they open up again! The prices are super reasonable and 120% worth it!!
ANYHOO I hope everyone is doing well, or as well as they can be! Has anyone picked up any new hobbies, or a fun new book or tv series during lockdown? Tell me about it! I’d love to hear!

Hi!! I've been keeping superworms for a while now (my friend kept them for lizard food but changed to locusts so he gave me the worms). I didn't really expect them to turn into beetles since they apparently only pupate when separated? but I woke up today and found one had pupated!! Do you know if I can move the worm at all? I wanna get another container for it but idk if I should wait a bit 😅
Ohheck I thought I responded to this, I'm so sorry!
I honestly don't know, I'm not experienced with feeder bugs. I'd reccomend forums for people who keep and/or breed feeders, because this is a blog about my volunteering at the Canadian Museum of Nature! Plus since lockdown no ones been in to the museum since its shut, only essential staff like the animal care team and that.
I hope you found an answer tho, I'm so sorry that I hadnt responded until now!

Omg DID YOU ALSO READ THAT STORY IN MIDDLE SCHOOL ABOUT THE MONGOOSE WHO HAD TO FIGHT OF THE PAIR OF SNAKES TO SAVE THE BABY or whatever he was fighting them for idk. Its been 15 years and I WILL NEVER FORGET RIKKI TIKKI TAVI!!!!
Aha I didnt read it in middle school, I've known it since I was like 3! Both the book + the 1975 animated short film for it are HUGE comfort sources for me. It's what introduced me to mongooses and they've been my favourite ever since, really! I've also got a mongoose plushie named Rikki Tikki Tavi! (Different variety of mongoose tho)
To anyone curious to watch it, I was able to find it on DailyMotion - it's a Chuck Jones animation and the narrator is Orson Welles!

For whoever wants to know, I am taking a break from the museum studies program due to health reasons. I will still be volunteering at the museum, and try to find more museums to volunteer at while I take my break. I’m taking at least a year off, possibly more.
This blog will continue to run when I have interesting things to post! Thank you all for following and supporting me.

Happy Halloween everyone! What’s your costume? What plans do you have, if any? Or if you’ve done them already!
I’m going to be at the museum this evening, and then after that if its not raining I might go out in costume!
